Chasing Her Chapter 4

Collision

Important A/N [PLEASE READ]

I'm so, so sorry.

Hey everyone, I haven't posted in almost a year? I know I can't even believe it myself but I really don't want to discontinue this but I need help, in case you hadn't noticed I tend to jump into things without really thinking of a plot, my newest Inuyasha fic "Just Play along" actually has a plot and I know where it's going, but my laptop got wiped and I lost all my plans, but I still know where I am going.

This story happens to be the prequel for High School Hell, which is being revised, renamed, rewritten basically re-everything'd and given a completely new look, due to the plot of this story. So I have no idea where this story is going and what I want to do with it since I had no foresight to plan it, but I'll just have to deal with it so this is how I ended up typing this chapter for you in the makeshift freezer room with semi-numb fingers on the 2nd Christmas Day (Simply Boxing Day or Black Friday no2 for others) even though I could have been watching the first episode of Castle season 4 to find out what happened to Beckett after she got shot and Castle confessed to her.

So I need your help, and support to get through this story, give me your ideas, aspirations anything, even if they seem stupid to you, they're important to me.

Please,Please, Please, do this for me.

All my love,

A.B

P.S – Sorry if last names are changed but I apparently haven't updated in a year.

Now, ON TO THE CHAPTER!

Katara was confused. Katara, honour roll, golden girl student Katara was confused. Aang's disappearances as of late, were now more expected than shocking, but she just couldn't figure it out. She knew he was a monk, yes and he liked to visit quiet places connected to nature to meditate, As well as go to track meets. But he usually did his meditation 7 o'clock and track 4 o'clock on week days and track 1 and meditation 3 o'clock on weekends, and left half an hour earlier so he could get there on the dot.

So why recently, in middle of school days? Receiving mysterious phone calls? Shutting himself in his room? Coming home late and drowsy or sometimes not even coming home at all? She shut her laptop. His attendance had been dropping, his behaviour was strange and to top it all off he was coming and going at the most peculiar times in the day and the ungodly hours of the night. Could it be-? Katara held her thought! NO! It couldn't be, it mustn't be.

Still as confused as ever, Katara, honour roll, golden girl student and still confused Katara, put on her periwinkle jacket and matching white fingerless gloves (which were cute but really didn't do much for cold) as she stepped out of her home into the cold November air, her mahogany hair whipping her in the face, eyes, mouth. Blinding her, suffocating her and making her curse this damned wind. Ugh!

Katara closed her jacket even more pulling, them further into her sides and lowering her head to keep her face from turning into a mini little south pole with snow and everything.

Occupied with keeping herself warm, Katara failed to notice she was in somebody else's way.

They were destined to collide.

The impact had them both sprawled on the floor with matching bumps, and Katara who had received less of the hit than the unknown stranger had, picked herself up off the ground sooner than he.

"Oh Tui, I'm so sorry" Katara rambled rapidly apologising. "I wasn't even looking where I was going, even though I really should have been and-" She carried on until she realised he was still on the floor rubbing his head and in what seemed to be agony. "Oh sorry I'm not even helping am I?" She said as she leaned over to him in order to help him up.

As he looked up Katara lost herself in the void of his chrome coloured eyes, so many emotions all at once, this boy, man even

"Are you done staring yet?" He asked testily, wary of the talkative stranger who had knocked him over. Damn she was strong, talk about super strength.

"Staring? Oh spirits, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to I- but it's just you have the most beautiful eyes. I'm sorry. Ugh, I'm such a weirdo." Katara carried on again trailing off at the end a bit.

"Well that's the most unusual reason, I've heard for someone staring at my scar yet." The boy said gruffly, magenta staining his face. Did she really think he had beautiful eyes? Hm, no one had ever said that to him before. His sister all the time, but never him.

"Scar?" She located it and turned around swiftly. A little angry at his assumption, he didn't know her, so how dare he think of her as superficial enough to pick out his imperfections when she had just met him. "I wasn't staring at it, and you had no right to assume I was, like I said you have beautiful eyes take my compliment or leave it" Katara said to him still facing the other direction.

Shocked. The male gave a half-hearted "Whatever" and stalked off, surprised at the fire this girl's cobalt eyes held. They reminded him of the ocean, but wasn't the ocean supposed to be cool and calm? This girl so was not that.

Turning back around because that was the way she was going in the first place, Katara stormed off dramatically, until she tripped over something. Again.

This time though, it was a small rectangular notebook.

Zuko Kasai

History G5

Mrs. Udinsky

The poor guy had Mrs. Udinsky? Wow she sucked. Wait, Udinsky? That meant this guy, Zuko even went her school? How come she never noticed him before? Well the school had been receiving a lot of transfers lately. November this year sure was a popular time to transfer. He- Zuko, looked older, Sokka's age maybe. So he had to be a senior then, probably. But Katara didn't think she was wrong I mean she was; Katara, honour roll, golden girl student for a reason right?

