Hiya everyone!! I know it's been a long time since I've updated and I'm really sorry about that. Life's been very busy busy... Anywho, I think I've kept all my readers waiting long enough...back to our story ^.^

As the day was drawing to an end, Tails was becoming more anxious to find the hidden base. His memory was faded of the image that Cosmo had show him. Struggling to remember as much of the dream as possible, he became unaware of the plane slowly being dragged down by gravity. His eyes closed as the building he saw began to show up within his memory. Suddenly, the plane began to dive. Instantly his eyes shot open in surprise.

"Huh?" Tails asked in confusion. Quickly, he grabbed hold of the controls and forced the plane back to a steady position. "Might as well land the plane and get some sleep...it's getting too dark for me to see anything and I don't want to be noticed."

Swiftly but ever so quietly, he directed the plane to an opening among the trees. The plane sent off a huge wind as it landed in the small meadow. Tails turned off the engines and then pressed his hands against the cool glass of the X-Tornados dome. With little effort, he lifted the glass and hopped out of the plane. The moon was full and shone brightly down on the meadow. Tails sighed and glanced around at where he was and was suddenly awe-struck. The meadow was filled with tiny white flowers that shone and sparkled brightly when the moonlight hit them. Their petals looked soft and silky, their tips dipped in a pale blue. Unable to resist, Tails carefully knelt down and picked one.

"Something about these flowers...reminds me of Her. They're just..."Tails bit his lip and closed his eyes. Flashes of memories and moments went by his mind, ones that contained Cosmo. All the laughs, all the hugs and pure joy. It ached just to think about her. He shook his head and forced out the pain.

"No. No more."The little flowers seemed to feel like a giant pillow as Tails laid down on them. With a great sigh, the kitsune decided to finally allow sleep to fall upon him

"Tails? Tails are you alright?" came a quiet voice. Tails didn't open his eyes but spoke, "I'm fine...please be honest and tell me what's happened to you."

" I...would rather not."

Clenching his teeth together, he asked," Why not?"

A sigh and quiet sob was heard.

"Because I...don't want to see you in pain." she whispered.

"You...are worried...about me in pain?" he strained through clenched teeth.

"Yes."

"Cosmo, you're suffering and being hurt...and you are worried about me? I have to know what has happened to you. I need to know where you are."Cosmo whimpered, causing Tails to cringed at her pain and slowly open his eyes.

" Don't open your eyes...please." she begged.

"Why not?"

Cosmo whimpered again and in a shaky voice said, " If you open your eyes, you will see what I am, what I've become... and what has become of our world."

Tails felt a pair of hands softly but firmly on either side of his face as he opened his eyes.

"Don't--"

"Cosmo, I need to know. You cannot just expect me to keep my eyes closed forever." his eyes opened, the pain only became much worse. Her eyes, were no longer a beautiful sea blue but a horrifying dark, midnight blue. Her once healthy and full emerald green hair was now withered and limp as if someone had squeezed all the life out of them. The once bright, ruby red rose buds on her head and pendent on her chest was now pale...so pale that it was no longer a color. Cosmo's dress was torn and the color drained out of it.

"Wha- What has happened to you?!"

" He...made me.." she sobbed and fell to the ground on her knees and burried her face within her hands. Tails torn his gaze away from her and looked around and gasped. Their once beautiful and colorful world was now a wasteland. Everything was dead or looked as if it was dying. The trees no longer bore their luscious green leaves, they were empty and black. The grass was gone and the earth was cracked and hard. The sun was mostly blocked by the thick gray storm clouds that hovered above them. Tails wrapped his arms tightly around Cosmo and held her close as she sobbed onto his fur.

" What has he done to you?" he gasped.

"I'm not en-...entirely sure. He s-struck me and I-I was out for I'm not sure how l-long."

"Take deep breaths... one after the other Tails." he reminded himself. The anger melted into sadness.

" Oh, Cosmo!" he cried. Tails carefully placed a hand on her chin and lifted her head so he could see her. Her eyes were watery and tears slowly trickled down her pale cheeks.

" I will save you and I believe I'm close to where you are... I can feel it!"

"Tails... you're still coming to save me, even though I look like this?" she whispered as she waved a hand over her. Tails pulled Cosmo into a hug and then pressed his lips to her ear.

"Yes, because no matter what happens to you, you're still the most beautiful thing in my world. And I..." he paused to take a breath and pulled away so that he could look deeply into her eyes as he said, " And I... love you Cosmo."

At his words, Cosmo felt joy and butterflies fluttering around madly inside her. She smiled at Tails and said sweetly, " I love you too Tails."

Smiling at her, he suddenly felt a crazy sensation within himself. He hugged her once more and was about to kiss her when suddenly they both heard the ground crack.

"No!" Tails gasped. He clutched tighter onto Cosmo, refusing to let go.

" No! Tails!" she yelled as he began to be forced towards the opening void graved into the ground. Cosmo held onto him tightly and pulled him towards her with all her might.

"I will find you my love!" Tails hollered over the earthquake. The force of the opening was so strong that he slipped from Cosmo's arms. Quickly, she grabbed onto his arms and held onto him. "I know you will!" she yelled. Tails smiled as he let himself go and fell into the earth.

" Tails!" Cosmo cried as she watched him fall. She reached her arm out and wished to catch him but knew that he was long gone.

"Please hurry..."
