Inspired by How To Train Your Dragon, thanks to those movies my writer's block is stone cold dead! Its been shot down by flaming arrows! Or maybe a Night Fury blast. Seriously, watch both movies, the music paired with the flying sequences still send shivers through me. Its that awesome.
If someone were to write a story where Geoff and Drake meet Hiccup and Toothless, and Lian met Astrid, and Mansel met Fishlegs, and Roland met Snotlout, and the twins just ran amok, I would love them foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Which is a very long time. So you'd probably have to feed me too lol.

This chapter is a reference to Geoff's pov on her first flight with Meera in chapter 4

Geoff's eyes opened, his vision blurry.

"I think he's waking up." Who was that? Lian? Meera? Allena? The voice was feminine but his vision was too blurry to make out anything. He struggled to lift his head, open his eyes more, speak, anything. But the blackness enroached on the edges of his vision and he was dragged back down into the miasma of sleep.

"Geoff? Geoff?!"

"Geoff!" The last thing his conscious mind heard was the voice of his heart-brother calling out to him.

Geoff's Dream:

"Geoff, what is it?" Lian couldn't but let out a girlish laugh as Geoff took her hands in his and attempted to manouver backwards through the courtyard towards the stable house. Her boyfriend, with that big bright world-shattering grin he kept only for her, sported on his face, with his cheeks flushed, looked happier then she'd seen him in months. He gazed at her smiling all the while bumping into monks behind him.

As they passed by Allena, Lian couldn't help but become even more curious when the flame-haired girl just grinned a knowing grin.

Lian turned her attention back to her boyfriend. He nearly stumbled as they entered the stable when his foot caught on a stray broom. Lian couldn't help but chuckle at how he seemed so clumsy today, when normally his footwork was perfect after years of his own training regimen.

By now Lian's mind was churning. Within the span of the ten seconds it took Geoff to backwards walk with her across the courtyard and into the stables her curiosity had taken total control. It was only when they stopped at another door, the door that lead out from the stables directly into the monastery's pasture. Lian looked questioningly at the blond, but he only smiled and gestured for her to walk through the door. She staved off the desire to rush through the door in haste to sate her curiosity, and walked slowly towards it. A cloth, probably placed by Geoff earlier, was hung over the door to prevent her seeing through the gaps in the wood. She took a deep breath and pushed.

When the door opened, she found the air in her lungs had left her, and tears had found her face.

There, in the grass, was Meera all alone. With a dragon saddle on her back. All the thoughts that rushed to her mind in that moment overwhelmed her. Maybe now, if she returned home on dragon back, perhaps her people could see that dragons aren't so bad. Pushing the thoughts aside she rushed to see the dragon...her dragon.

She watched as Geoff passed by her and mounted Meera. He looked imploringly at her, "well, are you coming?" Finally getting the hint she was all to happy to nestle herself behind Geoff, but as she was getting ready to sit behind him he gave her a strange look, "you're steering silly, this isn't my dragon." Geoff only smiled bigger as her face expressed shock. But Lian was a princess, and she got her stubbornness from both her parents. So without another word she took the front, Geoff's hands finding her midsection and his head resting on her shoulder. She fought the blush threatening to bloom. Meera seemed to think they were comfortable enough, because as soon as Lian opened her mouth to ask her to take off, the dragoness's wings pumped and they were twenty feet in the air in a single second. Lian wanted to scream as the ground seemed to fall away beneath them.

"Okay listen closely," Geoff spoke into her air, his breath tickling her ear and making her smile despite his serious tone, "the faster you fly the harder it is to talk to one another, so you'll have to develope other ways to communicate."

Lian turned to look at him while Meera hovered in the air and listened. "How do you talk to Drake?"

Geoff shrugged, "usually with my hands. When we fly it makes him more aerodynamic if I'm hugging his neck and pressed down as much as possible into the saddle. So I use my hands to communicate. Don't worry, I've already told Meera what to pay attention for. To ask her to rise you slide your hands upwards, to descend you do the opposite and slide your hands downwards. Forwards is forwards."

"Aerodynamic? That's a big word for you, I'm so proud," Lian teased her boyfriend. She was surprised to see him blush.

"It's not my fault, Drake uses a lot of big words every so often," at Geoff's statement Meera snorted in amused agreement, "usually I get him to explain them and maybe I picked up a few of them."

Meera turned her head to look at them, "I've never met someone so into books, is that really all he used to do, read books?"