So this Zuko, he was probably looking for it, and he was maybe a procrastinator who had homework due for tomorrow so if she gave it back to him at school he might get in trouble, so she had to find his address right?

Katara turn back around. Gee she was doing a lot of turning these days. Heading home was nice, since even Agni would freeze in this weather. She pulled her hood up as it was starting to drizzle, the wind never relenting. She made a mental note to herself that she would have to stop at Primark to get new gloves and buy a parka from asos.

As Katara opened the door she wasgreeted by a shirtless Aang rough housing with some black haired bimbo. She checked the time 4:00, it was Saturday today, and usually on a Saturday Aang wouldn't be back yet, not even for some girl.

"OKAY! OKAY! Toph I give up! You are ultimate martial artist supreme! But my fighting style is so not sissy" Aang said on the ground laughing even though he shouldn't be since Toph had him in this super dangerous choke-hold which would have killed an average person.

"Whatever, I still beat you" The girl presumably Toph laughed at him. Hm a bit mean, well I don't think Aang would go for a girl like her anyway.

"Hi guys" Katara smiled at them.

"Oh hey Kat." Aang smiled back, blushing as he noticed his and Toph's semi- compromising position and his lack of shirt.

"Hi." Toph said. "This sparring session is over, I'm leaving. See ya round hot pants" Toph grinned at Aang giving him a lazy wave.

"Toph" Aang whined embarrassed at his new nickname, as well as how he received it.

"Nice to meet you, uh, Toph" Katara said giving her fake smile, which made Toph frown a little, she wasn't stupid. No, Toph was not stupid at all.

Katara hastily shut the door behind Toph. Convincing herself it was because she was 'trying not to let the cold in'.

"So Aang… Hot Pants?" Katara asked pretending to be amused.

"Toph saw me at my track meet and wouldn't stop teasing me about it, I have a bunch of nicknames now." Aang smiled sheepishly

"Do you want me to talk to her for you?" Katara asked concerned.

"What? No" Aang laughed "I'm alright Toph is my friend, that's just how she is" Aang continued as he started making his way up the stairs shirt in hand.

"How do you know? You've only known her for a short while, she could be getting a sick kick out of this" Katara objected, miffed that Aang wouldn't just leave this girl alone. She seemed rude and sort of unfriendly from what she'd observed at school, and Katara certainly didn't want another Meng around.

"Yeah, but I feel like I know her from somewhere, like I've known her for ages." Aang replied, disappearing into the shadowy upstairs corridor.

Aang shut the door to his room. That Toph, she really was something, making fun of his track shorts like that, he should know, she'd been teasing him all day. He smiled and shut his curtains, as he got into his bed. He had been tired as of late.

She really is something he thought again, smiling, as he drifted into a dreamless sleep.

Earlier the same day

Aang checked the time as he woke. 10:57AM, that left him enough time to shower, eat; go for a quick run maybe even meditate a bit before his meet.

Aang dried his hair, and grabbed an apple and his water bottle whilst hastily packing his lunch into his bag he checked the time.

11:35.

Aang ran out the door giving Gran-Gran a quick "bye" followed by a wave and a grin.

Kanna she knew of course. Giving the fact that she was helping paying the medical bills so she should know.

That Aang, healthy, talented and spiritual Aang showed symptoms of the early stages of leukaemia.

Aang left that trail of thought and carried on jogging, losing himself in his music.

Aang carried on running, he loved it. It was one of the only constants in his life. He looked for a nice spot to meditate for a while, deciding he had enough time to do so.

Aang skid to a halt, unknowingly causing him to miss a disastrous collision with our lovely Toph, but still manage to bump into her knocking her over. Now, if this was any other day, had Toph been more prepared, more attentive or not in such a hurry as Toph is a graceful master martial artist extraordinaire and she would have definitely beat up the stupid guy who had messed with her. He would regret the day he had crossed paths with Toph Beifong

"Watch it, punk!" She screamed totally getting into Aang's face.

"Sor- Wait, Toph?" Aang asked as he recognised our heroine.

"Oh, Aang? So you're the idiot that decided to bump into me today?" Toph leered at our poor, unsuspecting, defenceless Aang.

"Yeah sorry about that, but you really should've been paying more attention really" Aang chuckled making a fatal mistake as he ruffled Toph's hair.

She judo flipped him.

Aang laughed freely from his place on the ground staring at the icy blue sky. The sun protecting him from the harsh winds.

"So Toph where you headed?" Aang questioned. He checked his watch. "12:30, I never figured you to be someone that leaves the house before 2." He laughed again.

"I'm going to a place and you don't know squat about me." Toph answered gruffly, flinging herself onto the ground next to him.

"Oh is that so," Aang said, knowing that although she had a bag her wandering had been kind of aimless.

"How about you come and watch my track meet. It'll be fun, I promise!" Aang proposed as he grinned at her.

