Chapter 9
Jess looked around as Stubby let her into the recording studio. She smiled as she heard Chris's voice. She'd had a text from him saying he'd almost finished and he wanted her to come and hear the song. So her mother had dropped her off.
Stubby lead her back to the studio Chris was in and found him sat with his band listening to the track as it played. She smiled as she saw him nodding in time, she walked over to him and draped her arms around his neck. He made no sound but acknowledged her by placing a hand on hers as he carried on mouthing along to the music.
Within in minutes the track at finished.
"What did you think?" he asked, as he stood up and turned around taking her hands in his.
"I loved it," smiled Jess.
"Good because I'm dedicating it to you," answered Chris, before he leaned in to kiss her.
"Really?" asked Jessica.
"Well I'm done for the day you wanna get out of here?" asked Chris.
"There's paps outside," answered Jessica.
"I know that's why were going out the back way," answered Chris.
"You know I really don't care about the paps," said Jess, as they drove away from the studio.
"I do they're like leeches they will not leave you alone there is no such thing as privacy once they have you in there sights," answered Chris. "If you went home and got a cold or an A* on your test they would report it. If we broke up – not that we are – they would still follow you. I just want to protect you from them"
"That's really sweet," smiled Jess. "So what are we doing?"
As Jess and Chris peeled on in Chris's car his phoned shrilled and Jessica pulled off her over sized jumper to reveal a simple grey, slightly baggy tank top.
"Chris keep your eyes on the road," laughed Jess, as she caught him staring at her.
"I would if my girlfriend was stripping in the seat next to me.
"I'm not stripping," answered Jess, playfully hitting him the arm.
Chris's phone shrilled again.
"Want me to get that for you?" asked Jessica.
"Sure it's in my front pocket," answered Chris.
Jess looked at him, he laughed and pulled the phone out of his pocket handing it to her.
"It's Alexis, said Jess.
"Yeah I think we'll leave that," answered Chris.
Jess nodded and chucked the phone in the cup holder before leaning back in the seat to enjoy the drive that would take them who knows where.
