Hey everyone! Well I apologize every time I update but once again I am sorry for the delay. I had to take a few summer classes to up my credits a little. Anyway once again I am sorry. This story took me a while to write because I wasn't quite sure how I wanted the action sequences to go. In the end I decided to split this into two chapters tops. Since this is my first time writing action sequences I would like any positive critiques or reviews that could help me in the next chapter. Plus I love I mean absolutely love to read reviews so they are beyond welcome. This chapter doesn't have any romantic moments in it at all and you will see why later. However it does have quite a bit of action, I know it isn't much but I promise next chapter will be more action packed. I am happy that I haven't run into this problem yet but this is a IkkixSimca fanfic so if you don't like the pairing please don't read it. Thanks everyone! Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Bleach. :(
Chapter 7
Ikki looked back towards the building where he left Simca half expecting to see her jumping off of it and speeding towards them. Instead he couldn't see her at all. He felt a mixture of relief and worry. Well I guess she's safe… No she has to be safe. Ikki turned back around to face the creepy smiling man and shook his head free of anything besides the battle.
"Alright let's get this done." He reached out his hand and Kazu handed him his jacket. He turned his back to the man and slid it on. "Get used to seeing this emblem because…" He paused and looked back at the man. "I will not lose." He smirked and walked forward. "Follow me to the starting point." Then he turned back around and raised an eyebrow. "Hey what's your name anyway?"
The man walked next to him and as he was passing by said, "Akihito Kamiya".
Simca didn't need to hear his name because she already knew it was him but for some reason hearing it made her heart stop. She gripped her chest and tried to steady her breathing. Oh god Crow please win. She risked being caught to catch a glimpse of Ikki and turned back around to stare up at the night sky.
Ikki jumped into the air and the rest followed. He stopped when they reached the starting point and turned back around to face the teams. "Alright! So we already went over the rules so when Kururu fires the gun we start." He turned around and waved at Kururu and she cheerfully waved back with the hand she was using to hold the gun. Everyone ducked their heads and dropped to the floor.
"Ah! Kururu! Don't wave it around!" Ikki yelled as he lay flat on the ground covering his head.
Kururu looked up at her hand and noticed the gun and laughed. "Oh! My bad!"
Everyone slowly stood back up.
"Ikki are you sure about letting her handle the gun?" Kazu looked over at Kururu and then back at Ikki with a grimace.
Ikki shrugged and nodded. "Yeah why not?" Kazu shook his head but filled back into the line with the rest of Kogarasumaru. "Alright Kururu on three!" Kururu nodded and readied the gun.
Everyone waited expectantly and fidgeted with anticipation. The seconds felt like hours and the tension in the air was high. Everything seemed to stand still. The crowds were hushed and the streets were bare. Ikki tilted his head back to the sky. Let's go.
Kururu put her hand up to her mouth to amplify the sound of her voice. "Alright. Here we go!"
Everyone leaned forward and waited.
"Three… two…"
Ikki looked back down and stared ahead of him and smirked. Fly.
"Go!"
Everyone took off at once and the crowd screamed in their excitement.
Ikki pulled back and stopped where Kazu was sailing next to him. "You know what formation we are going to do right!?" Kazu nodded and Ikki smiled. The other team pulled ahead slightly and Ikki and his team sped up. The course that Ikki had come up with was no straight shot; and that was exactly how he liked it. They neared the first building which happened to be a parking garage which for some reason despite the time of night was packed almost completely.
The idea was to ride inside of it until they reached the top where then they would move onto the next obstacle. Everyone dropped down and entered the garage.
Ikki had wanted to use this spot as part of a battle for a while but he hadn't gotten the chance to utilize it after what happened with Sora. He reminisced over his first AT battle. That was really the only time he had run this kind of race with a team. His sisters were there to help him last time though. Now he was on his own, fighting for more than just a stolen emblem from sleeping forest. This time not only was his reputation on the line, but so was his teams, and Simca's possible freedom. He was still confused as to why he wanted to see her anyway, but at this time it didn't matter. Focus on the battle. Ikki looked ahead at everyone's positions and mapped a quick route and game plan for his team to execute.
