At the station

Darrel was standing on the platform; around her were the familiar whistles and the announcements sounding overhead. She checked her watch, ten to eleven. Some of the girls should be here soon she thought and felt a tad anxious as she thought she might be the only one. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of shining blond hair. Darrel gaped. She didn't think Gwendoline would come! She'd seen her at the pictures, pouting her way through her lines and just generally looking as amazing and as different as she could be from her school days. Darrel cautiously made her way over to where Gwendoline was standing and gave a tentative smile, not too sure whether it could really be Gwendoline Lacey, the infamous actress.

Behind her dark glasses Darrel saw her smile back and felt a bit surprised, she had not expected such a warm smile, she soon recovered and said

"Gwendoline! It's been so long, how are you?"

"Oh Darrel, I'm perfectly wonderful, it is so good to see you again! Simply cannot wait to see all the girls again"

Darrel opened her mouth to reply when suddenly she was hit by a crushing hug that nearly knocked her off her feet. It was Belinda, looking merry as ever.

"Darrel my darling! So good to see you again, missed you dreadfully of course"

Belinda looked up and her mouth fell open at the sight of tall, willowy and simply stunning Gwendoline.

"Gwen! I didn't think you'd… Oh so good to see you"

Belinda reached up and hugged Gwendoline just as a whistle sounded somewhere

"Come on, I expect that'd be the train, we will probably see the others as we pass their stations"

The three women picked up their bags and climbed aboard. In the carriage Gwendoline suddenly tilted her head to one side and smiled,

"Remember Darrel, that first train journey, where I didn't get to sit next to the window?" She laughed and rushed towards the window seat. Darrel smiled as well, she had not expected Gwen to have changed so much. She sat next to her good-naturally and they began to talk as the train pulled out of the station and began to chug its way to Cornwall.
