Part 12: Home and Family

Red Robin returned to the cave and changed out of his uniform. He went and showered then dressed and headed upstairs to the Manor. Normally, he would have stopped at the kitchen to get a bite to eat, but this time, he raced upstairs to see Sammie.

"Sammie!" Tim rushed into Samantha's room and wrapped her in his arms, "I'm so glad you're okay!"

"Timmy, you're squeezing me, my belly, the twins . . . "

"Oh, I'm sorry," Tim pulled away and using the mind link, he checked on the twins. They were fine. The disease had only affected their mother. "I was so worried."

"Well, you didn't appear to be," Samantha commented.

"I had to keep my emotions under control. Kaldor was new. I couldn't tell him who you were or my identity. It was important to save you and our twins first. I had no idea that you were Atlantean."

"I didn't know either."

"That would explain the words on the portrait. Neptune was referred to as the sea king in Roman mythology. Why Neptune? Why not Poseidon? Atlantis was considered a place in Greek mythology. The Romans adapted their gods and changed the names to their gods to fit their beliefs, though they are similar."

"You do not believe in Atlantis or that I am Atlantean?" Samantha argued.

"I didn't say that, Sammie," Tim stated. "There's Aquaman and Aqualad, but I've never met Aquaman or Aqualad, until today, but I believe in them."

"So, you are saying they are real," Samantha stated.

"Yeah, they are, very much," Tim said with a smile, and he hugged Samantha, again.

"I want to go to Atlantis."

"What?"

"You heard me, I want to go to Atlantis."

"Atlantis is somewhere in the deep ocean," Tim replied. "Even I've never been there. I don't even know how to get there."

"You can find out," Samantha pointed out.

"Yeah, I guess."

"Why the sudden reluctance?"

"What if something happens?" Tim followed up with his own questions as he rubbed Samantha's belly. "And what about the wedding?"

"I'll go after the wedding, and I'm not due for a couple of months yet. Sasha's already in her ninth month and I did promise to help her. I won't go until after she's given birth and after our wedding."

"I wish you'd wait until after the twins are born."

"I have to find out where I came from, Timmy," Samantha stated. "Wouldn't you want to know?"

Tim sighed. "Yeah, I guess I would."

"Then it's settled."

"Yeah," Tim said half heartily. Even so, he had a bad feeling all of a sudden. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to happen, and it centered around Samantha and their unborn children.
