Chapter 12

"Where's Sara?" asked Jessica.

"She went back to the car," said her mom.

"Good this is not how I wanted her to find out," said Jessica.

"Who is this?" asked her dad.

"This is Chris my boyfriend," said Jessica.

"Aren't you that popstar Sara is so mad about?" asked her dad.

"Yes," answered Chris.

"How?" he asked.

"Why don't we sit down and eat?" asked her Granma. "They can tell us."

Food was passed out.

"What happened to you two?" asked Mrs Olsen.

"I fell in a mud puddle, Chris fell in the pond and pulled me in," answered Jessica.

"So the story?" asked her dad.

"We met on the beach about two weeks ago and hung out," said Jessica. "It went from there."

Jessica and Chris headed to sit on a branch a few meters away, in eye sight but out of ear shot.

"So that went ok," said Chris.

"It would have been a lot different in Sara had been there," said Jessica.

"No doubt," answered Chris.

The couple sat and chatted as the afternoon passed and never noticed footsteps get closer to them.

"Mom! Dad!," shouted Sara.

"Over here hunny," shouted her dad, forgetting about the popstar near them

"OH MY GOD!" shouted Sara.

This snapped Jessica and Chris out of the embrace they had been in and when they turned to source of the sound Sara saw just who her sister had been kissing.

"Sara not a word," said their mother.

"But but," she stuttered.

"Can we go back?" whispered Jessica.

"Yeah," answered Chris.

They stood up.

"Mom Chris is going to take me back," said Jessica.

"If you don't mind I'd like to take your daughter out tonight," he said.

Her mother nodded and the pair walked off Sara staring behind them.

"Sara," said her mother. "Not one word. To anyone at all. Do you understand?"

"Yes," grumbled Sara. "Is there any sandwiches left?"
