Alpha and Omega: The Accepted
Sirius' POV
"I'm never asking directions from that idiot again" I growled, sitting next to Drake.
He chuckled and licked my cheek, he always did when we were lost together. He thought my fustrated face was cute and adorable. I growled and looked around, trying to sniff out any indication, if there was one, of Conrad being around anywhere. Meanwhile, I felt Drake nuzzling against me, trying to get me to return the favor so we could cuddle or something else that he wanted to do which wasn't exactly appropriate at this given time.
"Forget Conrad for a bit, Sweetheart" Drake said, putting his head under my chin "Let's make out a little"
I growled and pushed him away, if he would just stop and go away I might've found Conrad by now!
"You're so mean to your boyfriend..." He whimpered, looking away and acting hurt.
"You're not my boyfriend, I still haven't decided if I'm going to take you back" I replied, pushing him away even furthur.
He whimpered and acted even more hurt, he then proceeded to go up and nuzzle me as if asking me to apolgize for what I said. He would gently press his head against mine and the whimper before taking a quick lick of my cheek. I blushed hard when he did this, mostly because of the way he touched me even though we weren't together anymore.
"I'm still not apologizing" I answered, looking away.
He whined yet again, looking down and acting even more sad than he already was. I was so distracted by the act that I didn't register who was approaching us.
"Now Sirius, haven't I taught you to apologize whenever you do something wrong to someone?"
I knew the voice the moment I heard it say my name. I looked back and saw the face of someone I wouldn've never expected to see, a wolf that I used to pick on because of his size but now he stood taller than me. Candu. He shook his head at my rudeness, his paw on his head as he let out a slight growl in fustration and walked slowly over to me.
"Apologize to Drake" He ordered.
I stared at him in disbelief. He was ordering me, all of a sudden, to apologize to Drake when he wasn't even supposed to be here?! Drake even looked surprised. Both of us backed away from the Alpha and made nervous laughter. It was then that we heard someone else cough for attention. Turning around, we saw two other wolves, one with grey fur and a long black mane, we both recongized the wolf ahead of us as Hutch. The other, all a silver fur that shined as it hit the sunlight and he looked down at us with one eyebrow raised, the wolf we knew as Byron.
"Going somewhere, Boys?" The silver wolf asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Uhhhh...no, Sir!" Drake replied, adressing Byron as an Alpha who was higher rank than himself.
"Really?" Hutch intervined, stepping up to Drake.
I got worried when Hutch stepped up. Hutch was the closest thing Drake had to a father, and Leon was considered his mother; the white wolf used to get pissed whenever I said that, hell he still does. But there was one thing that Drake could never do to Hutch, being a father figure and all, and consisted solely on lying to his superior.
"Just exactly what do you two think you're doing here?" Candu asked, growling "Without permisson? Sirius, your Mom has been worried sick about you!"
I put my head down, I wasn't expecting to get caught so soon or by these three. I was expecting Armstrong to come along with his usual band of wolves but Candu must've convinced him to stay home. I had a feeling Mom would react badly but I didn't want her to get too worried. Now I was starting to feel bad about this whole thing.
"We're taking you kids home, where is everyone else?" Hutch asked, looking around when he didn't instantly see them next to us.
"We were looking for them, Sir" Drake responded, keeping his head low as he adressed Hutch.
"Where's Conrad?" Byron questioned, looking for his son.
"We don't know, a new friend of ours put him and some guy he isn't getting along with in a cave so they could patch things up" I answered, chuckling nervously "We got lost and we have no idea where he is"
Byron's eyes went large as he looked around frantically. I knew how protective he and Cole were of Conrad from all of our past experiences. When he was a pup, both of his adoptive parents didn't like having him out of there sights for more than an hour and constantly checked up on him when we were out playing. It was a real hastle because we didn't get to do anything too dangerous otherwise Cole or Byron would stop us and make sure we didn't attempt to do anything else dangerous.
As Hutch tried to get him to calm down, Byron put his nose to the ground and started to search for the scent of his son. Candu then turned to me and kept his eyebrow raised, looking between the two of us.
"What are you two doing? Out here? Alone?" He asked, a smirk appearing on his face.
Drake smirked and looked at me. Then, just as I was going to protest exactly what he was thinking, Drake put his paw over my muzzle and kept it there.
"Oh, Sirius finally decided to take me back" Drake replied, keeping my muzzle shut as I argued the point through inadiuoble mumbles.
"Oh? He did? Well I knew that was going to happen" Candu replied, winking at Drake "He couldn't go an hour without mentioning you when you two were dating and even more so when you broke up"
I blushed, looking up at Drake and seeing him stare at Candu, then slowly turning to me and smiling going to lick my cheek. I growled and tried to turn away but he kept me close.
"Y-you were talking about me? That much?" He asked, nuzzling my cheek "Thats so sweet! I love you!"