"You can thank the late friar Peter for that," answered Geoff, "according to one of the books friar Peter had given him we aren't even the first people to ride dragons. Apparently there was a dragonrider from the 9th century, whenever that was, named Gareth and some dragon named Drago," he offhandedly mentioned before turning his attention back to Lian, "anyways, so if you want her to stop you slide your hands backwards, and to go we slide our hands forwards."

"What about turning?"

"That's a bit more complicated, but not by much. To turn left you slide your left hand down, and your right hand up. To turn right you-."

"Slide my left hand up and my right hand down? I think I've got it, anything else?"

"You can ask her to do other tricks, but I'll leave you to figure out what hand signals you want to use for those. Me and Drake sometimes do a loop in the air. To do that I slide my hands forwards, up, then back, like a 'U' pattern." Geoff patted her shoulder, "that's everything, so you want to try?"

Lian turned back to face forwards she leaned forwards and was surprised when Geoff leaned forwards as well. Sandwiched between a blonde Englishman and a dragoness, Lian slid her hands forwards. But Meera instead descended and landed, "if I'm to bond with Lian then perhaps it would be best if our first flight together was...you know."

Lian looked at Geoff but he only smiled, "alone together," he agreed. As he dismounted Lian couldn't help but feel a tad afraid. But somewhere deep down she knew if she wanted to gain this dragoness's trust as her rider, she would indeed need to do this alone. Geoff walked over to where Drake was watching. The blue and brown dragon had come out to watch them around the time Geoff had just finished explaining flying to her.

The pair watched together as Lian took off on Meera. They watched as the two did figure eights around the monasteries towers several times. From the looks of it Lian was ecstatic. Then Meera started pulling into steep dives, barrel rolls, and even loop-de-loops like Geoff had mentioned. They applauded as Meera dove down, pulling up and flying just feet over the pair's heads. By now they were moving too fast for Geoff to see Lian's face. But if he had to guess, he'd say she was feeling an immense amount of freedom. That's if his first time flying on Drake's back was any clue.

Lian leaned as close to Meera's back as she could, she could feel the every movement of the rose red scales as her dragoness pulled stunt after stunt perfectly.

Why were they applauding? Did they think she was doing this? This was all Meera. She would scream if she wasn't putting every ounce of energy towards holding on. She closed her eyes tightly, and when she opened them she lost any words she would have screamed. Meera had evened out, and slowed down considerably. Despite her fear earlier, she had to admit this was pretty darn cool. It was the majesty of all that she was witnessing. She couldn't see Geoff anymore, they were like ants below. It was honestly incredible. Meera rose up even higher, and they soared up into the heavens. The clouds flew by yet none seemed to ever touch her. She couldn't help but hold out her arms at her sides with a great big grin (not unlike her boyfriend's earlier), trailing her fingertips through the slowly drifting fields of white. Together they raced the clouds.

Flying was spectacular. She couldn't begin to wonder what it must be like to Drake or Meera, who experienced this euphoria of freedom whenever they wanted.
If she could get Meera to stop being so proud and bullheaded when it came to flying, then flying would definitely become one of her favorite pastimes.

Later when Geoff finally woke up, everyone else had left his bedside, but the two that were there were happy to see him. Lian had pounced on him and Drake allowed his head to rest on his heart-brother's belly as he let out a rumbling purr of contentment. Apparently Geoff had been having horrible fits in his sleep, screaming about an attack, and the wizard in the courtyard before he almost woke up. After his near wake-up the first time, he had slept peacefully (and dreampt of Lian flying)
Lian later asked Drake to leave, and showed Geoff just how happy she was he was alive. Whatever nightmare he'd been having, he must have been throwing one hell of a fit in his sleep the first half (before the dream of the flight).

"You know," Geoff huffed out, a grin across his face as he beamed proudly at the fact he'd just consummated a relationship with his dream girl. The pair leaned heavily on one another, exhausted from their first night together. Together, that word sent his mind reeling in a whole new way now. "I bet we probably look like Drake and Meera do whenever they don't get a good enough sleep."

Lian was proud of the fact she managed to not smile or laugh at her boyfriend as she waited for him to put the pieces together.

"Wait," Lian could see the cogs working in Geoff's head as realization dawned on him, "You mean Drake got laid before me? DRAKE?!"

Lian finally let out her laugh. They watched as Meera passed by, with her belly full of eggs.

"And...and...and then Meera...she got...," Lian looked over just in time to watch her boyfriend let out a groan before fainting.
She would ask him about the first dream later.

So if anyone is still confused: the cliffhanger was ALL A DREAM. Sorry if this is short. 1899 words, that's pretty good for the first chapter back don't you think?
