Does a bear poop in the rain forest
THE JOURNAL / LEAF OF PERCY JACKSON [I HAVE BEEN AVOIDING ARTEMIS FOR THE LAST TWO DAYS, I'M NOT SURE IF SHE UNDERSTANDS THE BASIC RULES OF HIDE AND SEEK AND SHE DAMN WELL DOES NOT MIND USING HER GODLY ABILITIES TO CHEAT. I DON'T HAVE RIPTIDE, THINGS ARE LOOKING BLEAK FOR ME THERE'S PLENTY OF WATER HERE TO HEAL MYSELF AND I'VE BEEN FINDING FRUITS IN THE TREES, THIS JOURNAL WILL BE MY WAY TO KEEP TRACK OF TIME AND OCCUPY MY DAMN ADHD. SIGNED PERSEUS….] He didn't even get to sign his name before he heard the twang of an arrow in the distance and the large leaf was ripped from his hand and embedded in a tree across from his little mud hut. He ran out of his tiny hovel like a bat out of hell running into the dense tropical forest once again. "Damn it Artemis it's been three days already SOMEONE IS GOING TO NOTICE I'M GONE!" All that followed his desperate pleading was the rustling of the canopy above him, the echoing of strange tiny creatures crawling through the thick tree roots and dead leaves, and then silence. He held up a small wooden club he had fashioned from a tree root and repeated the same phrase over and over in his head. "Please be a cougar, please dear poseidon let it just be a cougar."To his utter surprise he heard a reply in his mind. "Sorry son rainforest isnt in my mojo description." He slumped his shoulders and dropped his utterly useless stick and… "HEY WAIT YOU CAN HEAR ME?"
His voice bounced off the trees and echoed through the forest, to no reply he might add, but only a moment later did he realise his mistakes. One does not drop your guard, two don't scream like a jackass while your being hunted by a woman goddess with super hearing, and three don't expect your surfer god dad to interfere with his violent nieces plan to kill you on sort of dry land. An almost sing song voice rang out to him. "Peercy come out and plaaaay." He saw the now older looking goddess (about 18) appear from behind a tree in a ghillie suit that slowly shifted to a camo hunter outfit, "oooooooh nooooo" was all he could think before she spoke again. "Please don't bore me percy gods don't like it when the fun stops, that's how natural disasters happen." She notched an arrow in her bow. "You can thank vulcan for pompeii, those people really did lose their spark." She then laughed and snorted at her own pun which would have been adorable, had she not been laughing at the molten heat death of thousands. "I don't suppose you would let me go if i just let you shoot me in the leg?" He asked a little to hopefully. "Now percy where's the vengea… i mean fun in that." "Yup i thought that was a little too much to hope for, cant blame a guy on death row for trying" Artemis let her arrow fly, aiming right at Percy's right leg in an attempt to disable him, the goddess was losing herself to the hunt more and more every day. Memories of hunting pillagers and barbarians that raided villages of greece and took what they pleased from the more defenseless women, how she wished there could've been more like atalanta and xena back then. But in her wild state she couldn't see the difference between percy and a savage, as she continued to fire a volley of arrows.
Percy barely managed to escape the bite of artemis's arrows a few even sliced his rib cage and forearm leaving blood droplets behind him. "Holy crap she might actually kill me." He frantically tried to think of a way out of this situation, he ran for at least half an hour before coming upon an opening in the tree line. He weighed his options, either stay in the jungle with the huntress or make a break for open ground and hope he could make a stand. After hearing the trees behind him crack and fall he spun around to see. "HOLY SHIT A BEAR, REALLY, THAT'S NOT EVEN FAIR COME ON!" The goddess had indeed shapeshifted into a large grizzly and was barreling towards him roaring with blood lust the entire time. He made a break for the trees and didn't stop running until he leapt through them…. and fell eight feet straight down onto a huge pile of rocks. "DAMNIT!" Was the only obscenity he could get out before his foot made painful contact with the rocky hill nocking a large pile of stones loose and twisting his ankle with a sinister pop. He fell down the hill hitting every rock that stuck out at an uncomfortable angle before he stopped, motionless he lay there dazed and beaten. "Water… come on man water." He desperately tried to focus through the pain and on pulling all the surrounding water to him, and he felt it a river just a little distance away connecting right to the ocean. He pulled with all his might outstretching his arm, only to feel his consciousness waning, his last sight a silver feathered heron land nearby.
As artemis shifted from her spirit bird into her human form she ran to percy's limp form." Her face was a mask of pure panic, if she had truly just killed the champion of olympus and her uncle's favorite son it would mean war with the earthshaker. "Don't play dead you fish brained ass if i wanted to kill you i would have pierced your heart by now." When her insult received no response her godly heart quickend it pace, actual fear snapped her out of her ancient state, and was this...guilt. In truth percy had never shown the same cruelty or even blatant rudeness towards women other barbarians and demigods had, using them as tools or decoration, and she had already suspected aphrodite played a part in her hunters defilement by garden. "Oh my zeus, i've just killed an innocent man and champion of olympus."
