Again, I don't own Hetalia or its characters. Please read, review, follow, favourite, and ENJOY!
Once again, I'm dragged into this hell of "brotherhood" or some bullshit. Me, Dan and Ice? That is literally the worst possible group that could be travelling to this stupid-ass carnival. With our current situation, it'd be as bad as locking Romano and Germany in the same room for 12 hours. Except they wouldn't kill each other brutally with some nice high fives in the face with a fist. I dunno, maybe I'm just frustrated because I didn't have much sleep last night. Even though I went to bed rather early, there was that... stupid dream, and Dan waking me up...
While it doesn't seem that there's really any reason for me to go, I rethink it: I mean, really, England's going to be there so we could talk, and maybe I can talk to Ice and Dan just alone without the other. I let out a small sigh as I finish getting changed. A muffled distant voice of Dan can be heard from outside the house. He's yelling at me to hurry up. Honestly though, I'd just rather not. But hey, it's not too bad, right?
While Dan, Ice and I walk towards America's place, we stayed relatively silent, even for Dan himself. Maybe a few words here and there, but mostly a quiet walk. That's a first. But I can't let my guard down. Maybe they're trying to ease me into this false sense of security and they'll leap on to me and fuck me up like they usually do. Ice and his stupidly cold attitude mixed with Dan's fiery optimism... I guess couldn't end too well.
My thoughts were soon interrupted by none other than my stupid "brother" and "boyfriend" yelling out.
"THERE IT IS!"
"What are you, seven?" I ask, "it's not like you've never been to something like this before."
Dan simply chuckles as he quickly jogs up to the entrance, leaving me and Ice behind. I sneak a glance over at my younger brother and I see his cute, angrily pursed lips that rested at an adorable pout. I give him a small push forward, basking in what little physical touch I could get out of the encounter. He rolls his eyes and picks up his pace, and we eventually catch up to the obliviously loud little fuck that we have to babysit.
By the time we got up to the ticket counter, Dan had already paid the entry fee for this stupid carnival. The big overreaching arch read "The Super Special FUNdrasing Carnival For Spain" (with "Feat. AMERICA THE HERO" in large letters, almost as big as the carnival title itself). Great, a stupid carnival-party that needs to be extravagantly named. Of course, who would have imagined any less from the good ol' US of A?
We slowly make our way through this make-shift amusement park. A tiny ferris wheel that only has six cars, a small go-kart circuit, and a lot, and I mean A LOT, of food stands. Not that that was unexpected, but still surprising. Foods from hot dogs to ramen to fried oreos to pizza with pepperoni and bacon-wrapped Italian sausage were sold, and at such a low price! Maybe this wouldn't be too bad of a fundraiser since things were inexpensive and probably bearable.
With these great options in mind, I first got Ice's attention, especially since Dan was already in the line for some corn dogs. I slowly spoke up, hoping not to bother him too much.
"Hey, so, um... about... the past few days... I've been meaning to talk to you..."
"You don't actually like him. I know." This startled me. How did he know? Did Dan tell him? Does he know my plan? However, I kept my cool and continued.
"Look, it's nothing personal. He asked me out, and he begged. That's why I reluctantly said yes after a long pause of silence. I had to, or he was gonna throw one of those stupid hissy fits." Another half-truth. I really need to stop with this damn habit.
"I know the real reason," Ice whispered. "I know why you're doing this to me."
I tried to seem unfazed, as if he was bluffing, but at this point, what was the use? Why do I bother keeping up with this facade?
"And what reason is that?" I calmly ask, trying to not break character.
"It's because-"
A/N: "it's because I need a cliff hanger~"
lmao I'm just kidding, there's a real reason, and that is *drum roll* shorter chapters more often instead of longer chapters less often!
Until next time,
HASTA LA PASTA~
