(Update)
A New Student
It was Ayumi's first day at the DWMA, she was very nervous but at the same time excited. She made sure that she got enough sleep and ate a well-balanced breakfast to give her the energy she needed. It was gonna be a blast learning how to fight and resonate souls with others. Especially getting to know about the witches and kishins was gonna be a thrill-ride.
Everything seems normal during daytime in Death City, everyone seem friendly just like your everyday people. Ayumi realised she wasn't the only one heading to the academy, as she saw other teens heading the same way towards the academy. Once she arrived to the top of the school's staircase, everyone stopped to notice something on top of the spike structure. That "something" turned out to be someone. A boy with blue spiked hair, he wore what appeared to be ninja clothes, a black sleeveless turtleneck shirt, white knee-length shorts, and a pair of black shoes.
He pointed to the sky. "LISTEN UP EVERYONE!" he shouted. " IF YOU EVER NEED HELP FIGHTING AGAINST THE KISHINS, I THE GREAT BLACK*STAR WILL BE YOUR MAN!"
"Not this idiot again…" A boy said in a irritated tone.
"Just ignore him like usual." Another said.
Ayumi's eyes widen at the boy. He seem like the type person she could take advice from. Despite her interest of the boy, everyone else didn't have the same expression. She continue towards the front door and the entered the academy. Even though she's been inside of it before, it looks more different with people in it.
"Hey Ayumi!" a voice shouted from afar.
Ayumi turn to see the owner of the voice. It was Maka, the girl she bumped into when she first arrived at Death City. She was waving at her with a wide smile on her face. She's obviously really happy to see her again. Ayumi noticed a boy with her. He had snow-white hair and ruby-red eyes, he wore a yellow and black jacket and maroon pants, along with sneakers with same color as his jacket. A headband with the word 'Soul' on it. He had a captivated face that made him look charming. They walk towards her as she greeted them back with a smile.
"So, this is the girl you bump into?" the albino boy said. He analysed Ayumi from head to toe to get a good look at her. He gave out a devilish smirk on his face. "Your really not what I was expecting."
Ayumi raised a brow. "What do you mean?"
"I thought you would be just an average person, but your actually something else." the boy said as he put his hands in pockets while keeping his smirking grin. "I can tell cause your more developed, unlike a certain someone."
"SOUL!" Maka shouted. She couldn't believe how Soul was being such a pervert just now. The awkwardness made Ayumi sweatdropped.
"All right, calm down," Soul said with his hand up in surrender. He then lend out his hand to the raven-haired girl. "Anyways, my name is Soul Eater. I'm Maka's weapon partner, It's nice to meet you."
Ayumi took Soul's hand and shook it. "It's nice meet you too Soul."
Maka was so happy to see Ayumi in school. After their first meeting yesterday, she been willing to see her again. She really wanted to show her around the school, she was a freshman after all. Right when she was about to talk to her, she was interrupted by an incoming presence.
"YAHOO!" a high-pitched scream from the hallways as if something amazing just happen.
It was the boy Ayumi saw on top of the spike structure. He was followed by a tall girl with long raven black hair that was pick up in a ponytail. She was absolutely beautiful, with her hourglass figure it's no doubt that she'd be admired by all the boys in school.
"GREETINGS FELLOW CIVILIANS, YOUR GOD HAS ARRIVED!" The boy said loudly, to make sure the entire building herd him. Ayumi could tell that this boy was filled with so much energy.
"What up, Black*Star?" Soul said high-fiving the blue-haired boy.
"Hey there, Black*Star!" Maka said gleefully.
Black*Star greeted back Maka only to notice Ayumi standing beside her. "Who's she?"
"Oh," Maka reach out and grabbed Ayumi's hand. "This is Ayumi, she's a new student ."
Black*Star got closer to get a good look at Ayumi with his hand on his chin. "Ayumi, huh? I gotta say, your pretty cute, but overall your not in comparison to a big star like me." He held out his for a shake. "I'm the Great Black*Star, also known as the one who's gonna surpass God!"
