"Kate, please open up." Sirius' voice said from the other side of my door.

"Fuck off Sirius" I yelled back at him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for you too see that!" Sirius tried to explain.

"I don't want to hear it!" I screamed.

"Katie... it's me... let me in." Reia said softly from the other side of my door.

I looked at my door. I unlocked it and opened it a crack to let Reia in. She was wrapped in her robe. I shut the door in Sirius' face.

"Oh come on Kate!" Sirius said.

"Kate... I'm so sorry... it just kind of happened." Reia said grabbing my shoulders.

"How could you though... he's my father." I said.

"I know, and I feel like shit. It should have never happened." She replied bowing her head. "Honestly Reia..." I said turning away.

"I'm so sorry." She said grabbing my arm.

"Reia... can you just go? I'll talk to you tomorrow." I said, still not looking at her.

"Yeah, okay..." She said opening the door.

"Kate, please talk to me." Sirius said as Reia opened the door.

I didn't say anything to him as Reia closed the door behind her.

I tossed and turned for most of the night. The images of my best friend on my dad haunted every dream I attempted to have. I sat up in bed. Chance stretched out on my bed and yawned as I climbed out of bed.

I walked to the window and looked down at the street. I squinted at something standing on the pavement. All I could make out is the black outline only highlighted by the orange light of the street lamp. Chance let out a soft meow that made me jump. I looked back at him.

"What?" I hissed at him.

He yawned and started licking himself.

"Ugh... Chancey..." I groaned as I turned back towards the window.

I looked down again at the street and saw that the dark figure was gone. I looked up and down the street, seeing the figure no where. I closed my curtains and backed away from the window.

"That's a little creepy." I whispered to myself.

I went back to my bed and pulled out my potions book and began reading until I finally passed out with the book over my face.

I slowly descended the stairs into the dining room the next morning. I was relieved when only Professor Lupin was sitting at the dining room table.

"Good morning." Lupin said looking up from the newspaper.

"Morning..." I mumbled as I poured myself a cup of coffee.

Professor Lupin folded the newspaper.

"Kate, may I ask you a question?" He asked folding his hands in his lap.

I took a sip of my coffee.

"Sure." I replied lowering my cup.

"What do you want to do with your life?" He asked me.

"What do you mean?" I asked

"Well, the job at Hogwarts might not last forever... then what?" He asked.

I sat down across from him at the table.

"I guess I haven't really thought about it." I answered.

"Well you should be. You are at a crucial part of your life." He commented.

"I guess..." I mumbled.

"Kate..." Sirius' voice came from behind me.

I turned around and saw him standing in the door way to the dining room.

"I have to go Professor Lupin." I said standing up.

"Kate please, I want to talk about this." He said standing in my way.

"There is nothing to talk about Sirius." I said pushing past him.

Sirius didn't follow me.

"By the way" I started to say as I ascended the stairs. "I'm considering myself ungrounded."

I headed out the door around noon without talking to anyone. I wanted to grab some more books and ingredients for some potions I wanted to try. I headed back after a quick bite to eat. I walked threw the door as I shoved the last bit of my sandwich in my mouth. Reia was sitting on the steps looking at her hands. She looked up when I came closer.

"Hey..." She mumbled.

I swallowed.

"Hey..." I mumbled back.

"Can we talk?" She asked.

"Sure..." I said climbing up the stairs.

She followed me into my bedroom.

"Kate, I'm so sorry about yesterday..." She said.

"I know..." I said putting my shopping bags down.

"Can you ever forgive me?" She asked

"Depends..." I replied.

"Depends on what?" She asked.

"Are you going to continue... errmmm... seeing him?" I asked

"No of course not, it was a one time thing." Reia promised.

I sighed.

"Well then I guess I can forgive you." I smirked

She ran up and hugged me.

"In all fairness I did say no promises." Reia mumbled.

"Don't push it" I replied.

I still didn't talk to Sirius until the next day, and it wasn't by choice. He cornered me in my own room.

"Kate, we need to talk about this!" Sirius said.

"Okay you want to talk about this then? Why did you fuck my best friend?" I asked

"I don't know..." He whispered.

"Okay, that was a great talk... you may leave now." I said looking out my window.

"Please Kate... I am so sorry." He pleaded.

It was a bit unfair that I forgave Reia and not Sirius. I turned around and looked into his sorrow filled eyes. He did actually look like he was sorry.

