Billy
Something exploded beneath us, and people were screaming.
"Follow me, and don't lose these pens," Mr. Mirand yelled at us while handing us pens.
"What are they for?" I asked.
"Fighting back," Mr. Mirand replied.
"Against what, exactly?" one kid asked.
"You don't even want to think about it they are so bad!"
Mr. Mirand led us down to the 6th Grade wing, and it was flooded. Most kids were swimming toward the stairs, but some were struggling, and others were trapped in classrooms.
"What in Hades happened here?" Mr. Mirand yelled.
Someone ran down the stairs.
"Oh, Mr. Mirand, no need to swear, it is just a minor, err, miscalculation from one of the mages experiments," said Mr. Stamer, my old Math teacher.
"Are you sure, Chris?" asked Mr. Mirand.
"Err, no."
"TEACHERS! TO ARMS!" yelled Mr. Mirand.
The teachers all pulled various weapons from who-knows-where. They had AK-47s, spears, swords, a few were using magical staffs and one teacher even had an RPG-7. They got ready for battle when boats started appearing. The boats carried clay soldiers, and as soon as the boats came into view the AKs went off.
"Those cannot be legal," I said.
"Well… they are, at least, they were legally acquired," said Mr. Mirand.
Just then a loud BOOM shook the place.
"Guess I should have warned you, our RPGs can make small scale nuclear explosions, minus the radiation for safety purposes," Mr. Mirand said, as he held his ears with his hands.
"Cool," Ryan said, watching the battle with earnest.
The magicians were using there staffs to save the kids, while the other teachers fought against the clay men. Just as it looked like the teachers would win, another giant snake appeared. This one got in through the back entrance to the school.
Mr. Mirand yelled out when he saw the snake, "Holy Zeus, its Cetus, everyone, brace yourselves!"
Cetus swam through the water, knocking down teachers left and right. Mr. Mirand went strait for the snake.
"Press the button on the bottom of the pens," he ordered, "don't go down the steps for anything!"
We all pressed the pens, just like Mr. Mirand said to, and they turned into 3-foot long swords. Most of the kids had bronze swords, but mine was silver.
"Come on, the teachers obviously need our help," I said.
Naturally all the guys follow me, realizing that it was the exact opposite of what Mr. Mirand said. (Kids are so smart these days.)
"Billy, wait you do realize this is the exact OPPOSITE of what Mr. Mirand told us to do!" said Courtney, a girl in my class.
"That is the point," I said, "Why wouldn't we disobey, they need our help!"
"You boys are stupid," she said in reply
"Whatever, I am going, so if you want to be eaten by the clay things, be my guest," I replied.
While we were arguing, the monsters all made for the stairs. Most of the boats, thanks to the teachers, didn't make it, but one did. 30 or so monsters stared at us, waiting for us to make the first move.
"CHARGE," I screamed.
The monsters instantly charged. I instantly killed one, but three more ganged up on me.
"So this is how you wanna play, huh?" I said, "Well, take this!"
Something overcame me and I rapidly started slashing, slicing, and stabbing, not only those three, but any others waiting to attack the survivors.
"HELP!" someone screamed.
I ran over, and started helping some of my classmates. Strangely some of the girls had no trouble fighting with a sword, and besides my fancy swordplay when triple teamed, Courtney had the best swordsmanship.
"Help anyone needing it," I yelled to her.
I started to help everyone that needed it, and within a few more minutes, it was over. No one died, but many people had wounds in the arms and legs.
"Billy, look at your wounds, they're terrible!" said someone.
"They're fine," I said, "Worry about the others."
The snake was still out there, and it was about to eat Mr. Mirand when a shadow appeared over the snake.
"Be gone, Cetus!" it said, as it brought a sword down on Cetus. The snake then disappeared; it didn't even turn to dust.
"Holy Zeus," Mr. Mirand said, "Who are you?"
"A shadow… a shadow who shouldn't be alive," it said, "My name is Bianca… Bianca Di Angelo."
One of the teachers gasped, "Aren't you dead?"
Bianca looked at the teachers, and said, "I should be."
Then she disappeared.
The water started to go down, and one clay man, the leader, was left standing. It jumped onto the stairs, and then it jumped towards a girl in my class. I jumped towards the monster without thinking, and I intercepted the attack. The monster fought me, but I was tired from my previous battles. It got me in the chest and right before it dealt the final blow, I saw a golden spear run through the monster.
"What the…?" I asked.
I felt like I was dying. The girl I helped came over, and knelt down next to me.
"Thank you, Billy… Oh no! Someone call 911, Billy's been hurt!" she said.
Then I blacked out.
When I woke up, I was in an unfamiliar place.
"Wh-Where am I," I said groggily.
My insides felt like they had been cut open and then deep fried. No one appeared to be in the room, so I decided to try to get up.
"The hero awakens," someone said.