"No! Candu is lying!" I replied, growling and punching his muscular chest.
Drake smiled as he kept me close, holding my head against his chest and rubbing the back of it like he did whenever we would sleep with each other. It was then that I calmed down, remembering how nice it was to join him when we fell asleep together. I used to listen to his nice gentle heartbeat when we fell asleep and I never got tired of felling his arms around me, providing the warmth and comfort that only another could give with their embrace.
Seeing that I wasn't protesting, Drake gained some courage and cupped my cheek, bringing me up and making me look at him. I looked into his eyes and saw a look that showed his sincerity and almost seemed like he was asking permission for something. I had a pretty good idea what it was too. He leaned forward and kissed my lips gently. I let him, blushing hard and looking away but he only brought me back to kiss me again, this time, however, he kept our lips touching.
"Okay...!" Candu said, clapping his paws together "I'm gonna go look for the others while you two...yeah..."
I broke the kiss and looked at Candu, feeling responsible for the whole situation because I let Drake do this to me.
"W-wait Dad! W-we're done!" I replied, trying to push Drake away as he attempted to kiss me yet again.
"No, no! I'll leave you two together" He replied, looking back at winking at me as he started to walk away "Glad to see you two are back together"
Candu then proceeded to walk forward and grab Hutch's arm as well as Byron's and start walking away. Only to perk his ears up and turn back around, looking at us as he spoke up in an tone that suggested he remembered something that he had forgotten.
"Oh! By the way! Where's Armstrong?" He asked, tilting his head.
"And Cole!" Byron added, whimpering.
"And Leon!" Hutch joined in, looking around for his mate.
"Wait...he's not with you?!" I replied, answering a question with another question.
"No...he left before us and went out to find you!"
It seemed odd that Candu would be asking where Armstrong was. Those two were never away from each other for more than an hour but he seemed generally concerned for his well being. Drake and I exchanged looks, both shrugging our shoulders when we heard the news that Armstrong wasn't anywhere to be seen.
"Well we haven't see him" I retorted, getting a nod from Drake.
"Wait...then if he's not with you, and he's not with us? Where is he?"
Armstrong's POV
"You've totally gotten us lost, haven't you?" Leon growled, walking next to Cyrus.
"No! I'm sure this is there where we go!" Cyrus replied, smiling and looking around "This so looks familiar!"
"Does it? Does it really?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Nope, not one bit" Cyrus answered, looking around again "I have no idea where we are"
Growling, we all looked at Cyrus who smiled in return, his tail wagging behind him as if we weren't going to all strangle him as he stood there. Salty growled and moved closer to him, looking like he wanted to kill the Omega in front of him.
"Do you have any idea how much I want to hurt you Cyrus?!" He asked, growling.
"You won't hurt me! You love me!" Cyrus replied.
"I'll hurt you!" Leon replied, holding up his paw as if he was offering to do it.
Cyrus whimpered and put his head down, he looked so sad and guilt hearted. I actually felt bad for wanting to hurt him. Looking around, I noticed that none of the surroundings looked familiar. They were ghostly, none of the trees we were around had alive leaves on them. A cold wind blew through the area and a number of the dead leaves and branches fell from them, the leaves getting swept up and blowing away just past us.
The grass under our paws was just as dead as the trees around us. Yellow patches of the degrading folliage was everywhere and as soon as we placed a paw there it would crumble and be caught in the wind just like the leaves, probably ending up in a big pile where they were all gathered.
"I have a feeling we'll die in here" Salty spoke up, looking around and probably noticing the same things I was.
"Oh come on, its not that bad!" Cole said, smiling, looking all around "We'll just...trace our tracks back and we'll be out of here in no time!"
Cyrus then spoke up, making a loud hissing sound and a weird, distorted, face. That was the face that he made when he made a mistake.
"WHAT is it now?!" Leon growled, looking back at the Omega.
"Well thats the thing" Cyrus chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously "Remember when you said that we weren't supposed to be followed?"
"...What did you do now, Cyrus?" I asked, rolling my eyes.
"Well, I knew that we didn't want to get followed...so I used a tree branch and kinda...got rid of our tracks" Cyrus replied, smiling at us awkwardly.
"Wait, so we're offically lost?!" Leon growled, advancing towards the Omega.
"No! We can always just turn completely around and walk back!"
Cyrus made the hissing sound again, adding the extra awkward chuckle to it and making his cringe worthy face again as well.
"What?!"
"I kinda forgot to tell you guys, I didn't want to worry anyone, but we've been going in circles for hours and we've..." He rubbed the back of his neck again "Kinda gone all over this place and I'm pretty sure we're in the exact middle of the forest and I have no idea where we came from"
We all stared at him for a moment, not saying a word as he stared back at us with a big, unknowing smile. He was probably hoping that we all wouldn't rip him apart limb from limb. Although, I was pretty sure Leon wanted to do that already, who knows what he wants to do to poor Cyrus now.