"Okay..." I whispered.

"Okay?" He repeated

"I forgive you..." I added.

He ran up to me and gave me a huge hug and gripped me tightly.

"Sirius! I can't breath!" I mumbled.

"I don't care; just let me hug you right now." He replied.

"Sirius, really! I can't feel my arms anymore." I said.

He slowly released his grip around me.

"I'm so sorry kid." He said, looking me in the eyes.

"Yeah..." I replied.

He hugged me tight again.

"I'm going to stop forgiving you if you keep hugging me this tight!" I managed to say threw his tight hug.

He released me quickly.

"Sorry." He said

"And stop saying sorry!" I exclaimed.

The end of August approached quickly. Snape has been to busy doing things with the Order before the school year began, that we didn't see each other since the 'meeting'.

In just three day, Reia and I would be heading back to Hogwarts.

"What do you want to do today Kate?" Reia asked sitting upside down in an arm chair.

"We should probably pack..." I sighed from the floor

"Or... we could go back to that little beach..." Reia smirked.

I glanced over at her amazingly tanned skin.

"I think you got enough color Reia." I said sitting up.

"Oh, and you don't!" She replied lifting her head slightly.

I rubbed my eye and stretched out on the floor.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I muttered.

I heard footsteps coming into the room. I tilted my head back and saw an upside down Sirius looking at me.

"Hey dad..." I said.

"What in the world are you girls doing?" She asked us.

"We are deciding on what to do today." Reia replied.

"Shouldn't you two be packing?" He asked

"We've already discussed that, but it got out voted with a beach vote." I replied.

"I thought you didn't want to go." Reia commented.

"Well, it's better then packing." I replied.

"You girls pack. Enough beach time." Sirius said.

Reia and I groaned. Another set of foot steps came into the room. I tilted my head back and saw Harry up-side down.

"Kate, this letter just came for you." He said handing me an envelope.

I quickly turned around and grabbed it before Sirius managed to.

"Thanks Harry!" I said holding it away from Sirius.

"Open it Kate..." Sirius demanded.

"It's okay. I think I'm going to wait until later." I replied.

"Who's the note from?" Harry asked.

"Kate's boyfriend that I haven't met yet." Sirius replied.

"Oh? What's his name I might know him" Harry said

My eyes widened...

"His initials are S.S" Sirius said.

Oh god, please don't figure out that it's Professor Snape. Harry was silent.

"Nope, doesn't ring any bells..." Harry finally said shrugging his shoulders. "Damnit" Sirius replied.

I smirked.

"You got lucky this time Kate." Sirius said as he walked out. "So, who is it?" Harry asked.

"Sorry Harry, I can't say." I smirked.

Harry rolled his eyes and walked out of the room as well. I opened the letter. Nothing was written on it.

"What the...?" I said flipping over the note.

"What's up?" Reia asked.

"There's nothing on it." I replied.

"Maybe there is some sort of invisible ink?" Reia suggested.

"Yeah, but how do I reveal the ink?" I asked.

"Ask it?" She suggested

"Reveal your writing." I said to the letter.

Nothing appeared.

"Well, he would want to make sure Sirius couldn't read it if he found it." Reia commented.

"That still doesn't really help me." I replied.

"Maybe you should ask that know-it-all friend of Harry's." Reia said.

"Great idea!" I replied

I knocked on her bedroom door.

"Come in." Her voice said from the other side of the door.

"Hey sorry to bug you, but I thought you could help me with something." I said handing her the note.

"There's nothing on it." Her friend Ginny said.

"It's invisible ink." I replied

"Hmmm" Hermione said looking at the letter.

"Who is it from?" Ginny replied.

"Uh, just someone." I said

"Her boyfriend." Reia chimed in.

"Reia!" I exclaimed.

Reia smirked.

"It might be the lover's kiss ink." Hermione said.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Try kissing it." She said handing it to me.

I raised an eyebrow.

"I'm serious! Kiss it!" She pushed.

I slowly lifted the letter up to my face and kissed it. Black ink started seeping into the paper.

"Tomorrow night, midnight, be in bed

S.S"

"What does that mean?" Ginny asked.

"Oh, um... nothing." I said shoving the letter in my pocket. "Thanks a lot of Hermione."

I got up and left the room, Reia right behind me.