Ikki pulled ahead to the front of his team and nodded at Kazu. As they raced through the first level of the ginormous parking garage Kazu, Onigiri, Bucha, and Agito sped up directly behind Ikki in a diamond formation. Onigiri was at the very back of the formation and Bucha was in the middle with Kazu and Agito on each side of him. Ikki stayed at the front. Ikki raised his hand and gave a thumbs up which signaled for Onigiri to start spinning around his team like a spinning top, throwing his opponents every which and way. Bucha reached out and grabbed Kazu and Agito into his massive arms. Kazu and Agito both grabbed Ikki and Bucha held them suspended in the air.
Akihito, who was currently ahead of everyone, looked back in obvious confusion. He waved his hand and his people circled around Ikki's group as he sped off. Onigiri widened his spin by just a little, creating a force field of sorts and Bucha leaned back and threw his comrades into the air. Akihito's team watched in awe as they sailed so close to the top of the garage's ceiling. While in the air Kazu ignited his flames and shot through the air with incredible speed. When he realized that they were beginning to slow down he sped up once more and released Agito and Ikki. They soared through the air just barely missing the top of the garage, then Ikki positioned himself on Agito's regalia. When they had begun to descend Agito spun around and kicked outwards with his fang regalia creating a wave of air which Ikki jumped on. As he passed over all of Akihito's team. He descended right ahead of Akihito turned back and saluted him. He smirked and sped up with all of his might but Akihito stayed right on his heels.
Ikki raced ahead but decided to hang back just a little. He didn't want to overexert himself and lose mainly because of his cockiness; instead he stayed just a little ways ahead of Akihito, careful not to completely leave his back unguarded. His backup was a ways away so if he was attacked they wouldn't be of much help. He was also curious about this new character. He knew nothing about him at all except that his name was Akihito Kamiya and that he had some weird kind of obsession over Simca. As to why he had an obsession over her he did not know but he did notice that after he showed his face Simca disappeared. He became slightly annoyed that he may have shared history with Simca but his curious mind did not only think of his motives but of his moves. So far Akihito had done nothing extremely extraordinary or anything slightly different than gliding in a straight line. He was curious of what he was planning and what he would do next.
"Hey! Your name is Ikki right?"
Ikki was wrenched from his thoughts and brought back to reality; he tilted his head then nodded. "Yeah, it is. What do you want? Trying to confuse me won't work. I am a genius you know." Ikki stated while puffing out his chest and sticking his nose in the air. "I am also what some would call a legend around here so I'm not a rookie either." He watched Akihito carefully while still keeping an eye out for any unexpected visitors.
Akihito smirked and rode a little closer to Ikki. "I won't have to do any of that…trust me."
Ikki pulled farther ahead, keeping enough distance between them to give him time to react to anything.
"You said something about inside battles earlier right? Or did I hear you wrong?" His eyes were locked on Ikki, paying just as much attention as Ikki was: watching, waiting, and planning. Though, his scrutiny didn't seem to faze Ikki, instead it intrigued him.
"Yeah, I said that."
"Well what would you say to having one?"
They rounded another corner and Ikki noted that they passed the fifth floor mark. He raised his eyebrow and tried to think up a quick strategy. "I wouldn't be against it."
"Well…" Akihito continued. "Are there rules for what type of battle we can have?"
"Well a popularity contest just wouldn't be fair to you."
Akihito threw his head back in a bout of laughter.
"A trick contest wouldn't make much sense, seeing as though no one is here to judge us, so…the only other contest we could have would be a literal battle." Ikki looked back and scanned the expression on Akihito's face. The smirk had indeed grown just like he thought it would. He obviously has something planned so I have to stay sharp. "Is that alright with you?" Ikki already knew the answer but decided to ask anyway as more of a courtesy than anything else.
Akihito's eyes seemed to shimmer with excitement. "Yeah that sounds great."
