I stare at her, bewildered. Why is she crying? I open my mouth, probably to say something like, "I'm sorry," but what comes out is "Mmf." She takes it as protest.
"Sev, we can't be friends any more. It won't work. I –" Her voice breaks off, leaving the words unsaid between us hanging.
I wish I knew why she's leaving me. There are tears in her eyes that in the silence spill over. I watch as she cries.
It's my fault, isn't it? I tried to kiss her and now… It's all over.
