Chapter Two

(A/N: Hey everybody! Um, I'm sorry about the title, I know it sucks, but I couldn't think of anything else. If you have a good title, go ahead and tell me, I'm welcome to any suggestions. So, enough blabbing by me, on with the show!)
Aerith hummed softly as she brought Yuffie her breakfast. Reaching her door, she balanced the tray on one knee, and then used one hand to open the door. Pushing the door opened, she took the tray in both hands, and turned to the bed.
"Goo-"She stopped, sighing, walked over and set the tray down onto the deserted bed.
"We need to tie that girl down." She muttered.
Yuffie reached the top of the building, and panting, pulled her self up. Groaning, she walked over to the edge, and sat down. Letting her legs swing and dangle over the side, she leaned back against her hands.
She loves to sit there, just looking over the town. Watching the pigeons walk around, and fly from rooftop to rooftop. About two roofs away from her, a figure appeared, climbing over the top of the fire escape.
Yuffie watched with interest as he (she figured it was a guy) stopped, looked around. Then disappeared down the other side of the building. Sighing, Yuffie rubbed her side, over her still healing wound.
Nighttime fell, although it remained dark; Yuffie stayed on the roof, dozing off.
A small girl sat cross legged, with a mournful expression, and tear streaked face. Tears cascading like a desolate waterfall over her puffy, pale cheeks. She hugged her self tightly as she rocked back and forth; her shoulder length ebony hair swaying with her body. She silently watched the people clad in black attire mill around the coffin; walking past the young girl as if she wasn't there. She never took her eyes off the black, long coffin, sitting in the middle of the cemetery.
She slowly closed her eyes; willing to go wherever she is now. As she opened her eyes again, she came face to face with Squall. He knelt down in front of her; the only person to acknowledge her presence. He too wore a saddened expression.
He opened his arms to her, knowing she needed someone right now. Her empty eyes slowly moved to meet his. She suddenly made a choking noise, and lurched her self forward into him. He held her tightly, softly stroking her hair, as her sobs racked her body.
The moment he had knelt in front of her, in that exact moment, she knew she loved him, even though she was seven, and he was sixteen. They drew apart after what seemed like forever. He helped her stand as the service ended. She watched with a heavy heart, as she tried to contain a fresh stream of new tears, as her mother was slowly lowered into the ground. And she stood there, never taking her eyes off the coffin. Until it was completely covered with dirt. Then her father led her away, back to a motherless home, and a motherless life.
Yuffie's eyes snapped open as she sat up quickly. She looked around, unaware of where she fell asleep. Realizing it, she rolled her eyes.
"God, I'm still on the friggin roof." She muttered, as she cracked her stiff back. Groaning she stood up to stretch.
"Note to self, never sleep on roofs, they're very hard and uncomfortable." She sighed as she looked over the side to see a mass of heartless congregating. Yuffie looked down to her belt and her eyes widened. No shurikens.
"Damn it!" She cursed, stomping her foot angrily, sending shooting pains up her leg. Holding her leg, she hopped around on her other foot, cussing blackly. Slightly limping, she walked quickly to the side of the building; she frantically searched for Squall; when suddenly someone yelled out to her from the ground.
"Goddammit Yuffie! Get down from there now!" She looked down to see Squall slice a heartlesses head off. He looked back up to her.
"Get down right now!" A heartless began creeping up on him.
"Squall look out!" Before he could turn around she jumped. Squall's eyes widened as she jumped off the roof. He turned around to see the defender, with a fireball. He tried to dodge it, but it was too late, and too fast. When suddenly Yuffie appeared, landing in front of him. Ignoring the sharp pains in her leg, she blacked the fireball with her arm. She suddenly ducked, as if she could read Squall's mind, right as he swung the Gunblade, chopping the defender's head off. Yuffie lay gasping on the ground, as the rest of the heartless disappeared. Squall sheathed his Gunblade, and bent to help her up. As she put weight on each foot, her legs and ankles gave out and she fell forward.
Expecting to face plant in the ground, she felt an arm wrap around her waist, catching her. She blushed furiously as he pulled her up to almost standing.
"Do you want me to carry yo-?" She cut him off rudely.
"I don't need anybody to carry me!" She pushed away from him, almost falling, she held on to the wall of a building, and wincing through tremendous pain, mostly from her now burnt arm, started walking carefully.
