A/N: This is a story I adopted from secretsinger. So no, the original
plot idea is not mine. You should thank secretsinger for the amazing ideas! You can read the beginning of the story at: "Mr Darcy a knight in armour on hold". I hope to do as well as her, but I seriously doubt that will be the case.
And now, "Mr. Darcy: A Knight In Armor"
"Lizzy!" called out Mrs. Bennet, "I cannot believe it. You sly girl.
Hiding your Mr. Darcy! We must go to London at once. There is so much to do!"
"Mama," cried Lizzy embarassedly, "Please. Let us go inside first before we begin this conversation."
Jane and Lizzy got down from the carriage and headed inside behind their mother.
"Ah, Lizzy," came Mr. Bennet's voice from the study, "Do come in."
Lizzy stepped into the warm study, glad to be away from her mother's tirades.
"Lizzy, I thought you despised Mr. Darcy. Why do you wish to marry him?" asked Mr. Bennet without preamble.
"Oh Papa," said Lizzy, sinking down into a chair, "He is not what he seems in public."
"Pray explain?" asked Mr. Bennet, quirking an eyebrow skeptically.
"He is so... Kind and considerate. He has a very good sense of humor- you would like him if you got to know him better. Please Papa. I love him. He truly is the best man I know."
"Well, I suppose I could do worse than consent- although I have already given it. I did not want you to marry for some misguided obligation. But as long as you love him..."
Lizzy got up and kissed her father before coming out of the study and searching for Jane. But in the drawing room she found her mother, not Jane.
"Come sit, Lizzy. We have much to discuss," said Mrs. Bennet.
"Mama, I need to find Jane," pleaded Lizzy.
"Oh, Jane can wait. We must discuss your wedding. It must be fit for the wife of a man with 10,000 a year." And with these words, Lizzy glumly gave her afternoon away to talk of lace and china.
A/N: Yes, it is very short. Please tell me what you think!