"Sure, why not" Toph agreed lazily, since she had nothing else to do and needed to kill time, then realisation dawned.

"Oh, hang on a second airhead, you'll have to wear those shorts that are part of the uniform won't you?" Toph smirked. "I'll be looking forward to that" She told him, laughing manically.

Aang gulped as he realised his mistake. Oh no.

The pair were at school by five to one, laughing and pumped with competitive adrenaline after having wasted their earlier free time by playing a few rough games of aggressive soccer, by which Toph had discovered that Aang was incredibly light on his feet. To her he was just begging for it.

She had refused to call him anything else apart from 'Twinkle Toes' (sometimes maybe airhead) after that. He had yet to realise that 'Twinkle Toes' was better than the nickname she had yet to give him.

"Aang!" A long dark haired girl with a pony tail called out to him. She jogged over to the still, giggling pair.

"Hey Kai" Aang greeted her, turning round to Toph to introduce the two. "Toph, this is Kai, my teammate. Kai, this is Toph"

"Hey" The two spoke, looking at each other mischievously. Kai had a beautiful chocolate tan as well as an onyx mane and amethyst, opal orbs. This girl could even rival that Kit Kat from earlier in beauty. Well looks like Twinkle Toes isn't as innocent as we thought he was, look at him, building his own harem like this. Toph grinned. Well he sure knew how to make ol' mama proud.

"Say, Kai." Toph started with a smirk "How is it, you get to real articles of clothing whereas Aang over here has to wear those hot pants of shame?" Toph asked her, laughing as Aang paled making neck cutting motions behind her back. Toph's laughter was followed by Kai who joined in, much to Aang's displeasure and embarrassment. He regretted introducing these two to one another, he could he not have seen, that they were destined to gang up on him.

Aang sighed, this was going to be a long track meet.

Toph sighed. Finally, that stupid track meet was finished, although it was fun embarrassing T.T by screaming "GO HOTPANTS!" and "NICE RUN TWINKLE TOES!" to embarrass him in front of his teammates, as well as watching his expression when she almost got kicked out from screaming and him having to confirm that she was with, and was in fact cheering for him was hilarious, but the meet did drag. She took out the first device in her pocket to check the time, her iPod.

14:30.

"Hey Hot Pants, ready to go yet?" She yelled walking over to Aang who was in a fascinating conversation with some of his teammates.

"Oh Aang, your shouty little girlfriend is coming over" One of them said, a blonde with emerald eyes.

Aang blushed immediately.

"She's not my girlfriend, Daisuke!" He protested to the guy, presumably Daisuke.

"Shut up, before I beat the living crap out of you stick legs" Toph threatened the guy, glaring. Then she smirked.

"Don't bully my baby Hot Pants" She said smirking, pulling Aang closer to her, making him blush furiously, not just at the contact, but the fact that everyone in the vicinity heard that and that horrendous nickname.

"Not your girlfriend, huh Aang?" Daisuke smirked at him, knowing Toph was just getting a kick out of teasing him.

"I'll leave you two lovebirds to it then," Daisuke told them and winked at Toph. From what his sister had told him this girl was cool, maybe she could be his next target.

"No Dai" Aang whined pleading his friend to come back.

"What's wrong Twinkle Pants? You afraid of the badger mole?" Toph exclaimed sadistically whilst laughing.

"Toooppphh" Aang whined as Toph dragged him away from his team mates, earning amused stares and comments like "She's got him whipped" and "Lil Aang finally got himself a girl, huh?"

"Where are you taking me?" Aang sulkily. It was comic really, seeing him all pouty and whiny. Kind of cute. Toph smiled then turned to face him.

"You practice any martial arts or fighting styles?" She asked him

"Yeah. Why?" He wondered.

"Because we're going to a dojo." She answered smiling evily.

Aang gulped.

A/N – I wanted to continue it hear I really did, but this was meant to be done and posted yesterday. I'm trying to do longer chapter so I don't want to juice out all my ideas on just one fic. I'm going try and do a minimum of 2.4k per chapter and a bit less for filler chapters but this was a huge sorry for my ONE YEAR ABSENCE super sorry like what the actual hell it never even felt like one year at all, because the chapter I was originally going to post I word on it like every 2-4 weeks on my laptop, so even though I wasn't posting it felt like I was working. As you could probably tell from the last chapter I have a blocked creativity flow as I am using, over used Mary-Sueish plots that have been by no doubt overly exploited in every film you see nowadays. Usually I'm a creative person. Sorry again for my absence and I will start working on the next chapter tomorrow as well as rehearsing a guide line for an actual safe secure plot, so keep checking back on the previous chapters as I might edit them to fit the new plot.

I was 12 when I started this fic, I'm almost 14 and I've wasted mine and your time doing nothing with this story at all, but I do intend to finish it.

When I started this story I was going through some serious pen name issues which I have hopefully resolve. That means I'll be staying the Arctic Blossom for a while.

All my love
