Prosecutor's Office Room 1202
Dearest Mother,
How's life? I hope you're doing well; Maya has been quite happy nowadays, especially with Pearl, our newest cousin. As for me, today will be my second case as a lawyer, and I do hope that becoming one has been the right choice for Maya and the rest of the family.
I have quite the surprise for you: I have a daughter! Other than myself and the doctors, you are the only one to know this fact, as her father died a couple of months before we even knew I was pregnant, and I cannot bring myself to tell either Kurain or my co-workers the news, in fear of being disrespected or bringing about a sad fate to my daughter.
I have told you this news because I cannot take care of her for long; Mr. Grossberg, my superior, is already suspicious of my actions, such as my six-month leave. I therefore entrust her to your care, however heartbroken I may be not to spend time with little Ami. Please do take care of her, prepare her for the Kurain life, but do not yet reveal the sad truth of our family.
I know you will care for her as you did with Maya and myself.
Love always,
Mia.
Miles Edgeworth,
Please send this letter and package to Misty Fey. I know that you have been keeping an eye on her, as well as the government. Please do this as a personal favor, and do not alert anyone of these actions. I owe you one.
Mia Fey
Edgeworth stared at the yellow Post-it note stuck onto the box that had mysteriously arrived at his office. He remembered quite well the author of the note: a rookie defense attorney that he came against in his first trial, which was, he recalled, quite a mysterious and horrible event. He would never have guessed that this same woman would ask for help from the prosecutor she'd almost defeated, and to try and establish contact with the woman who put the name Fey to shame. But enough of that, he thought, taking out the file for Ami Fey from his cabinet of witness profiles. Noting the address, he took the box with the letter and infant, locked the door to his room, and headed for the car.
