I'm curious about what you guys think, but what if Sakura had got a talk about her fangirl attitude at a young age. How much stronger would she be than what was shown in cannon. Strong Sakura not godlike, but a very strong Sakura.

Chapter 2: Promises that don't last

1 Year later…

"Get out of my way Inopig" said a now 9 year old Sakura that was currently pushing away against Ino in attempt to get the seat that was next to her beloved Sasuke-Kun. "No you get out of my way forehead", Said by a now 9 old Ino who was also pushing against Sakura in attempt to get towards Sasuke. Both Sakura and Ino ended on either side of Sasuke, who actually look annoyed as both girls started arguing at each other. "Hello Sasuke-Kun how was your morning" said by Ino who was trying to look sexy as she flutter eyes but, it kind of made her look creepy. Of course Sakura wanted Ino to know that and pointed "Ewe you look creepy Ino, Sasuke-Kun doesn't want someone who's that creepy". As she finishes her sentence she looks at Sasuke and ask "Right Sasuke". Somehow despite both girls hearing "Your both creepy" it seemed to go over their heads as they continue to argue. Similarly Iruka walked in and had to use his Big Head Jutsu to quite his class and proceed on to teach.

2 Hours later…

"Grrrr" thought Sakura who was now eating her lunch while still glaring at Ino with eyes of death. Ino was also glaring at her as she ate, funny though if someone was to look at both girls then the person would probably start laughing at the scene of two adorable girls trying to look intimidating. But anyway back to the story.

"Hey Sakura-Chan, I was wondering if you wanted to eat with me" said a now nine old blonde named Naruto Uzumaki. Sakura turned her head in anger before saying "No Naruto-baka, I don't want to eat with you, now leave me alone". As she said that she punches him on top of his head before resuming her starring match with Ino.

4 Hours later…

Class had now ended and Sakura was now walking home while it rained. Of course she came prepare with an umbrella and she walk while thinking about many things like her love for Sasuke and hatred for Ino and any other girl who like him. As she walked down towards her home she saw Sasuke standing there by himself without an umbrella.

"Bingo, perfect opportunity to win Sasuke-kun affection" Sakura said with a determine look on her face as she walk towards. Finally reaching Sasuke she says "Sasuke-kun, here I have an umbrella let's walk home together so that you don't get wet". Sasuke who was now looking at her with look of disgust said "Leave me alone". As he said that Sakura looks up to see an older woman who hair was black and was wearing a black dress while calling Sasuke to come here. Sakura heard the response "Ok Mom" and Sasuke walked away; While Sakura could only watch him walk away. With each he step he took getting farther away from her she felt heart lurch itself from its place wishing him to at least say goodbye to her. "I wonder what I'm doing wrong, I'm always nice to him, and I praise him and am always there for anything that he might need". Sakura turned still thinking while walking back towards the direction of her house while still in her thoughts. "Am I not pretty enough for his affection, does he not like girls with long hair or...is it because of my forehead, "No it can't be that so what it is I'm doing wrong".

As Sakura kept walking the rain only seemed to get harsher and harsher she turned her head down and accidentally bump. Looking up she saw a woman who had black hair that people could mistake for purple that was tide in a knot so that her hair spike upwards. She look at the older woman she saw the woman attire and couldn't, but shudder at the fishnet that reveal too much and her trench coat. She contemplated "Ugh her attire is too provocative and is something that Ino-pig would wear". As Sakura kept thinking her face turned to a look of disgusts as she thought about Ino.

"Ahem!" said the woman who looking down at the little girl who had bumped into her, she saw the little girl face turned from thinking to a look of disgusts before saying "Is there problem brat". The lady watched Sakura face go to disgust to confusion before hearing "Sorry for bumping into you lady". The lady feeling a little snarky decided to mess with the little girl and said "That's what I thought brat". As she finished she walked and decided to count in her head for a potential response.

