If you were looking for a book filled with fictional nonsense, then I▓m afraid you▓re looking in the wrong place. This book is filled with what will be known as the history of my people, and all the other races on this planet. This story, as fantastic as it may seem, and as it seemed to me and my friends as it opened up before us, is completely and utterly the truth. And if history is determined to swallow us up as it seems to be, at least this one record will stand through the ages to prove we were here. That we did what we did, and brought our planet back from the brink of extinction and saved it from a technological high instilled by the Government to make us weak and easy to control.
Before we knew what happened, our democracy was turned into a dictatorship, and the change was so subtle that nobody knew it until too late. Those in power hid behind congress and supreme courts, pulling the strings of lesser people in power. They hoarded technology for themselves and saved all the best for them and their people. And we all know that as long as power is held by one person, or one group of people, there can be no peace.
The world has been reshaped into something new, and has been renamed and reshaped into something newer. With hope, newer will also mean better. Hopefully, people will read this in the future, remember the tragedy that occurred and prevent it from happening again, but I do so doubt that. People are prone to forgetfulness. We are short-lived, and the severity of things lessens as it is passed down from person to person, and even with this story here, I believe that eventually, this world will see a time where all of this will happen again.
Let it be enough that we have a respite from war for at least a little while. This story... well, you▓ll find out soon enough, I guess. Don▓t let me keep you from it, though. Read on, and learn what They are trying to keep the world from knowing. They have been a thorn in our sides for a while now, but you▓ll read more about that later on, when we get to it. For now, it▓s time for me to say goodbye, and let others take the stand.