Ikki took in another sign 'sixth floor'; they were close to the top.
"We will have the same rules that we have overall but lets' add some additional rules."
Akihito clenched his jaw, obviously irritated by the delay over a few extra rules but he hesitantly nodded.
"First new rule!" Ikki held up his pointer finger and turned around completely to face Akihito.
Akihito was amused by Ikki's amount of confidence and was actually surprised to see him dodging and swerving around the parked and moving cars as if he were staring straight ahead. This will be interesting. He thought to himself as the boy in front of him continued to talk.
"No one can interfere, not that I think anyone can catch up to us besides my buddy Kazu."
Akihito interrupted Ikki's explanation. "If you believe that one of your friends really can catch up to us then why would you say no interference?" Akihito raised his eyebrow and studied Ikki.
Ikki shrugged his shoulders. "If this is an inside battle and we are the only ones here who know the rules than anyone else joining will have to be filled in, and I think that, that is unnecessarily time consuming."
Akihito nodded agreeing to his reasoning.
"Plus…" Ikki added "I really want to battle you one on one." It was Ikki's turn to smirk. He didn't understand why he felt off near Akihito but Ikki was one to follow his gut no questions asked, and at this moment his gut was telling him that he was dangerous. To whom he was dangerous too was something Ikki was trying to find out.
Akihito flinched slightly surprised and caught off guard by the sudden character change but he quickly recovered and his smirk spread across his face until he was doing a full on smile.
"Second rule…!" Ikki continued slightly off put by Akihito's amused stare. "No weapons." He hadn't originally stated that in the overall rules but it was a given in most AT battles that when certain rules were put in place, other rules went with them, but in an inside battle it would have to be stated.
Akihito nodded again and Ikki continued.
"Third rule: Any and all tricks and moves can be used. AT's are the only weapons in this fight. Ikki reiterated. "Fourth rule: No below the belt attacks."
Akihito shuddered but nodded.
"Last rule:" Ikki eyed Akihito, his face completely hardened and set. "No one dies today you got me." Before he would have never thought to make that a rule because he never would have imagined someone using their AT's to kill, but since Spitfire he had to make doubly sure that, that was understood.
Something flickered across Akihito's face but it was too fast for Ikki to discern so he let it go. Akihito waited a moment but finally nodded.
"Then the rules are set! As soon as we reach the very top of this thing then the battle will begin."
Akihito let out an exasperated sigh. "Finally."
They rounded the last turn and both of them waited, eager and excited at the battle they had promised.
As soon as their feet left the concrete of the parking garage Akihito shot towards Ikki with incredible speed and kicked at him.
Ikki dodged it. Even though he wasn't as fast as Kazu he still had quite a bit of speed in him.
Akihito quickly recovered and spun around sending another kick slightly faster than the first in Ikki's direction. Ikki dodged it with ease. He wouldn't get anywhere close to me if I had the Sky Regalia. Ikki thought to himself. The Sky Regalia was lost at the moment and the only person who knew where it was had just seen him and talked to him before he arrived here. He had meant to ask Sora about it, not that he thought he would tell him, he just wondered if he would at least give him a very vague clue about where to find it. It was Sora's style to keep things just out of reach that a person may want to struggle against the odds for whatever it was that they would be looking for, and Sora loved to see a good struggle. Ikki glanced down at his feet. He was happy to have the ones he did though because to him they were the next best choice. He could do so much with what Kururu gave to him.
Akihito straightened himself and turned on his side. He spun around; slowly at first but the speed of his rotation quickly increased and then he aimed his body at Ikki.
Ikki countered by doing a bit of the same thing but he stayed upright and sent a spiral of air at Akihito. Akihito rammed into the tiny cyclone and his speed slowed by quite a bit. He missed Ikki again and sailed past him. Ikki wasn't worried about the man getting any kind of lead on him though because he knew that he was more interested in their battle than the overall battle. Ultimately both he and Akihito knew that what they were fighting for was more than just their team's reputation. One had what the other wanted but the other wasn't too keen on giving it up.
