The Light
The bright light was always the same, illuminating every flower in the field. Falling back to watch the sun climb into the sky, her face turned up to the morning rays, she felt the sensation of being watched. It was always like this. Sitting up straight and tilting her head a bit as if asking 'why?', she faced the hidden visitor. The strap of her thin white nightgown slipped down to rest on her bicep, exposing a tanned shoulder to the morning light.
Kneeling up now, she held her hand out to the stranger who kept vigilant watch, beckoning them closer. As her eyes slid closed she felt a hand on hers, strong fingers intertwining with her own. Another hand caressed her exposed shoulder and adjusted the displaced satin strap, before gently stroking her cheek. As warm lips found hers she inhaled the sweetness of the surrounding blooms and the crisp, clean scent of her hidden lover. She returned the kiss with all the passion a young woman could muster, wrapping her free arm around his shoulders, pulling him closer. Tangling her fingers in his hair she opened her eyes only to find she was blinded by the sun, prohibiting her from seeing more than his profile.
Closing her eyes once more, she reveled in the silky feel of his mouth against hers. A chaste kiss to be sure but one full of desire she could barely contain. As he pulled away she heard a whisper
"Beautiful…"
She watched his form retreat into the stand of trees, recognition of his identity dancing in her mind. As always, she now knew who he was.
Sakura sat upright in bed, rubbing her eyes
"well that's a new one" she spoke softly, reaching for a small journal entitled Dreams
Tuesday May 5th - Kakashi
Friday May 29th - Sasuke
Monday June 13th – Neji
She ran her finger down the list and wrote her newest dream lover in the blank row underneath
Thursday June 21st - Shino
She sighed and settled back against her pillows with a contented smile on her face.
"I love Dreams"
