The next morning dawned cold and rainy, dark clouds reflecting the storm brewing inside the castle. It was a weekend, and therefore the students were clustered in communal areas instead of in lessons, which left more time for gossipy whispers to spread like autumn leaves in the wind.
"I heard Harry Potter's in his Hospital Wing- with his parents!"
"Dumbledore is missing because he tried to kill Harry!"
"I heard Sarah say Umbridge is in charge now!"
"All the people around the school probably are from the Ministry-"
"I heard that they are going to arrest Professor Snape."
"There's this massive black dog running around- it tried to attack Draco Malfoy-"
"I think they're going to close the school!"
"I heard Lily Potter's really hot!"
That sort of thing.

Marching through the Entrance Hall with resolute purpose in his step was blonde, twenty-one year old Henri Murphy, a half-blood crime reporter with something to prove. It was his first month on the job and he'd already been unaffectionately nicknamed 'Skeeter Junior' by the rest of the journalists at the Daily Prophet due to his diligence, inclination towards exaggeration, and his willingness to do anything, even fabricate details, to get a good story. He'd earned a pretty big name from himself, having got the Daily Prophet nearly sued in his first week on the job by writing a very controversial piece on the incompetence of the Auror branch of the Ministry, which, as well as nearly getting him fired, had caused the amount of buyers for that edition to almost double and had him a place secured on the team.

The Daily Prophet's source inside the castle had tipped him off to the situation playing out inside, and Henri was confident that he would be the first one on the scene and therefore would have the scoop before any other newspaper in the wizarding world. As he hurried up the steps, he scribbled on a notepad with his quill. In the early hours of the morning, the corridors of the esteemed castle that is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry were quiet, showing none of the turmoil going on inside. As I strode through the school-
"Excuse me?"
A sharp, cold, firm voice cut through his writing daydream. He looked up.
His old Transfiguration teacher was standing there, arms folded, cutting him off on the stairs.
"Minerva," Henri smiled patronisingly. "I'm here to do a story. You wouldn't mind telling me where the rest of the staff are, and the two undead Potters, would you?"
"I wasn't aware we were allowing reporters into the building."
"Severus opened the door for me."
"It's Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall to you, Murphy. And they're in the staff room. Do not disturb my students."
"I won't, Minerva." He flashed her a winning smile, and her eyebrow drew close together in disapproval. "Thank you."
"Don't stay long. And be sure to speak to our…Headmistress about you getting permission to print any article. It must be checked by her before it's released to the public."
"Of course, Minerva."

He brushed past her, shoving his notepad into the pocket of his robes and ran up the stairs, past a worker in Ministry robes who frowned at him and a gaggle of students who were discussing Dumbledore loudly.
"I heard he's on the run-"
"No, he was arrested, Marcia told me-"
"I don't believe you!"

Henri pushed open the door to the staff room, and there were two people in there: a pretty redheaded woman pacing up and down and talking to a tired man with brown hair streaked with grey, face covered with scars.
"And they're not letting us see-"
"Excuse me?" Henri interrupted her. "Hello?"
"Can I help you?" The man said wearily.
"I was told to wait in here to have an interview with the miraculously resurrected Potters, so if you could get me a tea or something, sweetheart, that would be lovely, it's been very difficult for me to get here and if you, mate, could get the Potters it would be fantastic I had to get up at six for this-"
"You want me to get you a tea?" Lily looked outraged. Remus had an amused look on his face.
The door opened and James stormed in, looking annoyed.
"They still haven't let you go in and see Harry? This is ridiculous-"
"Sweetheart?" Henri persisted. "That tea?"
"Who's this?" James openly looked insulted by Henri's presence.
"Henri Murphy, crime reporter for the Daily Prophet. I'm here to speak to the Potters to get their side of the story, so if you wouldn't mind-"
"Oh go away, we're talking." James said flippantly.
"Excuse me?" Henri swelled with indignation. "I am the senior crime writer for the Daily Prophet-"
"And I just came back from the dead so give me space."
"You're Mister Potter?"
"And I'm Mrs Potter, so no, I'm not getting you a tea. And we're not doing any interview." Lily scowled at him. "So you can leave."
"Do you want to go and see whether we can see Harry?" Remus suggested, Lily and James expressed their agreement and the three of them went to leave.
"Mr Potter! Mr Potter! Could I get a quote from you for the Daily Prophet?" Henri's manner changed completely.
"No. Go talk to the pink monstrosity, she'll give you a quote." James said over his shoulder, then shut the door behind him.

Henri stared at the door for the moment in stunned silence, then sank into the nearest armchair, then pulled out his notepad and angrily began to write.

NECROMANCY SHOCK- DUMBLEDORE A DANGEROUS DARK WIZARD?

Horror is all anyone at Hogwarts School is feeling right now as the truth about their once beloved Headmaster has finally come to light; Albus Dumbledore is currently on the run after being accused of performing necromancy to resurrect James and Lily Potter after their brutal murder at the hands of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named on Halloween night of 1981. On the surface, this may seem like a gesture of ignorance and selfishness but due to trusted sources I have reason to believe otherwise. The resurrection of James and Lily Potter was not a misguided act fuelled by grief, lack of understanding and pain, but rather Dumbledore's first move in an uprising against the Ministry of Magic as a way to undermine the fundamental rules of magic and upsets the balance in the magical world.

Though He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named may be considered as the most dangerous and deadly Dark Wizard of all time, it is clear to anyone with any shred of common sense and logic that there is only one act worse than murder: bringing someone back from the dead. It is a direct violation of natural law, and could have disastrous consequences for the wizarding world. He is also undermining the Ministry's authority.

Hermione stopped reading and turned the page, head a storm of emotions: guilt, fear, worry and some more guilt.
At the bottom in the margin was the notice in big, black, flashing letters.

100,000 GALLEON REWARD FOR INFORMATION ON THE WHEREABOUTS OF ALBUS DUMBLEDORE, TO BE REPORTED TO THE AUROR OFFICE IN THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CONFRONT OR APPROACH THIS WIZARD. HE IS ARMED AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