Ikki could tell by Akihito's movements that he wasn't putting much force or energy into his attacks just as Ikki dodge half heartedly. They were sizing each other up, gauging each other's skill and attributes.
Akihito used a nearby building to catapult off of, and came back for Ikki, this time Ikki barely dodged the attack.
He is getting serious now. Ikki mentally switched gears from anticipate and dodge to dodge and attack. Although, even though Ikki was changing his battle plan a little early he already realized that he wasn't as headstrong as he used to be, he rarely attacked first. It was difficult to come up with a strategy when you weren't even sure how your opponents would react but he still needed to know how fast Akihito was. For now I'll use only long range attacks…fast long range attacks. If he comes closer then I will use short range obviously but until I learn his movements I will try to keep at a distance.
In this kind of a battle incapacitating your opponent was allowed so Ikki had to make sure that he didn't get hit. I don't even know how hard he can hit.
Ikki sent small kicks through the air that created small boxing glove sized air pockets. Akihito dodged a few but three hit him dead on. If Ikki had used more force behind his attacks then he could have caused some real damage. Instead it just pushed Akihito back slightly. Ikki looked ahead; they were nearing the next point. It was an abandoned building and the plan was to enter from one of the broken windows on the top floor and exit from a fire escape on the third floor. The building was fairly large and consisted of ten floors. It was what looked like an old mansion so the rooms were spaced well and allowed freedom to move but in there he could not use a great deal of his tricks without damaging the decrepit relic. He had already planned for this though and came up with a list of moves that he could use. Maybe now I can finally use a few of my new tricks. Ikki smirked to himself, excited at the prospect of finally getting to unleash some of the new techniques that he had developed and use them in an actual battle.
He turned his head to look over at Akihito who came close behind him. Ikki turned around again and Akihito stopped his advance on him. "This is the next checkpoint!" He called out. Akihito nodded and Ikki continued. "We will enter through those windows since they are already broken." Ikki peered back over his shoulders and slid his eyes over its westernized theme.
Akihito looked at Ikki. "How will the others know where to go?"
Ikki waved away his comment and his concern. "My team knows where to go; besides I showed everyone the route before we started this."
Akihito rolled his eyes. "You didn't go into detail about where we should go. You just pointed at some of the buildings we would either have to pass or enter."
Ikki snickered and raised his head high. "I didn't have to; my team knows where to go."
Akihito looked at the boy, his agitation growing. "What if my team pulls ahead of yours?" He asked with genuine concern.
"They won't." Ikki smiled at him, his cockiness spread across his features. He took a long look at the man or boy. He wasn't quite sure what he was anymore. At first his features seemed to hold a bit of wisdom and age to his face but upon closer inspection he looked to be no more than maybe a few years older than Ikki. He probably isn't even the same age as Simca. So why do they know each other? Ikki pondered that thought. The man or boys face looked younger because of the expression he was making. His eyes seemed to roar with pride, foolish adolescent pride, the kind of pride that could get him into trouble if he wasn't careful. Ikki saw an opening in his breach of character, an opening that he could exploit. He turned back around and readied himself to slide through the absence of glass in the window.
Akihito locked on Ikki's back. Now burning with rage he used quite a bit of force and speed in one attack. Don't look down on me boy. Akihito thought as his leg connected with Ikki's back.
Ikki was sent flying forward into one of the windows that did have glass still in it. He cursed to himself as he crashed through it. He had tried to avoid breaking any glass, because if he did then people down bellow could get hurt and that could also bring another unwanted problem to their doorstep, the 'Windstorm G-Men'. Ikki tumbled into the building but flipped and skidded on his right knee and left foot using his right hand as a brace to slow him down.
Akihito crashed through the other window with glass in it. No doubt just to piss Ikki off. He had more control in his landing and he skidded to a stop a few feet from Ikki.
Ikki readied himself. He knew that if they waited much longer then their friends would show up and get caught in the fray.
