"So James, what are you doing for Thanksgiving this year?" Rosalie, the angel, interrupted, changing the topic completely away from money; hopefully.
"Jane wants to come here, as usually" He laughs, "And I have no complaints. Mom, you oughta get the holiday table out."
"Yeah, where is that mom?" Edward asked.
"It's in the storage shed out back. I put it back there after the repairs after someone,: she paused to glare at Jasper and myself. "Chipped off the edge."
"What happened?" Emmett asked, wanting to be a part of the conversation again.
James, Edward and Rose laughed, my father cracked a smile, and Jasper and I shrunk in our seats. "It was the greatest thing." Edward giggled.
"Edward." Mom warned. "Well, Emmett dear, two people were playing an intense game of strip poker." She was cut of my Gia choking in surprise on her carrot. "Said people had broken into our wine cooler, and had a little less than a bottle, by them. Becoming clumsy with them, one boy reached across the table, in efforts to take of one girls bra, as, I guess, she was cheating. She, being clumsier than usual, collapsed out of her chair, and he followed. The two chased each other around the room, one vomited on the table, fell, and hit his head on the edge, breaking a corner off. All the while, their friends and sibling watched on in humor. I came home to find the two passed out on the floor. Both were grounded for, how long was it Carlisle?"
"Two and a half months Esme." He chuckled.
I sat up in my seat a little. "In our defense, James, Edward, and Rose had all bailed on the game before we broke out the wine. We were on our third round."
"I don't care Bella. You broke my table!" My mother's voice rose a bit.
"You're mad about your broken table, a materialistic piece, rather than your children playing strip poker. With a 40 year old man."
"I'm in my thirties, thanks lady. And they're siblings and friends. I changed their diapers." James said, offended.
"How we choose to raise our children is no matter of yours Gia." Carlisle said, his tone becoming clipped.
"So uh... mom who is coming to Thanksgiving?"
"Well James and the girls" I counted on my fingers, seven, "you, Edward, Rose, Jasper, obviously" Eleven, "Charlie, and Angela," thirteen, "Barbra, Richard" fifteen, "Your Aunt Sue, Jacob, Billy, Leah, Seth, and Rachel," twenty one.
"Good hell" she glared at me, "You invited twenty one people this year? We don't usually invite Sue and them down.."
"How can you all manage to fit?" Alice asked.
"The Holiday table fits 25 at the least. That's with plenty of elbow room."
"Where do you eat? Surely this dining room can't fit that big of a table?" Gia seems honestly curious.
"We take the table down into the basement and eat there. I usually hire a catering company to serve for us, we don't have the proper equipment. I'll make the food, they just serve for us." My mom said. "Would you all like to join us?" Ah mom. Don't invite them. Well Emmett's okay, but his parents and Alice? Why? Why is my mom so polite?
"Oh uhm. It is our first Thanksgiving away from my parents." Gia said, mulling it over. "We'll think about it okay?"
I was glaring at my mother. "Emmett, Have you met my cousin Angela yet? Or Jenna? Angela is a year younger than I am, she's in our lunch hour, and Jenna is a year younger too. She's in out AP math class. They both usually sit with Mike Newton, and Ben."
"Oh, I've seen her, but I haven't met her." He replied.
"I have! I Love them! They are so cute! I sit with them at lunch lately. Jenna is so funny. She told me how her and her cousins once got in trouble for jumping off a cliff?"
"Oh god." Edward groaned, as did Rose.
"Don't remind us." Jasper and I said simultaneously.
"That was you?" Alice inquired.
"Yes." We all chorused.
"James lost his shit." Edward said, earning a slap from my mother, beside him.
"Of course I did! You guys jumped off of a cliff! I almost lost not only my daughter, by my brothers, sisters, and cousin!"
"Uhm. Mister James. May I ask why you call Jasper and Rosalie your siblings?" Megan asked shyly.
"We do because Jasper and Rose grew up with us." I said, looking at her. "They are basically our siblings. Except for Rose and Edward. They're more like husband and wife." The two laughed at that.
"Like they're together?" Derrick asked.
"Sure are kiddo." Edward said, grabbing Roses hand in the process.
"So…are you and Emmy like husband and wife then?" Megan asked innocently.
However innocent she was, Emmett, Gia, and Alice choked, I blushed, Edward, Rose, and Jasper laughed, and my parents and James just smiled.
"I guess you could say that kiddo.." Emmett said, appeasing his sister.
"So she's like my sister then?"
"If you want me to be" I replied.
"Yay!" She squealed.
"Cool. Here give me some" Derrick said, giving me a fist bump.
"I can't even get a fist bump from you bud." Alice said, downtrodden.
"Oh uhm.."
"Anyway! What do you kids do for fun around here?" Roger asked.
"Well we cheer" Rose replied.
"We hike a lot." Edward added.
"We love camping at the lake." Jasper continued.
"I love when we all drive our bikes to Port Angeles." I said.
"You ride bicycles an hour away?" Roger said, astonished.
"No, we take our motorcycles"
Gia nearly spat her food out. "Motorcycles? What kind?"
"Ducati's." Jasper said, enthused on his favorite subject.
"Oh my god. Is there anything they don't have" She said to Roger.
"We don't have judgment issues" In whispered so low I thought no one could hear me.
Jasper, however, laughed from my side, and hit my back, Emmett didn't hear, but glared the slightest bit at Jasper as he whispered in my ear.
"I don't like his parents"
"Me either."
"Emmett. Your girlfriend has another boyfriend" Megan said.
I sat up straight and looked at Gia, who was glaring at me. "Jasper dear, how is your mother?" Esme asked. "I haven't heard from her in forever." My mother's forever was probably more like a day, if not an hour.
"She's good Esme, she said to give you and Carlisle a big kiss on the cheek. But I'm not going to do that."
"I will" Rose laughed, kissing my parents on the cheek.
"Come now. Lets gather in the living room for our coffee shall we?"
"Esme we don't drink coffee." Gia said.
"What." Edward, Rose, Jasper and I said all at once. For one she didn't get that coffee meant desert basically, and who the fuck doesn't like coffee.
"If I may, when my wife says coffee she means desert. Aren't we having quiche tonight dear?" My dad said.
"Yes. I'll grab it." She replied.
"I'll help you mom." Edward said, getting out of his seat.
"Bella, why don't you kids clear the table while we head to the family room yes?"
"Yussum" I said, leading the way.
"Don't you guys have people for this?" Megan asked innocently as we piled the now empty dishes into the sink. Megan and I were doing dishes, Emmet was drying, and Jasper was putting them away. Rose and Alice were wiping counters and the table, and Derrick was helping Jasper put them away.
I laughed, "Sometimes. Not regularly do we have maids. We use to but my mom prefers to do house work herself. I think she's crazy."
"Mom thinks she's crazy to." Rosalie replied to me.
"Our mom hates housework." Megan said. Alice had been extensively quiet through this whole ordeal.
"Ouch" I said as Jasper whipped my behind with his rag. "What was that for?!"
"It's just so perfect I couldn't resist." He laughed.
Emmett's jaw clenched as he turned to Jasper, i could see the jealousy in his eyes.
