The stars were quite bright tonight. My dobe and I were sitting on a hillside over looking Konoha. We just thought it would be nice to get away for a couple hours. Chatting…. We were just chatting about stuff. He had his arm around me, snuggling me into his side. It was lovely, sitting there not a care in the world.
"You know I really want a holiday soon." He said to me.
"What makes you say that?" I inquired. He was never one to demand or strike out about anything.
"Well Lee has just gone off to Suna to spend his holiday with Gaara…." He sounded quite sad.
"Your not jealous are you? Of that dangleberrie? He's just a hopeless romantic. I've no idea how Gaara puts up with him?" I laughed. A small smile crept across my lovers face.
"Not jealous of him in particular, just the fact of getting away from it all. And spending some time with his lover…" his voiced trailed off as if I would be hurt in some way.
"Hey Temari is due her baby soon isn't she?" I said trying to take his mind off the subject. "It's really exciting don't you think? First one of us to have one right? Shikamaru must be proud?" I was looking forward to Temari and Shikamaru having their baby….
"God you are so much like a woman." He laughed. "Shikamaru was quite embarrassed and nervous about it at the night of the baby shower. When we went drinking? And you stayed with the women, Iruka and Lee." I blushed, and I blushed hard. I never thought of myself as womanly but I was squealing like a little girl at the presents at the baby shower, and I was quite at home looking at the frilly little dresses in the baby shop. Temari and Shikamaru decided they didn't want to know the sex of the baby so I couldn't buy the frilly dress I was in love with. I had bought them a little Christmas baby growth because it was apparently going to be born in December. I liked the idea of having a little girl. But you never can tell it's a lucky dip really. My lover and I had talked it over, the baby thing, he wasn't so keen on it but he said he would if I was dead set on it. I think a little girl would be good for him. He would be a good dad. The air was getting quite cold and I gave a small shiver and huddled in closer to my partner.
"You cold?" He asked
"A little." I snuggled in a bit closer.
"Come on….. There's nice warm blankets and tea at home Naruto….." He got up, stretched and offered me a hand up. I smiled and took it. He hauled me up and we started walking down the hill. He entwined his fingers in mine. I closed the gap between us and whispered in his ear.
"I love you Sasuke Uchiha…."
"I love you too…. Naruto Uzumaki." I smiled and blushed a little bit. My heart skipped a beat every time he said that….
I live in happiness I thought to myself….