"3...2…1… and"

'What did you say" said Sakura who look at the lady with anger. "Bingo" thought the lady as she smirks at the little girl before responding "I said, that's what I thought brat". As the lady finish she inch her face at the level of Sakura's height so that she could see Sakura's reaction. Sakura's reaction was "Look lady, I don't know what you're problem was, I apologize and now you're being mean for no reason". The lady listening responded with "And you bumped into me and then made a look of disgust at me". Said the lady before watching the little girl face go into confusion before hearing "Oh, that look wasn't towards you it was towards someone I know". The lady didn't say anything before saying "Sure brat" as she says that she starts walking away. As she walks almost about to turn a corner she hears little footsteps run towards her and hears a "Wait", the lady stops and slowly turns her head to look at the little girl who seemed to be out of breath already. As Sakura stops in front of the lady she looks up and asks "Can I ask you a question". As she finished she sees the lady nod as to say go on and Sakura continues "How do you win a boys heart and affection". The lady listens to the question and couldn't help but stare at the little girl in confusion before replying "How to win a boys heart". At seeing the little girl nod she responds "Well first you- wait aren't you like eight and too young to be asking those questions".

Hearing the lady responds Sakura says "Well I'm nine and no I'm not too young to be asking those questions, so do you know the answer". The woman just stared at Sakura and thought "Fuck it I'm bored anyway, might as well humor this brat for my sake". The lady nodded before saying "First brat, the names Anko and, yes I do know the answer now walk with me". Sakura couldn't help but, be happy at hearing Anko say that she has the answer to her problem. Thinking "Yes with me getting the answer, I'll be one more step to Sasuke's heart than Inopig, Ha take that". Sakura smiled as she walked with Anko.

10 Minutes Later…

Anko seeing the destination she was heading towards jumps on a tree branch and sits down on it while taking out some dango before saying "All right brat, now before I answer your question I need to know everything about your problem from start to finish Ok, Now Go". Sakura listens before starting "Ok my name is Sakura Haruno, I go the ninja academy. The boy that I like no love is Sasuke Uchiha and I know that he is my destined soul mate. Now the problem that I have is that no matter what I say or do it doesn't seem to work in getting him to like me or even notice me. I've complemented him dozens of times, I've made him bentos to eat and I know that my food is way better than Inopig or any other girl that seems to like him. I've cheered him on for whenever we have taijutsu matches or shuriken practice or kunai practice. I've done everything that I can think of to get him to notice me. I've also-

1 Hour Later...

"I've also kept his seat warm by purposely sitting on it myself and I made him cupcakes for desert and I-

Another 1 hour later…

Anko could tell that she was starting to get gray hairs as she listens to Sakura talk on and on. Seeing Sakura distanced by her blabbering, Anko made a rock clone to get her some more dango while saying. "Ok brat you've made your point on how much you love your Sasuke-kun by doing anything and everything for him". She finishes before seeing her clone come back with her dango in hand before being handed the said dango. She presses on "Now from what I can tell it's really simple as to why he doesn't respond to you the way you wish he did, do you want to know why". At seeing Sakura happy nod she continues "So it's like this the reason he doesn't respond is because 1) He just doesn't like you and 2) He doesn't like little fangirls at all, so far with me brat". As Anko turned her head at Sakura she hears "Sniff, Sniff".

Anko upon seeing Sakura tearing up thinks "Ah shit, she's crying well she is nine, but making a little girl cry like doesn't sit well with me or my rep". Anko seeing her cry jumps down her branch and says, "Look brat, my bad for making you cry…eh eye contact" Anko says to get Sakura to look at her in the eyes and continues "So look, I'm sorry making you cry and for making you feel bad it's just well it's the truth even if you don't like to hear it, And besides let me ask you this ok". Upon seeing Sakura slowly nod Anko ask "Why do you like or love him so much in the first place".