"I have never hated someone more than I do you, Cyrus, right now" Leon growled, baring his fangs.
"Eh, I know you love me Leon" Cyrus replied, running up and hugging the white furred wolf "I love you too!"
If looks could kill, Cyrus would be decaying right now. The intensive stare that he got from Leon was one that could make pups cry just from the sight of it. Stepping back, Cyrus found similar a similar stare from Salty as they advanced towards him and Cyrus' cries for help went unheard as Cole and I looked around for a way to navigate out of the forest.
"What should we do?" I asked, tilting my head at my friend.
"No idea, I just hope that the kids are okay, whatever they're doing" Cole replied, clearly worried about Conrad.
I could understand that. I was worried sick about Sirius right now, I needed to get him back. When he was younger and I was younger, I promised Lydia that I would take care of him. By letting him go to this party, I was neglecting that promise. I could only imagine how worried she was about him. Sirius was her life.
"Do you think Conrad is okay?" Cole asked, looking up at me as Cyrus pleaded for help again behind us.
"Yeah, I'm sure he is, he's not the kind of dog to get himself into trouble with others" I replied, giving him a reassuring smile "He's probably somewhere with Sirius and Drake, having a good laugh"
Sammy's POV
"You've got to be kidding me!" I exclaimed, glaring at Conrad with anger.
"Nope, serious" He replied, smirking.
I growled and shook my head in utter disbelief, finding it hard to believe that even a dog hadn't done something so ordinary as a go on a hunt.
"Every wolf has go on a hunt! I don't know one that hasn't!" I informed, standing up and getting in the pouncing position "Hunting is a part of being a wolf!"
Conrad chuckled and shook his head, knowing about my pup like antics. He knew what I was doing and actually laughed at it, although I didn't expect it to be taken so casually when I was being so serious. Marshal had a small smile on his face as he watched the two of us actually getting along rather than gnawing at each other's throats.
During the short time that we were forced to spend together, Cornad and I had actually started to get along, we talked and laughed without having a argument once. Then there was now, I was starting to become so adjusted to his company that I was starting to show my happy side. I guess he wasn't such a bad guy after all, if only he wasn't a dog.
"Two things" Conrad started, holding up two fingers from his paw "One, I'm not a wolf" he put down one of his fingers and pointed the remaining finger at his right eye "Two, I think I have a little bit of a handicap, don't you agree?"
Growling once more, I got up from my position and circled him slowly. Meanwhile, Conrad's gaze followed me as I did so, having a questionable look on his face as he listened to the soft gentle sound of paws hitting the cold cave floor.
"See that?" I asked, growling to prove my point.
"See what? What happened?" Conrad asked, not getting the point I was attempting to make.
"You don't need to see to hunt" I replied, continuing to walk in circles "You hear everything that happens around you"
Conrad sighed, tightening his scarf around his neck. He did this occasionally whenever it loosened it's hold around his scruff. However, I had a growing suspicion that he aslo fixed it as a sign whenever he had some sort of nervous gimick or perhaps it was just a sign of some sort of other habbit.
"Being able to see would help a lot in a hunt..." Conrad replied, rubbing his shoulder "I'd just get in the way if I were to help out anyone hunting"
"Listen to you, I thought you were one not to let your blindness effect you?" I asked, using the information he told me earlier.
"Ultimately, it does" He sighed, his paw going over his eyes "No matter how much I deny it, it has effected my life more than anything"
I examined him, wondering what he went through that was so tramatizing. I never knew of anyone that had lost their sight, but I knew one thing. Conrad was stronger than he seemed. He seemed so determined to prove that he was just as strong as a wolf, despite being a dog and blind. I admired that about him, he didn't let anything stand in his way of being strong.
Growling, I went over and secretly flipped the dog onto his back. Getting a growl back from him and Marshal stood up swiftly, alarmed by my actions. I glared at Marshal and then turned back to the dog under me. He looked back at me and growled louder, drowning the sound of my voice with his.
"Get off of me Sam!" He growled, baring his fangs.
"What are you afraid of?!" I demanded, pinning him down on the floor.
"What?!"
"Everyone has a fear, so I asked..." I growled, leaning down closer "What. Are. You. Afraid. Of?!"
He looked away, his growling slowly coming to a stop as he grew an embarrassed look on his face. Slowly, when I was sure that he wasn't going to kill me, I got off of him. Marshal calmed down as well, sitting back down but still remaining cautious of me being close to Conrad.
"I'm afraid of being alone"
"Being alone?" I asked, tilting my head "What do you mean?"
