Hello everyone, I hope you all enjoy this new story. I am making this different and I hope it is good. I do not own the characters except for Gabrielle and Maria.
In the palace throne room, the adults look at the two girls standing before the Pharaoh. Neither have removed their masks or their weapons, both are dressed strangely and do not speak.
"Who are you?" Aknadin demands.
"Λυπάμαι, αλλά δεν καταλαβαίνουμε," The one with curly hair says.
"What a strange language," Shimon says. "They must be from a far away land."
Aknamkanon looks at the girls as the others talk, he hears them both begin to chant when the wind picks up. Everyone goes silent as their throats glow, they watch as the light hits the girls and the wind stops. The guards run up and point their spears at the girls.
"I am sorry," the curly hair one says. "We could not understand you so we asked the Gods to help us."
"You can commune with the Gods?" Shimon asks.
"Yes, we learned how to from our Magi mother," the second girl says.
"Who are you and where did you come from?" Aknamkanon asks.
"I am Gabrielle and this is my sister Maria," the first introduces. "We came from a village in Thebes."
"If you are allies of ours, then show your faces," Aknadin growls.
The girls look at one another and remove their masks, the adults were not expecting the girls to have such light tan skin as well as different eye colors. Gabrielle has dark brown eyes while Maria has blue-green eyes, as well both have strong magic aura around them.
"Why are you here?" Aknamkanon asks.
"We are going where the wind takes us," Maria says. "We have no home to return to so we wander in hopes of finding a place to call home."
"Please, great Pharaoh, will you allow us to stay here?" Gabrielle asks, as both girls bow low to the ground.
"My Pharaoh, what shall we do with them?" Shimon asks. "They saved our people and healed them."
"But they are not from our land," Aknadin points out. "They could try to kill the Pharaoh with their strange magic."
"I doubt that, if it were true, they would have killed Prince Atem and Seto before they could be found," Another adult says.
"Peace," Aknamkanon says. "They will be welcomed, however, they will be servants here to prove their loyalty. They will be watched by the guards and their weapons taken. If they try any magic towards anyone, they will be reprimanded. If they cause too much trouble, they will be sent away, far from our land and kingdom. Brother, I can trust you to keep an eye on these girls?"
"As you command, my Pharaoh," Aknadin bows.
"Guards, take these girls to the servants quarters, they shall have their own room. Have Isis and Mana teach them all they need to know."
The guards bow and go to the girls, the two thank Aknamkanon and praise him to the Gods. Aknadin watches as the girls leave, something about them is stronger than anyone realizes. He cannot be sure if they can be trusted or not.
"They are staying here?" Mahad asks.
"Yes, Isis and I have to help them get settled," Mana says.
"Can they really be trusted though?"
"Mahad! They risked their lives for our people, I think that is proof enough."
"I agree with Mana," Atem says. "No one would do that if they could not be trusted."
"I say we still be careful," Seto says, not looking up from his scroll. "They are not from here and we cannot be sure what they will do."
"I agree with Seto," Mahad says. "We should keep our eyes open until we know they can be trusted."
"You two are so mean," Mana pouts.
"We aren't mean, we are careful," Seto says. "They may have saved our people but that means little when it comes to staying near the royal family."
"I am sure they will prove themselves, cousin," Atem says.
They all look over towards the hall to see the two girls with Isis, they have changed into servants' clothing and they can tell they girls are a bit uncomfortable. They seem to stand out more in their new clothes as their skin is a bit lighter than Isis and everyone around them. Their hair also makes them stand out as it is different, Maria's hair is a light brown almost red while Gabrielle's is dark but curly.
(Two months later)
Atem is walking around the garden when he notices Gabrielle sitting at the pond, she is commanding the water to move to her will. Atem smiles seeing her sweet smile, as he walks over to her. She looks up and drops the water, she stands and bows to him.
"My Prince," Gabrielle says.
"Please, straighten yourself," Atem says. "Why are you here alone?"
"I love being near the water, it is calming and cool when you are in the hot sun working, my prince."
"Please, call me Atem."
"Atem..." Gabrielle whispers. "Such a strong name."
