The next afternoon I was sitting on my bed reading the potion's book Snape had given me for Christmas. There were so many potions that looked difficult to make, but the one at the end... looked the worst. Sirius knocked on my door and walked in.
"Hey kid, what are you doing?" He asked me sitting next to me.
"Just reading... hey have you heard of this Alakazam potion?" I asked him.
"Isn't that the potion that is supposed to reverse the Avada Kedavra curse?" He said looking at the potion.
"I thought there was nothing..." I said.
"I don't know too much about potions kid, there is another meeting tonight, maybe Snivy Snape will come and you can ask him." he suggested.
"You don't have a problem with me asking Professor Snape something?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"I may hate him, but he's good at potions..." He admitted.
I closed the book.
"Then I'll ask him then, can you ask him to stay behind after the meeting?" I asked
"Only if I get to meet your boyfriend." Sirius smirked.
If you only knew...
"Dad...please... not this again." I moaned.
"Come on Kate, I'm not asking for much." He pleaded.
Again... If you only knew...
I sighed... I really wanted to know more about this potion.
"Umm, okay? But not... anytime soon." I said.
"Well it's better than a flat no." Sirius smirked.
He messed up my hair.
"Sirius!" I yelled as I tried to fix my hair.
"Come down for lunch, Molly made some sandwiches" Sirius said standing up.
"Does she ever go home?" I asked.
"It's safer here... she wants to protect her family." Sirius said.
"I guess that makes sense." I replied.
"See you down stairs Kate." Sirius said walking out the door.
"See you dad..." I whispered as he left the room.
I opened my book again and started reading the Alakazam potion again.
Later that night there was a knock at my bedroom door.
"It's open." I yelled as I folded the Daily Prophet and placed it beside me.
The door opened and Professor Snape walked in.
"You're father said you wanted to see me about some potion?" He said smirking.
"He sent you up to my room?" I asked.
"I guess he doesn't know about us?" He asked
I sighed.
"He's been bugging me about meeting my boyfriend." I informed him
Snape closed the door behind him and sat at the end of my bed.
"Well that might be a problem." He smirked.
"It isn't funny! He's very persistent! He's going to kill me if he ever finds out." I whined.
"He's not going to find out, you worry too much." Snape said as he moved closer to me.
I leaned over and kissed him. How I missed his lips.
"If you wanted to see me, you didn't have to lie about a question about a potion." Snape smirked as he kissed my neck.
"I actually had a question." I breathed.
He stopped kissing my neck and looked up at me.
"Really?" He asked.
I reached over to my bed side table and grabbed the potion book. I flipped threw the back pages until I found the beginning to the Alakazam potion. I handed him the book.
"What's with this potion?" I asked.
He skimmed over the page.
"It's a counter potion to the Avada Kedavra curse." He said handing the book back to me.
"But I thought there was no counter to that curse?" I asked
"There isn't as if yet... no one has been able to properly make this potion." Snape informed me.
"Really?" I asked.
"I've even tried it and didn't succeed." He replied.
I looked over the pages.
"If you make it incorrectly, the person will come back as some sort of zombie... not the kind that want to eat your brains, but they will try and kill you, and then you will just have to kill them again." Snape informed me.
"Did that happen to you?" I asked.
"Yes, I tried it on a fox one night, and it came back as this zombie creature... that was the only time I tried it." Snape commented.
I closed the book.
"Okay, that's all I wanted to know." I said putting the book back on the side table.
"Are you going to attempt to make it?" He asked me.
"One day maybe..." I smiled.
"Well, I better go before Sirius comes up and checks on us." Snape said getting off the bed.
"When will I see you again?" I asked getting off the bed as well.
"I don't know." He whispered as he placed his hand on my cheek.
"I might be able to sneak out again..." I smirked
"Then I'll send you an owl when it's a good time." he replied.
He gently brushed his lips against mine. There was a knock at the door. We quickly separated.
"Yeah, it's open..." yelled at the door.
Sirius walked in.
"Did you get the answer you were looking for?" Sirius asked glaring at Snape.
"Uh, yeah, Professor Snape was actually just leaving." I said.
"If you have anymore questions , don't hesitate to ask me." Snape said as he walked towards the door.
"Thank you Professor Snape." I replied as he left my bedroom and headed down the stairs.
"Ugh, I hate that guy..." Sirius muttered
I rolled my eyes.
"I don't understand how you could like a slime ball like Snivy." Sirius commented.
My stomach clenched.
"Like?" I asked
"Yeah, you're probably the only person besides Dumbledore who can stand the guy." Sirius commented
"He actually not that bad Dad..." I replied.
"He's probably only nice to you because you were in Slytherin." Sirius said.
"Maybe..." I replied.
"Anyways, I'm glad you got an answer out of him." Sirius said smiling.
"Yeah, me too." I replied.
"Oh before I forget, Dumbledore dropped off a letter for you." Sirius said pulling out an envelope out of his pocket.
"Dumbledore?" I asked taking it from him.
I opened the letter.
"Please meet me in the front of 12 Grimmauld Place tomorrow evening. 9:00pm"
- Albus Dumbledore.
"I wonder what that's all about." I commented as I handed Sirius the letter.
"Who knows with Dumbledore" Sirius said looking over the letter.
