Long chapter...well..not that long,XD Longer than the other two, I promise. Sorry for Deidara's ooc-ness in this chapter, and the rant is a little awkward sounding, but I needed his angsty argument,XP
Oh, and Naruto's pov! Enjoy-and...maybe...drop a review? :3 I'll do a specialized oneshot (based on requests) for the first 3 reviewers!
Ch.3
It was late when dad got home, no surprise there. Ever since he started this deal with the Uchiha company, he's been out every day, all day. He rarely comes home before 10 pm, even though I know he hates staying out anywhere past 7 pm. There were even a few night this week when he didn't come home. The worst part is, he thinks Deidara and I don't notice. He honestly believe his own two sons don't even see it. He thinks we don't notice when our upbeat, hyperactive father doesn't come home. When our semi-strict, naggy father doesn't yell at me for leaving my crap all over the house, or when he doesn't tell Deidara to clean his clay up when he gets it all over the kitchen. When our used to be lonely, used to be desperate mess of a father no longer has that dead look in his eyes; Oh, we definitely noticed.
It's impossible not to notice when someone who used to be full of life and energy, shrivels and dies, withering away in a matter of days. I don't understand how someone can do the complete opposite and have actual life fill their eyes, smile so brightly, so hugely, and in doing so having it actually reach their eyes, having it actually be real, in just a matter of a few short weeks.
I just want to know what the heck is going on with him. I mean… I know it can't be called cheating, moms been dead for 14 years…I just…I don't want to find dad bringing a woman in, and just jumping ahead of himself and telling Deidara and I that we're going to have a new mom. I don't want him to be alone, I just…I never thought that he'd ever find a new someone. I'm not saying that I won't try to be happy if this new woman makes him happy, but I certainly won't like it.
I jumped a little, hearing dad's loud voice yell up the stairway.
"Dei, can you come here?" I chuckled when I heard the loud groan, and a few loud stomps as Deidara came downstairs into the living room. His blond hair was up in a messy ponytail, and their was clay all over his baby blue boxers. And his bare chest.
"What the…what were you doing?" My dads face contorted, confusion etching onto his features.
"I was making art, un."
I laughed, trying not to be too loud, I knew he'd smack me if he heard me.
"What, un? A man can't make art naked?" Dad just chuckled lightly, the sound was strangely relaxing to me, and by the way Deidara's shoulders slumped, I'd be willing to say it was for him too.
"I want you guys to listen up. This Friday, there's a really important closure going on, with the Uchiha company. Fugaku Uchiha's family will be there, and I want you two to go as well." I whined, slumping back against the couch,, while Deidara just stared at him blankly. Any one else would've said he just looked dead, but the few people who knew him well, could see his left eye start to twitch, and his hands clench.
"Now, look. It's not all bad. We'll be going to a dinner afterwards, and I'm sure you'll get along with his sons well. They're both about you're age. Naruto, I don't know if you know him, but Sasuke goes to your school." I immediately shot up, accidentally ramming my head on the small endtable.
"What? Are you crazy? I'm not going anywhere near that stuck up bast-"I groaned, twisting roughly as dads arm came around my neck in a hard head lock.
"You'll get along with the kid. And you'll watch your language." I groaned, trying in vein to get out of the vicious grip. "I want both of you to be on your best behavior. These people are important, and if this man isn't impressed, it could affect our deal."
"Alright, un. You want us to be friendly? What's in it for us, un? You leave, every day, at nine in the morning. You don't get home until past eight. And recently, un, you even skipped coming home at all. What the hell d you think you're doing? You think you're sly, dad? No, I've fucking noticed. You leave all day, un, and you never even say hello when you come home. If your at work, fine, un. Whatever. But your seeing someone. You made that much clear, un. I don't wanna know who. If we get the chance to meet this bitch, un, that's fan-fucking-tastic,Dad. I don't give a damn who you're seeing, un, but if you're fucking a random slut in between meetings, dad, I'll beat moms memory back into your dumb fucking head, un." Deidara's voice stayed calm, deep, and remained smooth and clear the whole time, though his eyes deepened, and his cheeks flushed a little as he tried to labor his breathing and control himself. As he finished speaking, he turned, stomping back up the stairs, slamming his door.
I sighed, getting up before Dad could speak again.
Deidara always brings up things like how mom used to 'beat some sense' into Dad, and other things that just bring Mom back into the conversation. I never knew our mother, she died while giving birth to me, but the way Deidara said that made it a low blow, even to me.