Sakura still sniffling a little says "Well I love him because he's so cool and dark and mysterious and he's the best at everything". As she finishes answering she could see Anko cringe at her response as Anko starts talking "Well it seems that you don't really love, but harbor a superficial crush on him-

"That's not true I do love him". Anko seeing that she interrupted didn't get upset, but just shook her head at the stubborn response and replied "Do you want the honest truth or not…" Anko let her question sit as she waited for Sakura's answer. After 3 minutes she hears "Ok I'll listen and sorry". Nodding Anko continues "So what I mean is that you only like him because of what you see at first glance. What I mean is that you don't really know the real him you just see how good he is at fighting or throwing kunai or whatever. If you really loved him you would truly…truly…and truly know him inside out and I'm not talking about facts about him mind you, I mean that you know him like only you would know him and that he knows you as well. However that's not what's happening and I'll ask because I am curious why you don't let go of your crush for him when every time you try he doesn't even say thank you, like your only wasting your time on him".

Sakura opened her mouth to answer, but stopped as she contemplated Anko's question. "Why do I like him so much, why do I follow him like a puppy and cheer for everything that he does". "And why…do I keep trying for his affection when day in and day out he doesn't respond or even say thank you to anything that I would do for him". Sakura didn't say anything for a while before finally replying "Anko I…I don't really know why I follow him despite everytime I try and he doesn't reciprocate my feelings". Anko just ask "Can you think of anything that could of trigger your fandish attitude because don't get me wrong having a crush is normal, it is, but having a crush that last that long when at every turn you tried and he doesn't respond it isn't normal Sakura".

Hearing that she ask "What do you mean Anko, the other girls do it too and had feelings just as long as I have", Anko hearing the question just responded "What I mean is that once again if you have a crush on someone that's fine it's normal, but once you try once, twice or hell even three times to get the person's affection and it doesn't work you should cut your losses and stop pining after that person that you like". Sakura seemed sad hearing that and knew that logically Anko was right about what she was saying and thought "She is right and does make a good point, it's just I don't want to lose to Inopig and the other girls and I want to prove to them that I'm more than just some big foreheaded girl". As Sakura thought she snapped before saying "I know why I kept going after him despite his rejections, the reason I kept going after him as because I didn't want to lose to Inopig and to the other girls. I wanted to prove that civilian girl could get the Uchiha heir affection."

Hearing the answer Anko nodded with her arms crossed while replying "Good so at least you know why you did the things that that you did, now second question and this question is really important so think real hard about it Ok". At seeing Sakura nod, Anko ask "Why do you want to be a ninja in the first place and I don't want some trivial answer I want a solid answer now think about it while sitting by that tree while I go get some dango, I'll be back in a an hour and I'll want an answer got it". Seeing the nod Anko walked off to get some of her precious dango.

As Anko walked away, Sakura thought about the question seriously and asked herself while walking towards the tree "Why do I want to be a ninja…

1 Hour later…

"Munch, munch, munch" is all you can hear as Anko finally reach the tree to see Sakura still there. Anko said "Hey brat, I hope you have a very good answer to my question" as she walked closer to Sakura. Sakura hearing Anko footsteps and munching sounds looks up and hears Anko statement before standing and smiling at her as she waited. She watched as Anko lazily jump on the tree branch and sat down while eating another dango. Hearing the "Ok brat, I'm ready". Sakura speaks "I want to be a ninja because I realize that I want to make my family proud and show that a person born from a civilian family could become a strong ninja. I realize that there are threats out that I don't know about but, considering that us ninjas are still needed for action, I want to be strong enough to protect my family and the people within this village and even those I might not know, I want to be strong enough to save them, and my last thought is I don't want to remain as a fangirl".

"Clap, Clap, Clap" The sound of clapping could be heard as Anko slowly clap at the response she was given and proceeded to hop down from her branch and say "Good very good answer brat, that's what I wanted to hear from you, now if you want to become a ninja you're going to have to cut these things from your life, are you ready". At seeing Sakura nod she pressed forward "Ok you're going to have 1) Stop fawning at the Uchiha brat and from your answer I can see that you see that. 2) You're going to have to eat more instead of some boring ass salad like take me for example, I love dango more than I love breathing, but even I know that I have to eat more healthy foods in order to become strong and stay fit. 3) You have, no you must…train like you never train before, if all you ever did for the next three years is fawn over that Uchiha bra and manage to pass the genin exams you would be very and I me pathetically weak, in that if you were placed on a team you would not only endanger yourself, but also your fellow teammates now you follow". At seeing Sakura nod she continue "So now that you what you have to do it's up to…you and only…you to push yourself to become the ninja you envisioned as yourself Ok". "Yes mam" said Sakura as she proceed and ask two questions "Anko can you train me and second what is a ninja best skill to learn".

