A Tale of Darkness, A Story of Love

Chapter 2

"I want a healer! Now!" I yelled as I carried the barely conscious child into my throne room. When a healer came to my call I tried to hand the child over to him, but she whimpered and clutched at my robes. I looked down at her puzzled. She was huddled in my arms and hiding her head against my chest. Perhaps the mask frightened her. Unlike my followers, I did not wear one. "Take off your mask." I tried to hand the child over again, but still she clung to me.

Lucius spoke up. "My Lord, I believe she may have imprinted on you." I turned my gaze on him, waiting for him to elaborate. "You swooped in like an avenging angel. You saved her from death and killed her tormenters." I raised an eyebrow at the description. Lucius held up his hands. "I'm only telling you how she sees it, my Lord." I smiled at down at her. She seemed to have lost her battle for consciousness. "I've never been a hero before." I was practically whispering, even though there was little chance I would wake her.

I handed her off to the healer. "Take care of her. If she doesn't recover properly, I'll ensure you end up worse." I watched as the healer carried her off. She looked so small, and so hurt. I couldn't comprehend how someone could have tried to stone that child, for being a wizard. Imagine stoning a child for having magic. They have magic themselves. I could feel it. The only difference is she has a different type. I was becoming angrier, enraged even. I wished I hadn't killed them. I wished they were here so I could … express my displeasure.

I decided to work off some of my anger. "Come on, we're going muggle hunting." My Death Eaters were pleased with the announcement. The corridors ran red with blood, by the time we were finished. We broke into a prison to have our fun. I did not wish to deal with the accursed Order this day. The screams soothed my anger. I calmed as I watched the life rain from their bodies.

Then one of my healers apparated into the prison.
