Cheyenne, Kyra and Jake were at the kitchen table.

"Mom and dad have been married twenty-five years. We need to do something big." Cheyenne stated.

"What if they don't want big Cheyenne?" Kyra asked. "Shouldn't we let them choose?" Cheyenne stared at her little sister.

"You have no imagination Kyra. If we left it up to mom and dad they wouldn't do anything."

"Can I say something?" Jake asked. Kyra and Cheyenne turned and looked at him.

"What do you want to say Jake?" Kyra asked.

"I think you're right. Maybe it shouldn't be a surprised. We should ask mom what she wants." Cheyenne sighed.

"I want a surprise party and it will be a surprise." Cheyenne exclaimed before she stood up and walked off. Kyra looked at Jake.

"We better prepare for the worst." Kyra stated. "Their anniversary is in two weeks." Jake nodded.

"I remember." Jake said. "You're right." There was nothing saying that Kyra didn't want to do something nice for her parents; but she didn't want something that they weren't going to want. She had to stop Cheyenne from going overboard. She and Jake would have to do all they could to get something better. She knew her mom and dad; they weren't the big party kind of people. Her mom would want something simple and her dad wouldn't care.

"Cheyenne." Kyra said as she walked down the stairs the next day. Cheyenne was on the phone and waved Kyra off. "Come on, we need to talk." Cheyenne turned away from her and finished the call. When Cheyenne turned around her arms were crossed and she glared at Kyra.

"What?" Cheyenne asked rudely. Kyra scoffed.

"I've decided that maybe some of your ideas won't be too bad. You're leaving soon because you're moving out. I'm going into the Air Corps. All they'll have is Jake." Kyra said and Cheyenne looked at her.

"What are you saying?"

"I just want the last thing I do for them to be something they'll remember." Kyra said softly. Cheyenne wasn't sure what to say to that.

"You aren't going to die, Kyra." Cheyenne responded. Kyra nodded.

"We don't know about that Cheyenne. I'm doing this for our country. I want to give back for the protection I've received the last eighteen years." Cheyenne nodded.

"I understand," Cheyenne paused, "but that doesn't mean that you're going to die." Kyra swallowed.

"Just show me the plans you have for the party." Cheyenne smiled.

"Well, I just got off the phone with an old friend of mom's and she's coming in. I've talked to a few people in dad's office. That guy across the hall is coming."

"EUGENE. You invited that dentist in dad's building?! That guy is so boring!"

"But at least he's a person; and he's bringing a date." Cheyenne responded.

"Great, so it's a couple's party; so none of us will be there." Kyra stated. Cheyenne stared down at her sister.

"No, he's bringing a date so he doesn't bug dad the whole time he's here." Cheyenne replied. "They tend to get on each other's nerves."

"Then why did you invite him?" Kyra asked.

"Because we need people." Cheyenne responded. Kyra walked over to her sister.

"Cheyenne, mom would be happy if it was just the five of us." Cheyenne nodded as Kyra spoke.

"I know that, but we just want to do something special." Kyra nodded.

"What did Lori Ann have to say?" Kyra questioned. Cheyenne looked at her.

"She'll be coming in for the party soon."

"Mom will be happy. She hasn't seen Lori Ann in four years." Cheyenne smiled and nodded. She twirled around.

"Aren't I brilliant?" Kyra shook her head.

Two weeks later

Reba was making her bed that afternoon when Brock walked in.

"I think something's going on." Brock said. Reba looked up at him.

"What's up Brock?" Reba questioned.

"Cheyenne has been downstairs cleaning all morning." Brock paused. "She never cleans the house. So I think something's up."

"Do you realize what today is?" Reba asked.

"Yeah, it's our anniversary; but I don't think Cheyenne would know that." Brock stated.

"Maybe she does. That's why she's been cleaning all day." Reba smiled. Brock shook his head.

"I don't think so." He paused. "But I won't fight with you about it. I think she's done something wrong." Brock looked at her. "Do you think she's dropped out of law school?" Reba laughed.

"She wants to be a lawyer too much to quit school. I'm sure it's nothing and you are just overreacting as usual."

"I don't overreact." Brock replied and Reba chuckled. She would have a talk with Cheyenne later.

Later on, after Brock had gone back to the office for a few minutes, Cheyenne came up the stairs with a garment bag.

"Hey mom, come look at this." She called from her bedroom.

"What's up Cheyenne?" Reba asked. She walked into the bedroom and saw her daughter taking a dress out of the bag. "What is this?" Cheyenne turned around smiling.

"This is your dress for tonight." Reba crossed her arms.

"Tonight?" Cheyenne nodded, obviously disappointed.

"Yeah, it's your anniversary. This is the dress for your dinner tonight." Reba nodded and smiled.