Akihito watched Ikki with blazoned emerald eyes.
Ikki shuddered at the thought that they might be glowing. He stepped back slowly but Akihito took that as a challenge and lounged towards him. Ikki sped forward trying to move him forward. He had no idea how far back his friends were but he wasn't going to waste another second thinking about it.
Akihito took the bait and followed after Ikki taking his retreat as a sign of fear. He barreled down the open spaces of the mansion like building after Ikki like a wolf that had injured its prey, so excited by the possible feast in front of it that it loses sight of anything else.
Ikki noted his actions and planned a short but powerful attack. First things first he needed to get Akihito into the small stairwell that led only to the floor beneath it. Obviously whoever owned the building in the past had been quite paranoid, enough so that they would break the entrances to the different levels up so oddly. He zoomed down the long hallway and straight for the stairwell. Akihito followed closely behind and he seemed to be slightly irritated. Man, I wasn't even trying to piss him off so why is he so mad! Ikki swung around and kicked down a door in a darker portion of the hallway. "There it is!" He exclaimed joyfully but his happy moment was cut short by a foot flying past his head. "I barely dodged that."
Akihito's foot went through the wall and his leg was submerged in the whole he had just created.
Ikki glided past him on the railings and looked at the boy or man as he passed by. "You were really trying to hurt me weren't you?" He stifled a laugh. "I guess that didn't work out too well did it?" Ikki waved at the disheveled looking adolescent or adult and sped off down the stairs onto the ninth floor. He jumped when he heard the loud boom noise and decided that he should put just a little more distance between him and Akihito. I think it was around here somewhere. Ikki careened around the corner and through two doors that led to a ballroom type area. "Ah! Here it is!"
A while ago Ikki scouted this place as a place to practice control and develop some new techniques. His only competition for the space being some random teenagers that decided to bring a few girls with them to the creepy abandoned mansion like building. Ikki saw that as the perfect opportunity to scare the living crap out of people and practice control at the same time. The reason he wanted to work on control was that there were some tricks that he couldn't use in certain places because of how much damage it could cause. Plus if he worked on concentrating his moves into smaller ones then his tricks could possibly pack a bigger punch.
He used his Storm Regalia to create short bursts of controlled wind and aimed it at certain objects to fling them across the room or to close the doors behind the group. They left in no time and Ikki had his space back with an added bonus of scaring the crap out of people. It was a win; win situation that was completely one sided.
Akihito followed Ikki into the space and Ikki used the air kick technique to close the door behind him. I really need to think up a better name for that move. The only light came from cracks in heavy curtains that were draped from a few rails that were nailed to the wall. The curtains were incredibly heavy and Ikki had a hard time moving them his first time in the room. He used this room because of the space mostly but the added bonus was that except for a few streaks of light here and there it was completely pitch black. His eyes had gotten accustomed to the darkness and now he could see a lot better in it.
Akihito on the other hand couldn't see squat but that didn't matter. Akihito had trained himself a while ago to improve his hearing. All he had to do was listen for some movement and the kid would be done for.
Ikki could see his Akihito moving around and he could tell that his eyes were closed. So he has great hearing I'm guessing. Great. Kazu is better at stealth than I am. Ikki watched Akihito closely and swung his leg out creating a boxing glove sized ball of air again. Akihito dodged it and attacked in the general direction the wind had been conjured. Should I just call it 'Mini Moon Drop Missile' it is the same trick just smaller. Ikki was already out of the way before Akihito even attacked. After he did a variation of 'Moon Drop Missile' he jumped away from his perch on top of a few boxes on the stage at the back of the ballroom to the chandelier. All of the loud dangly pieces had been removed from the one the he was standing on but not the other. It wouldn't be too smart to land on something that noisy when trying to stay out of reach of an enemy who could hear just as well as he could see.
Akihito stood tense and waited for another chance to strike. Ikki used a bigger form of the 'Moon Drop Missile' with a little more force and sent about twelve little balls of air flying through the air into Akihito.