Feeling surprised at Sakura's question, Anko almost choke on her food and thought for a second before responding "Ok brat, first I can't train you, and it's not for any stupid reason or that I don't like you or think you're not worthy to train granted I would want to test you before consider taking you as a student, but the reason is because ever since the Uchiha massacre leaving only the woman and children alive the village has been even more paranoid about security and that I simply would never be around to actually teach you…understand".

"Yes" said Sakura

"Ok and as for your second question as to what's the best skill for a ninja to have is deception, now let me explain that you can be the most powerful ninja and know all the best ninjutsu's and genjustu's, but still lose in a battle having the enemy know all you're cards within an deck, but if you can hide you're true skills especially from your enemies than you have the best chance to catch them off guard and finish them, knowing that your enemy doesn't think highly of you leaves you with the best advantage because they won't try really hard now you understand". Hearing the "Yes Anko", Anko thought of one more thing that Sakura should be aware of just in case she can make to become a ninja. Anko starts off "Hey brat, there's one more thing you have to be aware when becoming a ninja Ok" Seeing the nod she proceeds "Now if you're truly serious or going to become serious about being a ninja you already know that it's really important to train and eat right, but what you need to be aware of are the dangers and I'm not talking about just dying, no since you're a girl you must be prepare for anything because in this world for a female ninja there are those might get either killed, tortured and sadly even raped if caught by the enemy, That why I'm telling you this now because I don't want you thinking that the only danger is dying, You got that".

Sakura listening paled at the mention of torture or raped and nodded at now knowing the risk she would take if she became a ninja, but said in a strong voice "I won't let that deter me from what I want". Anko nodded before replying "All right brat, I'm headed off to a mission so stay safe and become strong". As she walked away and was about to leave she heard "Thank you Anko for waking me up from a genjutsu that I was living, I won't ever forget your advice and will forge ahead". Anko feeling proud didn't turn around but replied "Good and you better not forget what I told you now Ja ne". As she finish she disappear in a body flicker jutsu. As Sakura watch Anko leave, she thought about everything that she learned and realize that in addition to becoming stronger that she could rebuild her friendship with Ino.

Next Day…

Walking towards the academy was Sakura who was thinking about everything Anko said and also thought about Ino. "I really do miss Ino; I wish we didn't have to be rivals for some guy that doesn't even give us the time of day". "What happened to our friendship, I…remember making that promise with her to still keep our friend intact no matter what and the both of us couldn't keep it". Sakura stopped thinking while entering her classroom to look for Ino, as she craned her head like a radar she spotted Ino within the heart of fangirl valley. As she approaches Ino she watches as Ino arm wrestles some girl while Ino was saying "My love for Sasuke-kun is GREATER THAN YOURS". P.S. This line made me though about Pain when he fought Naruto ha.

Anyway Ino slammed her opponents hand on the opposite side making her the winner and she quickly jumps from her seat while parading around saying "Ha I win again". Sakura could only watch in amusement and sadness; for the amusement it was funny to see Ino dance, but for the bad part it was for seeing what happened to her friend. As she finally stops she reaches out with her hand and touches Ino's shoulder to get her attention. Ino feeling someone touch her turns around to see Sakura standing there and ask "What is forehead, do you wanna go at arm wrestling as well and lose to me". Sakura shook her in negative fashion signaling no as she didn't come here for a fight while hearing an "I thought so". Quickly ignoring that Sakura ask in a nice voice "Hey Ino can we just talk, no shouting, no arguing just talk after school, I would want to talk now, but Iruka sensei just walk in". Ino just stared at Sakura for a couple of seconds before replying "Ok forehead we can talk after". As she finishes her response, she spots Sasuke quickly and run towards him before claiming the seat that was right next to him.