At first Ayumi was bit hesitant after discovering Black*Star's personality, but then again everything in Death City was strange by itself already. She took his hand shook it firmly.
"It's nice meet you...Black*Star," Ayumi said timidly.
He then pointed at the girl next to him. "And this is my awesome partner, Tsubaki!"
The girl named Tsubaki bow her head in respect. "It's nice to meet you Ayumi," she said in such a gentle manner.
"Same to you, Tsubaki," Ayumi bow her head back. She could tell that Tsubaki was Japanese as well. It was nice to meet someone from her culture.
"It looks like the gang's all here." a familiar voice spoke.
Ayumi turned to see Kid, Liz, and Patty together. They approached the others and greeted them.
"It's nice to see you as an official student, Ayumi," Kid said with a refined gesture. Which caused Ayumi to feel flattered. She didn't knew he was such a gentleman.
"Thanks," Ayumi said delighted. "That's very kind of you,"
"Of course," Kid said with an reassuring smile. "As a Reaper and son of the Headmaster, it's my duty to make sure that every student in the academy is treated with respect. I'd would love for us to be good friends."
Once Ayumi greeted Liz and Patty, the first bell rang.
It was time for class.
The whole group of meisters and weapons walk to class together. So far, everything was going well. Ayumi was glad that she made new friends on her first day in the DWMA.
Class was about to begin. Stein had set preparation to start his class, he was waiting for the new student Lord Death mention to him. Surprisingly, he had an slight interest in meeting this girl. He was informed that she had a mental disorder, but after seeing her profile picture, she didn't seem like the type person to have a disorder. She was smiling like there was nothing to worry about.
Maybe it wasn't that severe, or it's just like a minor disease. Like a cold that wasn't so serious.
Once he was finish, he notice the last few students coming in. The last few were his well-known students, Maka, Soul, and her…
Ayumi Kimura. She had that innocent look on her face, similar to Maka's. However, unlike the scythe meister, her appearance was more mature. According to the smile and giggle she shared with Maka, the two seem to have form a bond already. As if they were childhood friends.
He fixed his glasses, and brought them to the bridge of his nose to analyse her soul. His eyes widen a bit from the site. It seems to be surrounded by a calming aura, something so soothing like a heavenly lullaby sung by a angel. However, under that aura was unstable and fragile entity.
Assuming that this girl suffer from a mental disorder, this seems to be the source of it. But the aura surrounding it seems to be preventing it from going haywire. But underneath it all, it was seem to be set in the middle. It wasn't too youthful, but not too mature either. This was something he's never seen before in any student. It was truly marvelous.
He went up to the girl, and placed his hand firmly on her shoulder causing her to jump a bit. "You're Ayumi Kimura, correct?"
She turn around to face the person that spoke to her. Only to see a tall man with silver hair, wearing a lab coat and had stitches all over him, but what really caught her eye was the large screw that went threw his head. The man's appearance sent shivers down her spine. She never expected to see someone so bizarre looking. Stein took in notice of the girl's reaction to his looks, which only made him chuckled.
"It's alright," He said in friendly gesture. "I'm Professor Stein, your biology teacher."
Despite, his unsettling image, Ayumi was pleased by Stein's good-nature. Seemingly he wouldn't hurt a fly, although it's quite questionable how he was certified to be a teacher surrounded by students from his aspect.
"Nice to meet you," Ayumi said a bit nervous.
"Will you be kind enough for me to introduce you to the class?" the silver haired man asked.
Ayumi noded in responde. Onced the second bell rung, everyone was present in class. Stein called out for Ayumi to come up in front of the class, beside him. He went behind her, and put his hands on her shoulders. He felt her trembling, apparently feeling nervous.
"Everyone I like to introduce our new student," he began. "This is Ayumi Kimura, she's from Japan. She will be participating as a solo weapon, I hope you'll get along with her and please don't give her any trouble."