Squall watched with an amused look on his face as she stumbled and fell, but he caught her before she hit the ground. She allowed her self to be picked up, as he put an arm under her legs, and one supporting her back.
Trying to keep the blush from running to her face, she wrapped her arms around his neck, resting her head against his shoulder. They continued walking toward the hotel in silence. Yuffie finally got her blush down; she looked up to his face.
"Squallie?" She asked quietly. He glanced down to then back up.
"Leon, what?" (Author: 1000 words!!!!! sorry *face turns red*) She looked sown embarrassedly.
"Never mind." She muttered. He looked down to her confusedly, but he looked back up, not wanting her to see him showing any emotion. They neared the hotel, and Yuffie started giggling hysterically.
Looking down to her with a raised left eyebrow, he asked her, "What the hell is so damn funny all the sudden?" She started giggling louder. As they walked, they neared a pile of crates, which sounded like movement behind it.
As they reached the crates, Yuffie's giggling stopped abruptly. As Squall stepped in front of the crates, Yuffie suddenly cried out at the top of her lungs.
"FIRE!!!!" The crates came tumbling down as somebody behind them hit the crates. Now laughing louder, Yuffie pointed to the hotel.
"Hurry! Get inside!" Squall did what he was told, as he tried to contain his laughter. When they entered the hotel, they could hear Cloud swearing blackly. Squall carried her upstairs, which was really difficult for him since he had to keep a hold on a laughing Yuffie.
He set her down on the bed in the Green Room, as she continued to laugh hysterically. She rolled right off the bed, due to the fact that she was laughing so hard that her face was bright red. Hitting the floor, she continued to laugh.
She heard the door open and close, and she sat up to look around the empty room. Still chuckling, she suddenly realized, she. . .
"DAMN YOU SQUALL!" She yelled. Sighing in frustration, she tried to stand up, but her ankles gave out again, and she fell forward, onto the floor. She had managed to turn around, and land on her back.
Getting onto her hands and knees, she started crawling toward the freezer for a couple of ice packs. Reaching her destination, she contemplated on how to stand up, and stay up long enough to reach the ice packs.
She kept going to the sink, next to the fridge and freezer. Grabbing onto the sink with both hands, and on both knees. Mustering up enough strength, she started to pull herself up. Getting up she threw her self around to sit down on the side of the sink, but missed and sat in the sink. And got stuck.
"Oh god. Great, just great."
"Damn you Squall!" She yelled to the empty room.
Squall slumped against the wall in the lobby of the hotel. It was getting harder and harder to contain his feelings for Yuffie. His heart knew he loved her, but his brain kept denying the truth. Finally deciding to go back up there, he stood up, and made his way to the Green Room; hoping Yuffie got over her laughing fit.
Yuffie squirmed in the small sink, the faucet digging into her back.
"Goddammit!" She hissed as she heard the door open and she tried to get out, but failed, again.
"Cloud, can you help me ge-"Squall came into her view, and she narrowed her eyes, glaring daggers at him.
"Get out," She growled. He rolled his eyes, as he walked toward her intending to help. He reached her, and she stuck her arms out.
"Stop! I don't need you help." He ignored her, and reached out to her.
"Stop! I- Stop it!" She started swatting at him, but he maneuvered around her flailing limbs, and put both hands on her waist.
"Stop moving." He grunted. He gently pulled her out. Her arms were still moving, and since her butt was asleep, along with everything below her waist, she fell forward onto him. They both fell backwards, Yuffie landing on top of him. Yuffie opened her eyes meeting his. She started blushing a deep shade of pink uncontrollably. Neither moved, as they continued to stare into each other's eyes. Yuffie realized his arms were still around her waist, and her blush deepened, if that was even possible.
Coming to her senses, Yuffie quickly rolled off of him. Not seeing his face full of disappointment. She tried to stand, but failed. She watched Squall stand up slowly, and he turned to see her staring at him.
"What?" He asked, he had returned to his stoic expression.
Smiling, she replied, "My ass is numb."
(A/N: Oh my god, that sucked! I'm really sorry, that chapter was pointless, (aren't they all?) I will be introducing my OC in the next chappy. I promise, the next chapter will be much better, and a lot longer. I hope. Please review!!!)
