Hello everyone, I'm not going to say much because I want to get back to the story. Disclaimer I do NOT own any of the Sega/Sonic characters even though that would be pretty awesome.

~Amy's room~

"Why did Tails bring me into the argument?"

"Umm...well I'm not sure..." Sonic said in a hesitant tone. Amy raised her eyebrows and simply stared at Sonic.

"Sonic keeps moving around in his chair...and refuses to look at me. He even looks...uncomfortable. That's not like him." Amy thought. Sonic was shifting his weight, fiddling with his fingers and praying that Amy didn't notice how afraid he was. If it wasn't for his gloves, she surely would've seen how sweaty the palms of his hands had become and how shaky they were. With his head staring down at his hands he began to wonder.

"I can't tell her how much she means to me, not yet. If any one of my enemies found out how much I care about her they'll..."

His thought stopped there as he flinched at the thought of Amy being seriously harmed. He was so deep in thought that he didn't even notice that Amy had gotten up from her seat and now stood before him. She cautiously inched a hand towards him and finally placed it on his hand. To Sonic, her touch felt like a mini electric shock; he quickly pulled his hand away from hers in surprise.

"I'm sorry. You just looked so serious for a second there, it scared me a little."

Sonic raised his eyes and met hers in a locked gaze. She look a little taken back that he had so quickly removed his hand from hers. Daringly, he reached for her hand and pulled her closer to him, not taking his eyes away from hers. Amy's heart began to thud so loudly, she was afraid it might burst from her chest. And yet curiosity filled her mind as she couldn't help but wonder what Sonic was doing. Noticing how Amy's eyes began to sparkle and how shocked she looked, Sonic smiled. Looking deeply into her jade green-blue eyes, he said, "I'm sorry Ames. I've just got a lot on my mind, I'm not sure if I should...er tell you something."

By now Amy was kneeling down beside Sonic, although she was all too curious of what he was talking about she saw that this was the perfect opportunity to try and win Sonic over.

~With Cosmo~

Not too long ago had Cosmo awoken from her almost perfect dream. But realizing where she was, sadness now replaced her happiness. She was in a dark cell made of stone walls, there was a wide, narrow opening at the very top of the cell. It was too high for her to reach and the walls were too slippery and flat for her to climb. A ray of sunshine shone brightly through the opening, giving the dark room some light. Cosmo was curled up in the corner where the light shined brightly. Despite how warm the light felt on her skin she felt completely cold. She missed Tails, his smile, his tails that would wrap around her and keep her warm, his sweet voice and his arms around her. Tears began to swell up in her eyes as she remembered how she was suddenly taken away from him in the dream just as he was about to tell her something. She buried her head in her knees, allowing the tears to flow carelessly down her face and wrapped her arms around her knees.

"Oh Tails, I miss you so much." she softly cried. Suddenly she heard the cell door creak open; a dark figure emerged into the room. Cosmo immediately sprang to her feet and yelled, "Why did you bring me here? What did you do to Tails?!"

The shadow only chuckled in response. She clenched her fists together and tried to gather up all her courage.

"Come into the light! Is there a reason why you're hiding from me?"

Slowly the shadow emerged into the lit corner. Tom smiled at Cosmo's expression and said, "Well well, you sure are persistent aren't you? I didn't expect so much to come from such a small girl."

Swift as wind he drove Cosmo into the wall, both of his arms on either side of her head. His face was only inches away from hers, Cosmo began to blush a little.

"He looks so much like Tails...the only thing that looks different is the color of them. What's he going to do to me? Where are you Tails?"

"Now you're mine, no one will ever know your true potential. Cosmo, you aren't aware of the power you possess! Think of all the things we can do with your gifts!"

Tom let out a cackle as he pushed himself off the wall and away from her. Confusion filled her mind as she tried her best to pull herself together.

"Powers? Gifts? What gifts? What is he talking about?"

Tom turned towards her and smiled slyly, his dark, red eyes burning a hole into Cosmo's soul. She gave a small shiver and said, "I don't know what you're talking about. I don't have any gifts or powers."

Still smiling he replied, "Oh but you do. And with my help, you will soon know how to use them."

~With Tails~

Tails had heard an earful from Amy and Sonic. As he climbed quietly out of his bed, he look to the nearest window in the room.

"I better sneak out of here while I've got the chance. I'll just fly over to my workshop and grab the X-Tornado and fly over to that building Cosmo showed me. Where Tom is keeping her shouldn't be that hard to find...at least I hope so. Hold on a little bit longer Cosmo! I'm coming!"

Tails quickly opened up he window and twirled up his tails, pain instantly filled his body. He allowed his tails to drop as he brought one of them up to his face. Tails let out a soft groan, not only were his tails bent they were burned at the ends.

"I can't let a little pain stop me!" he exclaimed. Gritting his teeth together, he wound up his tails once more and flew out the window into the nighttime sky. Tails took a quick glance over his shoulder at the window he had just left.

"I'm sorry you guys but I have to save Cosmo before it's too late....Please forgive me."

"I'm going to check on Tails. He's been awfully quite, it's not like him at all." Amy said to Sonic who was smiling ever so brightly at her. He still held Amy's hand gently but firmly in his, when she tried to walk away he only tightened his grip. This caused her to burst into a giggling fit as he played with her fingers and tried to get away. Sonic managed to regain control of himself and force himself to allow Amy escape from him. She smiled and walked away into the hall and then down into Tails' room. Amy couldn't help but smile widely at the fact that her and Sonic were becoming closer and how he was being so sweet to her. Slowly she poked her head into the doorway of Tails' room and saw a bundle of blankets on the bed. Quietly she tiptoed over to his bed to take a peak at him, she leaned down and gently tugged at one of the covers.

"Tails? Are you okay-?"

But she stopped mid sentence and froze; Tails wasn't under the covers, it was only a bunch of pillows and other blankets.

"Tails!" she shrieked. Frantically she yanked all the covers off the bed and couldn't stop the tears that were coming. Sonic's ears perked up as he heard Amy and in the blink of an eye was standing by her side.

"Amy what's wrong? What happened?! Is Tails-"

He looked at the empty bed that laid before him and instantly understood. Glancing at Amy who was now crying quietly, he placed an arm around her shoulders and said, "Don't worry, we'll find him."

Amy began to sob and threw her arms around his neck and buried her head into his chest. Taken by surprise he froze only for a brief moment and then ever so carefully wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly.

"How'd he manage to escape?" he wondered but then smiled as he looked at the wide, open window that was not too far away from the bed.