Ayumi went up and sat next to Maka. She began to hear mumbles and whispers, of people talking about her. The boys thought she was cute, while the girl's wonder what kind of weapon she was.
"Now then, let's begin shall we?" Stein said as he went up to the board and wrote down today's lesson.
After what felt like an hour, class was finally over. Once Ayumi was about to leave the room with Maka and Soul. Stein came up to them before they could reach the door.
"Excuse me ," he said. "I'd like to speak with you."
Ayumi stood still as her heart pond with fear, Maka began to notice and whispered in her ear before leaving with Soul. "It'll be alright."
Feeling as if her legs were moving on their own, she went up to Stein while trembling. She bit her lip in utter silence, sweat began to drip from her forehead. Stein could tell the young girl was frighten, as if she did something wrong even though she hasn't. In fact, she's been paying close attention in class by taking note of every important detail he discussed about.
"Don't worry," he said with a smile. "Your not in trouble."
"Oh," Ayumi said with a bit of relief. "Then why did call me over?"
"I wanted to ask you some questions," Stein said as he fold his hands. "Lord Death has inform me that you have a mental disorder, is that correct?"
Ayumi stood silent for a minute, not knowing the words to say.
"It's alright," Stein spoked. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
"No, it's fine," Ayumi said. "It's something I never wanted to deal with, I just shove it off so I could live a normal life and not have anyone worry about me."
Stein raised a brow. This was started to get interesting to him. "Is that so," he began to speak putting his elbows on the desk. "Why is that?"
Ayumi folded her hands behind her back while twirling her thumbs. She bit her lip intimidation until she taste blood. Stein took notice that Ayumi didn't wanna go any further, so he decided to change the subject.
"Why don't you tell me bit about yourself?" he asked.
"Like what?"
"What are you interested in? What do you like to do?"
That question made Ayumi smile in delight, she was always happy to tell others her favorite hobby. "Well, back in my hometown I would draw under the cherry blossom trees whenever I felt sad. It was my favorite place to relax whenever I came to visit. I would rest my head against the tree, while watching the cherry blossom petals fall into my hand. They'd smell so nice too."
Stein was amazed by how Ayumi described her favorite hobby. It sounded peaceful, like a well-written poem. He could tell she started to feel better talking about her pastime, her soul felt more soothing and was more brighter.
"That's very interesting," Stein said putting his hand on his chin. "It sounds like a blissful place. I'd take it, your fond of that place."
"Yes," Ayumi nodded. "You could say it's like my utopia."
After a moment of silence, Stein pushed his chair towards the file cabinet. But not before falling backward when he lost his balance.
His clumsiness caused Ayumi to giggle, he acted as if he didn't herd her and continue to search into his file cabinet. He delve through the files until he found the papers he was looking for. He rolled his chair back to Ayumi's direction.
"These are for you," Stein said handing the raven-haired girl the papers.
"These are-?" Ayumi asked before Stein cut her off.
"Your homework," He began to twist the screw on head until it clicked. "Whether your a new student or a veteran, you must catch up with everyone else if you want to stay on track."
"Oh, alright," she said accepting the papers.
Stein tilted his head towards the door next to him. "Go meet up with Maka and the others. I'll be seeing you in class tomorrow."
"Ok," she said cheerfully. "Thanks Professor Stein!"
The silver-hair man watched Ayumi dashed to the door. He didn't mind if it was his appearance that made her felt unsettled, he was already used to it.
However, there was something interesting about her. That aura surrounding her soul is quite fascinating, he'd look forward to investigate it. Thought despite how beautiful her pale skin was, he would to cut open such a pretty young girl.
All he could do for time being is keep a close eye on her while in school grounds like Lord Death asked him to. He had to keep it a secret for now. It wasn't that Lord Death didn't trust her, he was just worried about the poor girl. She may not even know it, but deep down she was hurting.
Stein knows very well that the headmaster treated his students like his own children. As such, he would make sure they were given proper care. But luckily, things should go more smoothly now that there's a new counselor.
He could only hope for the better.