For Sakura well she just sat at a seat by someone person she didn't know and started taking notes.

After school

Sakura stood outside the school to wait for Ino, as she watch Ino tell her parents that she would be home later, she watched as Ino approach and say "Ok forehead I'm all ears so what is you want to talk about". Hearing Ino, Sakura looks around to see the school front yard is pretty much empty and starts "Look Ino, I want to apologize for forgetting how important our friendship was and for breaking that promise, I realize that for me to become a strong ninja that I have to focus on myself more and not just follow Sasuke like he's some god. What I'm trying to say is that I want to be friends again and go to the days where we used to do our hair together, talked about latest gossip that you would hear from you're father and just be happy and of course have you train with me so that we both can become stronger together".

As she listened to Sakura, she couldn't help but be skeptical and proclaim by saying "Really Sakura, do you take me for a fool, I know that you want Sasuke-kun just as much as I do and now you expect for me to believe that you changed your mind". Sakura only shook her head before saying "Yes, Ino I used like Sasuke, but I really want to be friends again". Ino started walking back in forth while saying "Look Sakura this ploy that you're trying pull is a clever one, I'll give you that in a sense that your big forehead is good for something other just book smarts, to think that you would try that tactic on me though of all people shows just how bold and devious you are". Sakura ignore the comment despite feeling a little irritated by how stubborn Ino was acting before replying "Ino I'm really serious I don't like Sasuke anymore and besides he doesn't even like me or you. He doesn't give any of us the time of day and ignores us, can't you see that at all". Finished Sakura while waiting for Ino to respond heard "So you admit that he would never fall for you and that you're love for him is not greater than mines". All Ino heard was a slap as Sakura slapped her forehead in frustration while Ino continued "And besides why would he like you when you wear such an ugly dress, your voice sounds like an harlot and forehead is big enough to hold the hokage monument". Ino finish before looking at Sakura to see that Sakura had her head down and was balling her fist very tightly.

Sakura who was on the verge of crying stood there absorbing all of Ino's blows and thought to herself "Is there really no way for me to reach to her, does she really thinks about me about like that". As Sakura finishes her train of thought she lifts her head to stare at Ino while asking "Do you really think that way about me, do you really despise me that much". Without a second Ino replied "Forehead your my rival, I'm supposed to despise you and nothing will change that". Sakura calm her nerves while releasing her balled fist and ask one last time "Ok Ino, I get it no matter what I do or say, hell even if I promised on my heart that I would stopped going after Sasuke that you never…ever believe me correct". Ino just nodded while Sakura started to walk from her before stopping herself to say once last thing just loud enough just for Ino to hear her loud and clear "Just for how mean you were…I'm definitely going after Sasuke-Kun now, goodbye Inopig". Finish with her statement she just walk away with her head help high up while ignoring Ino's shrieks of "I KNEW IT".

At night…

Sakura now layed in her bed while looking at the ceiling she was also reviewing over and over about what transpire hours ago and thought "Well so much for trying to be friends again, I still can't believe that she wouldn't believe me even if I promised that I would not go after him. Hmm well going go after Sasuke would really be just a waste of time, but…

Flashback

She remember the talk Anko gave her and really remember "Ok and as for your second question as to what's the best skill for a ninja to have is deception" And "knowing that your enemy doesn't think highly of you leaves you with the best advantage because they won't try really hard now you understand".

End of Flashback

"That's it!" said Sakura as she launch herself out of bed while saying "Ok so the best way for me to use deception is to act like I'm still a fangirl and have everyone believe that I lacked everything, but brain smarts. I'll have to act like I still like Sasuke in front of everybody especially in front of Ino, but the moment school ends I can train and become much stronger than anyone would ever think or me becoming. This is great ah, I can't wait".
