This is just a short chapter.

"So Penny if you don't mind me asking how did your husband die?" Jax asked "Wendy's letter said it was a DUI accident but Juice looked some stuff up and it says they were gunned down and robbed"

"Yeah I guess it was sort of both a drunk driver hit them but I guess they had been followed because right on the street, in front of a fuck ton of people, some guys got out of a black suv and killed all of them including the drunk driver, who was in no way connected to the family, one of the guys took anything worth anything." Jax looked up and nodded. " cops didn't give a shit another mobster off the street and all... my dad found out who called the hit and it was taken care of." Penny shrugged and then said exactly what she had been thinking when she was told what happened " I know it sounds like a bad scene in a horrible movie"

"I'm sorry Penny, shit I can't imagine something like that happening to someone I loved" Jax says pulling me into a warm hug.

"Thanks Jax, I mean it. You know Wendy she helped me through it and when she was wondering if she was going to live or die I knew that I would have done anything for her and for Abel" I looked at Jax and saw him nodding. "I loved her she was family and family it's everything"

"I get ya' but I was so fucking stupid and still stuck on Tara that I wouldn't have cared who it was I would have fucked up, I just... the Wendy I knew was completely different than the Wendy you knew and loved and her and me we were toxic"

"I understand that Jackson I do but well just like you see the best and good in your mom, I saw it in Wendy she was my sister in all ways that matter and well she saved me too."

"I get it but I guess we won't ever agree or forget the Wendy we knew." Jax said wanting to end the conversation on his ex wife. "So I saw movers cleaning out some of your shit?" Penny nodded but didn't elaborate as to why she had more shit coming in.

"My lawyer called and spoke to me about the custody case and it was your mother he is going to speak to the judge to try and get it dismissed but we may have to go to court" Penny told Jax not letting him know that he would either have to go to the judge himself or get his dumbass mom to stop fucking around.

"Yeah ma is going in later today and is going to pull her head out of her ass. Clay is pissed and Ma well she would do just about anything to keep him happy"

"Well I have something else to tell you, well to ask you" Jax looked at me "umm I have to head back to New York and Abel really wants you to come with us"

" I have to see what the club has planned and see if I can get away"

"Okay, well let me know and I can get your sleeping arrangements situated."
