"Not a chance, love," he replied. I could hear the grin in his voice.
It was valentine's day, and Edward was taking me to some unknown place; well, unknown to me. All I knew was that I was on Edward's back and he was running (very fast, may I add). I could hear the occasional twig breaking and the rustling of leaves, so I guessed we were in woods. Maybe we were going to our meadow...?
After what seemed like forever, Edward stopped. He slipped the blindfold off, but I kept my eyes shut tight.
"Bella, you can open your eyes," he whispered. I slowly opened my eyes. I was right, we were in our meadow.
And right in the middle of our meadow...
Was a giant, red, heart blanket. With words on it. The words said "I love you" in hundreds of little "I love you" candy hearts. I immediately started to cry, it was so beautiful!
He took my crying the wrong way. "Oh no, love, what's wrong? Do you not like it? I'm so sorry..." he continued his rambling.
"No, no, Edward!" I said through my crying. "It's happy crying, I love it," I whispered. "It's the best Valentine's Day gift anyone has ever given me. Thank you," I added.
"I love you," he stated simply.
"I love you, too," I answered.