"I-I can't be alone, not for long anyway, it terrifies me"
He then moved his paws over his elbows, making it appear as if he was hugging himself. There was an awkward silence looming over us. I felt bad for bring the subject up in the first place, but I wanted to know and I got my answer. However awkward it made it, I got my answer.
"Do you mind if I ask why it scares you?" I continued, deciding to break the silence with a question I later found just as rude as the last.
"I'd...rather not talk about it..."
I nodded, deciding that I shouldn't question him any further. We were just starting to actually become friendly towards each other and I didn't want to ruin what we established.
"What about you?" He asked, turning to me again.
"What about me?"
"Well, you asked me what I was afraid of, it's your turn" He argued, smirking "What is the great and mighty Sammy afraid of?"
"Don't you dare say 'nothing', Sammy" Marshal added, looking at with just one of his eyes open "I know what you're scared of"
I growled slightly, he knew what I was going to say because I was ashamed of what I was scared of.
"Fine...It's lightning, alright?!" I responded, avoiding both of their gazes "And...thunder..."
Conrad chuckled lightly, making me wonder if he was mocking me or if he just found what I said humorous in some disrespectful way. Then again, I was the one that brought up the conversation in the first place. Also, I was disrespectful in asking for more information from him.
"What's so funny?" I asked, a slight growl ringing from my throat.
"I-I'm sorry" Conrad chuckled, trying to calm down "I was just expecting something more...obvious...you know, like spiders, or snakes, or heights"
"You know, I was just starting to like you" I growled, baring my fangs at him.
"No, no! I'm sorry! I've just never met a wolf scared of lightning thats your...age..."
I glared at him. not seeing how that was an apology, if anything, it sounded like an insult. Moving away, I faced a different direction rather than look at him, offended.
"Oh stop that!" Conrad whined "I said sorry!"
"You're not though!" I replied, shaking my head "I reveal my biggest fear and you go and spit in my face!"
Conrad chuckled yet again, walking up to me and punching my shoulder in a joking manner. I remained silent and unmoved, avoiding eye contact with the dog as if I didn't hear him.
"I am! Okay? You're such a pup!" Conrad argued, shaking his head "Geez, you brought up the conversation in the first place!"
"Shut up!" I growled, baring my fangs yet again "You keep insulting me!"
"No I'm not you stupid wolf!" Conrad argued, yelling at me just like I was yelling at him.
Unbeknownst to us, as we argued, both Conrad and I were to busy to noticed the approaching wolves as they made their way into the cave, enjoying the show as we argued back and forth. They took their seats at the entrance and caught the attention of Marshal, who now sprung up and growled at them.
"If anyone is stupid here, it's you dog!"
"Don't go trying to blame me just because you're embarrased about being scared of lightning!" Conrad growled, getting in my face.
"Uhhhhh...Conrad?"
"I'm not embarrased about it!" I replied, getting back in his face in the same manner that he was.
I was so angry at him that I had didn't register just how exactly close Conrad and I had gotten. I could feel his breath against my face but I didn't care at the moment. I was too busy being offended by him.
"Then stop being such an ass about it!" He growled.
I commended him for sticking up to me like he was, without an ounce of fear in his tone of voice. He was a blind dog but he spoke back like he was on equal footing with me. I liked it. It made me feel like he wasn't the weak canine that he seemed to be on the outside. Maybe, somewhere underneath that scarf and short exterior, there was a wolf.
"Hey!" A sudden bellow sounded.
While Conrad's ears perked up and I turned my head, he heard and I saw the presence of a silver furred wolf that stood at the entrance with two wolves behind him, in between us, there was a growling Marshal and one of the wolves perked up at the sight of him.
"Army!" He cried, walking ahead and tackling Marshal to the ground, looking down at him with a smile.
"Conrad!" The silver wolf exclaimed, his ears fully perked and his tail wagging insanely fast.
"Dad!" Conrad spoke up, turning his head in the direction of the silver furred wolf.
"Dad?!" I asked, astonished at the comment as I looked from the wolf to the dog at my side.
"Who is this?!" Marshal asked, keeping his paw on the wolf's lips as he tried to kiss him. For once, he actually showed some emotion!
"Candu!" replied the wolf behind Conrad's Dad.
I shook my head, all these names, all at once, all of this information and arguing, it was too much for a wolf to handle! But, the main part that I had just realized, was how close Conrad and I were to each other's face. Close enough to feel his breath on my face. If I had stepped a little bit farther forward when I first got into his face, we would've kissed, or touched noses. It wouldn't have been a big deal, just a mere accident.
But, when I felt a sudden heat on my cheeks, I realized that I was blushing at the thought of kissing Conrad. My only question now was, why? Why would I blush at the thought of kissing a dog?
Okay! Update! I really enjoyed writing this chapter, the romances between the characters are actually starting to take off and I rather enjoy writing romances. Please tell me how I did and thank you for reading! :)
Until Next Time!