Akihito was thrown off his feet and pitched across the room into the wall with the curtains. Unfortunately for Ikki he knocked them down shattering Ikki's darkness.
Ikki immediately moved for a chance at Akihito. The sudden light caused him to stagger and Ikki found his opening.
In a split second Ikki crossed the room and punched at Akihito and it looked like a direct hit but Akihito caught his hand and threw him backwards. Ikki's back slammed up against the far wall and he slumped down. It took him a few seconds to recover but he was back up again and ready for pay back but Ikki was still managing to keep his cool despite the steely look in his eyes. He wasn't getting anywhere from attacking far away and soon their teammates would be there too. He charged at Akihito and the boy smiled.
Akihito backed up into the solid wall between the two curtains and catapulted out of Ikki's way.
Ikki did the same and glided through the air behind him. He rose up his fist and in the blink of an eye he was right in front of Akihito. Ikki did an uppercut and sent Akihito sailing into the air. In one breath Ikki was next to him and he kicked him sideways through a door back into the main hall. The two continued to rush at each other, throwing punches kicks so fast that the air started to pick up around them. Finally Ikki reached the second stairwell. He kicked the door in and jumped straight down and Akihito followed. They were on the eighth floor now and outside they could hear their teams approaching the building. They quickened their pace. Down the seventh floor and sixth floor they surged forward. Neither wanted their personal battle interrupted.
Back with the rest of the group Kazu and Agito were fighting side by side trying to take out two members from the opposing team. It was Onigiri who pointed out the western styled mansion coming in to focus. Kazu was glad that Ikki had chosen this venue for the battle. In a way the mansion was helpful to all of their skills and respective roads. Plus Kazu knew they could take out a few of the guys with Onigiri's 'Smell Road' to take out a few of the weaker guys on Akihito's team. The other ones would have to be dealt with by Buccha, Agito, Akito, and Lind. Or whichever! Agito's multiple identities were hard to keep up with. The only thing that helped Kazu know which one he was interacting with was the eye patch. If the left eye was covered then it was Agito. If the right eye was covered it was Akito and if the eye patch was taken off to reveal both eyes then it was Lind. Lind definitely seemed like a scary guy in a sense but he did have a soft spot towards his brothers which made him more likeable. Kazu still wasn't sure which of the persona's was scarier due to Agito's claim that when angered Akito could be more violent than him.
Kazu knew either of the personas could hold their own so he wasn't really worried about which one was out. He also knew that if push came to shove he could also stand alone and fight. Although he thought they were better when they fought together. Ikki as usual had to go on his own and messed up Kazu's own plan. He mentally shook the thought from his head. He knew Ikki was beyond fine on his own and that there was no need to worry about him. He stared down his blue haired teammate which caused Agito's attention to shift slightly. "What the f*** do you want?" Kazu just shook his head and pulled back so that they were only a breath apart from each other. "I think we should rely on our combinations. We are stronger together." He swept his hand out gesturing towards Buccha and Onigiri. Agito sighed but nodded.
"If we do get split up then we just have to hold our own until one of us finishes early."
Agito nodded again. "Yeah, yeah f*** I know already! God!"
Kazu ignored his irritated attitude and continued. "We'll use Onigiri's 'Smell Road' to get rid of majority of them. Only the stronger ones should be left after that."
Agito sighed and rolled his eyes. "That's great now tell THEM! It won't do any good if only two of us know the plan. F***!"
Kazu nodded unfazed by Agito's outbursts and went to Buccha and Onigiri who were holding off about five different guys. Kazu wondered why Ikki allowed them to have so many team members but decided not to dwell on it. "Buccha! Onigiri!" The two boys turned around to look at Kazu. "I got a plan!" Kazu proceeded to tell the two about his plan and finished right as they were inches away from entering the building. They jumped off of a nearby roof and saw flashing lights bellow them. Beside the regular cop cars were big black SUV's.
"F***!" Agito yelled as they prepared to enter through the windows without glass in them.