Atem smiles more as Gabrielle moves to get back to work in the garden. Atem decides to stay and get to know Gabrielle a bit more. Meanwhile, Maria is in the library assisting Shada with sorting the books. The two have gotten close with Maria's time in the library, she would tell him stories of her home and what she learned from her mothers.
"Shada," Seto calls.
"Hello Seto," Shada says as Maria bows.
"I need the book on the Gods history, where is it?"
"I will get it for you," Maria says, climbing the bookshelves ladder.
She grabs the book and jumps from the ladder. This causes Seto to get a bit concerned but she lands and holds the book out to him.
"Thank you, but was jumping necessary?" Seto asks.
"It's more fun that way," Maria answers.
"You are a strange one," Seto mumbles before leaving.
"So what if I am strange?" Maria calls. "It's better than being someone I am not!"
Seto looks back at her before walking out of the library. Shada laughs a bit as Maria pouts, she is strange but that is what makes her interesting.
"Gabrielle, Maria," Shimon calls, walking to the two girls.
"Hello Master," the two girls bow.
"The Pharaoh would like for you two to go and speak to him, now."
"Of course."
The two girls head towards the throne room, both nervous and worried. Did they mess something up? What did they do wrong? They knock on the door before opening it, they walk in and bow to Pharaoh Aknamkanon.
"I have heard that you two have snuck out of the palace at night," Aknamkanon says. "The guards have seen you two fight one another near the Nile."
The two stiffen, have they lost their touch when sneaking around? What is going to happen to them now?
"As well, I heard that you had taken down that thief that broke into the servants' quarters. Where did you two learn to fight?"
"O-our mother was a former Amazon," Maria explains. "She left so she could be with our Magi mother. When she found us, she taught us everything we know about fighting."
"Found you?" Aknadin asks.
"We were abandoned in the forest," Gabrielle says. "We were raised by wolves for six years before our mothers found us."
"Hmm, I want to see your skills. Go to the training grounds, my men will test you," Aknamkanon orders.
The two nod and head to the training grounds with the Pharaoh and his brother.
"Do you think this is a wise decision?" Aknadin asks. "They are only young girls."
"They have proved themselves already brother," Aknamkanon says. "Let us see if they can be more useful as guards to our sons."
Aknadin nods, they both know that their sons are targets by their enemies and the guards are also protecting them as well. It would be for the best if they had their own personal guards. The brothers watch as the young girls fight against the men, both holding their own. While it seems both are strong warriors, Gabrielle seems to be more of the magic user. She enhances her weapons with spells while Maria fights normally.
"I will have to say Maria would be the best one for a guard, maybe Gabrielle should study along with Mana and Mahad," Aknadin says.
"I agree," Aknamkanon agrees. "Guards, bring Mahad here now."
"Yes, Pharaoh," the guard says.
A few minutes later Mahad walks up with Mana close behind, near the doorway, Atem, Seto, Shada and Isis are watching the scene.
"What do you think is going on?" Isis whispers.
"I am not sure," Shada says. "But it looks like it has to do with the two greek servants."
"It must be serious though," Isis says. "I have never seen the Pharaoh this serious before."
"Do you think they are in trouble?" Shada asks.
"They have been here for two months without issue," Atem says. "I am sure it is not that."
They watch as Maria and Gabrielle bow to the Pharaoh and Aknadin, the two men are smiling which confuses the children. Soon the four children walk up to the other four.
"So, what happened?" Isis asks.
"Gabrielle will also be studying Magic with Mana while Maria is going to be Seto and Prince Atem's new guard," Mahad says.
"Really?" Seto asks.
Gabrielle and Maria smile and nod their heads, Atem smiles he knew they were trustworthy.
Later that night, Seto and Atem notice the two sisters watching the moon from the garden. They both have a sad smile on their faces, the cousins share a look, why do they look so sad? Did something happen to them that make them sad in the moon's light? The cousins go to them and they talk about things no one else knows, each feeling that they can trust the other. This trust will tie them together forever but will something more come out of it?
Well this is fun! More will be coming soon and it will not be as...weird as it is now. I hope you all are enjoying the story!
