This is just something that popped into my head while watching Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix with my friend, I hope you like it!
Umbridge stared at Harry, her eyes half-mad. "The Cruciatus curse might loosen your tongue!" she cackled.
"No! You can't! It's against the law!" Hermione screamed, struggling against her captor.
"What Fudge doesn't know won't hurt him," Umbridge whispered dangerously as she placed his picture face down on the table. She turned towards Harry. "CRUCIO!"
Harry had expected it. He knew that pain was coming; after all he had endured the Cruciatus curse before, that night in the graveyard. He thought that, since he had endured it before the pain would be less, that he could keep himself from screaming. It couldn't.
He screamed, long and hard, but the pain wouldn't stop. It was burning him from the inside out. He just wished that Umbridge would kill him, get it over with. Suddenly the burning stopped, but the pain didn't. He gave a half-sob half-whimper.
"Why were you trying to reach Dumbledore?" Umbridge said, crazed by the sudden power of pain coursing through her veins.
"I….Won't….tell you!" Harry said defiantly while he gripped his stomach. "Fine! CRUCIO!" And the burning came rushing back in.
Hermione, Ron, Neville, and Ginny watched in horror as their best friend writhed in the chair until he fell off onto the floor, still writhing and screaming his head off. The pain of seeing Harry so vulnerable was unbearable.
"STOP!" Hermione screamed, her voice meshing with Harry's. "I'll tell you." Umbridge reluctantly lifted the curse, leaving Harry panting and moaning. "Yes?" Umbridge said, her wand pointed menacingly at Harry. "W-we wanted to tell him that his…weapon was done." "Weapon! What weapon?" Umbridge shrieked. "Take me to it! Get up Harry! You're coming too." Hermione stumbled to the shaking Harry.
"C'mon Harry, get up…it's done, it's okay." She whispered to him as she helped him stumble to his feet.
Hmm…shorter than I expected, but tell me what you think! And if you have any other ideas for 'What if…" stories, please tell me! Tchussi!