"Alright; it's beautiful Cheyenne." Cheyenne beamed.

"Thank you. I picked it out for you." She replied. The dress was royal blue with spaghetti straps; it tapered in and came down almost to the floor. "It should touch the top of your shoes." Cheyenne stated as she watched Reba looking at it. "Try it on." Reba took the hanger that Cheyenne was holding out for her and she went into her bedroom. She laid the dress on the bed and smiled. It was an amazing dress. She couldn't believe she and Brock had been married twenty-five years. That could be why Cheyenne was cleaning; she knew about the dinner and wanted her mom to be able to go.

"Thank you." Reba thought as she put on the dress. The silk material felt cool against her skin, but she couldn't help but smile as she watched it swoosh as she turned around in front of the mirror. After a minute or two she took it off and walked back into Cheyenne's bedroom. "I love it Cheyenne. It's absolutely gorgeous."

"I thought it was. I know you will be able to wear it for your dinner tonight."

"Dinner? What dinner?" Reba questioned. Cheyenne smiled again.

"Kyra, Jake and I have reserved a table for you at the new French restaurant. We want you to have a wonderful meal." Reba nodded.

"Well thank you." Cheyenne smiled.

"You're welcome. I know you and dad will have a great time." Reba smiled this time. She knew that she and Brock would have a good time. They had been married twenty-five years and had ups and downs, but they did love each other.

"They're here!" Jake hollered out as he looked through the window at the front of the house. The living room of the Hart's home was filled with the family and friends of Reba and Brock.

"Thank you so much for inviting us." The blonde date of Eugene Fisher said as she walked past Cheyenne into her hiding place. Jake turned off the light and jumped for his place next to the stairs. They made sure the door was locked, but they left the outside light on for Reba and Brock.

"It sure is quiet." Reba said. "I wonder if the kids are still here."

"They are probably out with friends; they paid for this dinner and everything." Brock replied. Inside the house, they heard the key turning in the lock. The door popped but they didn't walk in; it was quiet. Jake wanted to get out of his place, but knew he shouldn't. After a minute they heard Reba take a breath and laugh.

"Brock, at least wait until you get in the house." Brock picked up Reba and carried her through the doorway. He turned on the light with his shoulder and was met with a loud sound.

"SURPRISE!" Everybody hollered. Brock put Reba down on the floor when Cheyenne and Kyra walked over.

"Happy Anniversary." They said in unison.

"Well thank you girls." Reba said looking around. She saw a room full of people; her parents were there, Brock's mom, associates of Brock's. That's when she scanned the room and saw the one person she hadn't seen in years. "Lori Ann!" Reba exclaimed and ran over and hugged her.

"Reba! It's so good to see you." Lori Ann said. "You wouldn't believe who I have with me."

"Who?" Reba asked and then a gentleman Reba recognized walked past. "Parker? Parker Reynolds? There's no way you two are together." Lori Ann shook her head.

"Just for the party. Cheyenne told me that bringing somebody was okay." Lori Ann replied.

"Congratulations Reba." He looked at her and smiled. "I'm happy for you and Brock." Parker nodded, but Reba could sense his tension. Reba and Parker dated in college; she left him for Brock and so Parker was being gracious to attend this party.

"Thank you Parker." Reba hugged him and Lori Ann before she went to attend to her other guests. Reba walked over to Brock who was standing next to Eugene Fisher and his date, Barbara Jean Booker. Brock smiled as Reba walked over and put her arm through his. He leaned his head against hers.

"Eugene, you know my wife." He looked to Barbara Jean. "Barbara Jean, this is my wife, Reba Hart." Barbara Jean shook her hand.

"Like I was telling Brock earlier, I'm so glad to be here. It's so sweet what your children have done for you. I hope when I have children that they will be as sweet as yours." Brock smiled.

"You'll have plenty of time for that." Brock nodded. He looked to Reba. "Barbara Jean is twenty-seven and looking to work for Eugene." Reba smiled. (A/N: Barbara Jean's age comes from what she SHOULD have been; not what she was in Season 6 which would have been 35)

"Enjoy yourselves." Reba smiled as she looked around. She pulled her arm out of Brock's, touched his arm with her hand. "I love you." Brock kissed her and she walked away. A few feet away, Cheyenne walked past Lori Ann.

"You did a great job with this party Cheyenne." Lori Ann said. Cheyenne smiled.

"I wouldn't have been able to do it without you. You've done a lot to help us." She nodded. They stood and watched Reba walk around the living room talking to her parents. The dress looked beautiful against her skin. Reba had curled her red hair and pinned up some of the hair on the sides. She looked absolutely gorgeous. Cheyenne smiled. It was good to see her parents back together and happy. It had been twenty-five years and Cheyenne hoped that they'd be together for at least another twenty-five.