Kazu wondered why the police were there and then saw the newly broken windows. "D***." Kazu cursed under his breath. He knew Ikki was adamant about those windows with the glass still in them being untouched. Something must have happened. Out of the corner of his eye he saw two figures emerging from a third floor fire escape. He couldn't make out much else. The figures were blurred. He focused his eyes on them and saw Ikki and Akihito charging at each other repeatedly which caused sparks to fly from their AT's. Kazu call his teammates and pointed at the scene that was moving in the opposite direction.
"Go Ikki kick his a**!" Onigiri called out. The smaller figure looked up and smirked but went right back to fighting.
"We have to do the same thing guys!" Kazu yelled excitedly.
"Yeah!" The three of them cheered except for Agito who loudly cheered, "F*** yeah!".
Akihito's team watched their enthusiasm as they descended into the building.
Onigiri quickly found a suitable room for the main event and turned into the room. The other team followed. Kogarasumaru had the advantage. They knew where they were going but the other team did not so they could take them wherever they wanted them to go. Agito closed the door and Buccha and Kazu locked it from the safety of the outside. A few seconds later they heard terrible groans and gasps for air. They ripped the door open and Onigiri flew out of the door saying that the others were coming.
Kazu and Agito stepped outside. The remaining members of Akihito's team stumble out of the foul smelling room. Agito readies himself. "Kazu I think we should use 'Grand Fang Firebird'."
Kazu studies the look on Agito's face. He had seen it before. Agito was a perfect strategist in combat and right now he had just surveyed his options and found the quickest route to eliminating his opponents.
"It may not take all of them down but we can still dwindle down the numbers."
Kazu watched him a little longer.
Agito aggravated by Kazu's constant staring snapped at him again. "F*** is anybody in there? We have to do this now."
Kazu merely nodded and Agito pulled his leg back.
"Now!" Agito yelled as the other team started to regain their senses.
Agito kicked at the air and the fang sprang forth next Kazu ignited it and it went careening towards the unsuspecting team.
Buccha and Onigiri went ahead as instructed to take care of the few team members that followed behind Ikki and Akihito past them earlier.
Agito scanned through the smoke and raised dust to see if anyone was still conscious. A chain flew in front of Agito just barely missing his forehead as he turned his body to the side to avoid the possible injury. At least two of them are still conscious and they happen to be quite smart seeing as though I was their first target, the strongest and most efficient in battle in our team.
The chain whipped out of the smoke and towards Agito again. Agito started to grab the chain but decided against it.
Why do they have weapons? Agito thought to himself. He scanned his memory and realized that Ikki hadn't stated that in the rules previously. That dumb f***! Agito clenched his fists. These guys were in America for at least three years. They wouldn't know about the added rules. Those only count here! Agito grunted his frustrations and kicked in the air. That dumb a** f*****! The chain flew past his head and another went straight for his foot along the floor. Agito jumped into the air and turned sideways missing both chains. Beside him Kazu was busy dodging pieces of wood flying past him. A loud crunch noise was heard and then a piece of wood rocketed past Kazu.
Agito was happy that he was working with Kazu. Even though the boy didn't seem to have natural talent he worked hard and was now on par with Ikki. The only thing against Kazu was that even though he was on par with Ikki in mastery level, Ikki had mastered several different things while Kazu only had one thing mastered. In a way that was a good thing though because Kazu had so much time to keep perfecting that one skill to make up for the others skills that he lacked.
Agito looked towards Kazu and he nodded. Kazu did the same and they charged through the smoke.
Ikki jumped from building to building blocking Akihito's attacks and getting some hits in. The longer the fight dragged on the harder Akihito fought. Akihito's fighting spirit had Ikki in edge. He didn't like the possible reasoning for Akihito fighting as hard as he was. Ikki wanted to win even more now. He and Akihito sailed towards the next stage, the junk yard.
This could either result in a win or in a loss. Ikki thought to himself as they neared the junkyard.

A big thanks to all the new readers for reading my story and I hope that you'll enjoy this fic!