"Isn't this address, your address?" I asked
Sirius glanced at the letter again.
"Yep." He confirmed.
"Well at least I don't have to go very far..." I replied.
"You can't anyways" Sirius commented as he started to walk out of my bedroom as well.
"What?" I asked
"You're still grounded." Sirius said smirking
"Oh come on, when am I ungrounded?" I asked
"When I get to meet your boyfriend." Sirius said.
"You did though." I smirked
"You're REAL one." He smirked
I meant the real one too... the one who just walked out of my bedroom.
Sirius winked and shut the door behind him when he left.
Reia and I were hanging out in her room the next day.
"Oh, did I tell you I got this weird letter from Dumbledore. Told me to meet him outside at 9:00" I informed her.
She stopped putting on her eye liner.
"You got one too?" She asked
"You got one!" I asked.
"Yeah!" She exclaimed.
"That's so weird; I wonder what he wants..." I said.
"Dumbledore is crazy anyways; I would just go with it." Reia said as she continued to put on her eye liner.
"So what happened with you a Clyde?" I asked
"Claude... and he went back to Russia." She said as she applied lip balm.
"Why did he go back?" I asked
"Because, I told him I didn't want to be in a relationship with him." She said looking at me.
I sighed.
"You're never going to settle down are you?" I asked
"Why on earth would I do that!" Reia exclaimed.
I rolled my eyes.
"We're not all stupid like you Katie... I am not a one man kind of woman." She smirked.
"In other words... you're a whore?" I joked.
She threw her pillow at me.
"Shut up, I am not." She giggled.
I threw the pillow back at her.
"You so are Reia. Just admit it." I smirked.
"Okay, maybe..." She admitted.
There was a soft knocking at the door. And Harry's friend Hermione walked in.
"Kate?" She asked
"Yeah?" I replied back.
"This note came for you." She said shyly as she handed me an envelope.
"Thank you... its Hermione isn't it?" I asked
"Yeah..." She replied back.
"Are you in Gryffindor as well as Harry?" I asked trying to make small talk.
"Yeah. I heard you both were in Slytherin." She commented.
"Yeah, I assure you we are not all evil." I smirked
"Well I better get going; Ginny and I are heading out to get out school supplies." She said turning away.
"Yeah okay... see you around then." I said as she left the room.
"She looks like a know-it-all." Reia mumbled.
I looked down at the Envelope. A familiar near handwriting was printed on the front of it.
Ms. Kate Black
"I think it's from Snape." I grinned.
"Well! Open it already!" Reia exclaimed.
I tore open the envelope.
Midnight tonight.
S.S
I held the letter up to my chest. I felt as light as a feather.
"Well!" Reia asked impatiently.
I handed her the note.
"How are you going to escape this time?" She asked glanced down at the note.
"Anyway I can." I smirked as I took the note back from Reia.
Reia didn't reply. In fact she went unusually quiet.
"Reia?" I asked
Her gazed was fixed behind me. I followed it and saw Sirius standing there smirking.
"Who's the note from Kate?" He asked.
"Um, Dumbledore...was just confirming our time for the meeting tonight." I lied.
He walked up to me and held out his hand.
"Give me the note Kate." He demanded.
I shook my head.
"Give me the note" He repeated.
I slowly raised my hand with the note in it and reluctantly handed him the note.
"Hmmm, tonight at midnight eh? Sorry to break it too you kid, but you're still grounded." He said ripping the note in two.
"Sirius! I'm old enough to do what I please!" I demanded
"As long as you're living under my roof, you obey my rules. No leaving the house until I have met the boy." Sirius demanded.
"This isn't fair!" I yelled
"Well it isn't fair that I haven't met this S.S before either." Sirius said.
My stomach clenched when he said 'S.S'. Would he put two and two together?
"I already told you why I won't let you meet him!" I exclaimed.
"My decision is final..." Sirius said as he turned to walk out of the room.
"Sirius!" I cried out.
He turned around quickly, a bit of anger flashed in his eyes.
"My decision is final!" he repeated
"UGH, THIS IS COMPLETLY UNFAIR!" I yelled at him.
He turned away and slammed the door behind him. I sighed and looked over at Reia, She was sitting there smiling.
"What the hell are you smiling at?" I asked
"You're dad is amazing hot when he's pissed off." She said fanning herself with her hand.
If would have had anything near me at that moment, I would have throw it at her.
"Sirius, I'm going to my meeting with Dumbledore" I called out as Reia and I headed for the door.
"You better come home right after." Sirius said from the other room.
"Whatever." I mumbled as I opened the door.
Dumbledore was standing at the end of the walkway waiting for Reia and me.
"Good evening girls." He said smiling.
"Good evening Professor Dumbledore." I replied bitterly, still mad at Sirius.
"I'm happy you both could meet me tonight, sorry for the timing, but it seems to be the only time I have available." Dumbledore said, bowing slightly.
"What's the meeting about?" Reia asked.
"We're not going to discuss it here." Dumbledore said holding out both of his hands.
Reia and I glanced at each other.
"Shall we?" Dumbledore asked.
Reia and I slowly reached out and grabbed on top Dumbledore cold, frail hand. Suddenly it felt like we were stuck in a vacuum. Everything compressed and colors flashed before my eyes.
