Hey everybody

Hey everybody. Just something I cooked up today after watching my cat. –lol- Set before the very first book started. Oh and for that girl I met at chapters, I forgot your username. But if you're reading this I guess you found me okay. –lol- Enjoy.

Rusty rolled over on in his bed and look at the dull ceiling. Longing for the felling of freedom he had dreamed about so many times before. He sat sleepily and scratched at his collar. Crossing his was over the ceramic tiles that felt odd under his feet he made his way to the door and out into the garden. Rusty sniffed at the plants and made his dirt and wandered around a bit more. Restless he jumped onto the fence and stared out into forest. The plants out there seemed so much more inviting then the ones in the garden and the grass, wild and untamed, on the other side of the fence seemed to much more springy and green. Grumpily he got down from the fence and went back into the house and wandered around the kitchen pointlessly. Rusty's people came home and picked him up, he sat with them as the gave him pats and made kissy faces. The whole time he thought of the grass on the other side of the fence. Finally the humans decided it was time for bed and with a "Good night Rusty." The shut the backdoor so he couldn't get out and went off to bed. Bored and alone Rusty paced again then getting tired he went back to his bed. Sleep swallowed him as he welcomed it openly . Rusty crouched, watching the mouse as it scuttled in and out of the tree roots, the shadows dancing around it. The mouse turned its back and Rusty's tail twitched. He leapt and caught the mouse but it was soon replaced by a leaf as it crumbled in Rusty's claws. Confused Rusty turned around and saw a squirrel stuffing a nut into it's mouth underneath the shade of a maple tree. Rusty crouched again and holding his tail still watched as it bent it's head and then he pounced but then the squirrel was gone and he appeared at the edge of a forest and another cat sat in front of him watching him with a bemused expression on his face. The gray cat jumped at Rusty and they rolled over in a tussle and as they fought back and forth Rusty felt very alive. He ducked and rolled in ways he didn't think possible. He scratched at the gray cat and jumped back out of its reach. Suddenly there was a loud metallic bang and Rusty jumped with a start and found himself back in the kitchen beside his bead panting as if he had really fought that strange gray cat. He looked around and saw the human had dropped a round piece of metal and was now bent over to pick it up. Annoyed, Rusty got up and stalked over to the back door where he pushed out into the back yard and irritably shot a look back at the human. Pacing back and forth again he sniffed around the garden but there was nothing exciting there so he jumped back onto the fence and looked longingly out at the woods. Making up his mind he jumped down onto the grass and felt the difference between the grass inside the fence and this one. It wan't cut, not tame, it was soft and long and was covered in a slight dew. He wandered over to the treeline and sniffed at the tree and smelt other cats. Suddenly there was a rustle behind him and he whipped around to find the gray cat he had seen in his dreams infront him with the same bemused expression on his face.

Yes I know it's short but my cat did something really similar to it the other day. –lol- Insipiration strikes in the oddest movements.
