KAI'S POV
"I'm not kidding! I swear the myths of like everything are true!" I say walking with Ryan who's laughing a little to our next class cause it turns out she has Mr. Smith for science with me and Percy "Dude if you can prove to me that their real theeeennnn... I'll dress in a dress with heels and make-up along with getting my hair done to school for a week" she says with a glint of challenge in her eyes "BUT if you can't prove it to me in...lets say...one month then you have to not talk for a week" she continues "you're on Rock" I say shaking her hand "c'mon Ashbel let's get to class cause if we're late we have to sit at the table of shame" she says turning down the hall with me following.
"Kai!" I turn around and see Percy coming towards us "yo Rock wait a sec" I say "why?" she ask confused so I point to Percy and she smirks "sup Jackson" she says when he gets to us "hey Ryan...what are you and Kai doing?" he ask "going to class" I answer "and making a bet" Ryan says as we start walking again Percy looks confused
"Bet about what?" he ask and me and Ryan smirk "should we tell him?" I whisper to her "nah I wanna see how hard he'll try to figure it out" she whispers back and I snicker "hey what are you guys talking about?" we look at each other then at Percy "nooothhhiiinnnng" we say and go into the class room while Percy frowns "hey that's not fair" he says still frowning me and her laugh and sit in the back with me in the middle, Rock on my left, and Percy on my right
"good day class! anybody late?" the man who I'm assuming to be the teacher in his late thirties walks in a minute after the bell wearing black slacks, black,white,and grey tennis shoes, and a hoodie with the school colors smiling
Some kid runs in a few second late panting from running apparently and groans when he see he didn't beat the teacher who points to a desk in front of his and Rock yells out "to desk of shame pesent!" and the class including me laughs while the kid flops down in the desk "ok class so I have a surprise...instead of a class worksheet I'm giving you a partner project!" he says and the class groans
"what's so bad about partner projects?" I whisper ask Rock and she sighs "his projects are the worst and he'll pick horrible partner pairs" she whisper backs and I gulp 'ok...bad project with a bad partner...' I think while I sink in my desk a little and bounce my leg nervously thinking about who might be my partner that I don't hear him call out the names until "and finally Kai Ashbel and Percy Jackson you two are partners"
I blink then look at Percy and he seems surprised too
"ok class the project is to answer this question: How Does Personality Influence Movie Preference... I want you to create a questionnaire that will let you clearly see what each participant likes in movies like science fiction, action, romance ., also give each participant a personality test and compare the results from that to what movie they like and see what personality like what movie then write up your results to present to the class and give evidence of the results...this project is due in three weeks, you have the rest of the hour to talk with your partner" Mr. Smith finish's and everyone gets up going to their partners some a little more reluctant than others
"sooo...when do you want to work on the project?" I turn to Percy "umm...how about today after school?" I suggest and he nods "your place or mine?" he ask "if its not to much of a problem could we go to yours? mom doesn't like people coming over when she has work" I say and he nods "yeah it's fine no problem" I nod "ummm...what's your address?" I ask and he looks at me then slaps his forehead "sorry my bad its Arthur avenue apartment 2C Carter apartments" he tells me and I write it down on a piece of paper then stick it in my hoodie pocket
"so...do you have any people in mind that could take the test?" I ask and he nods "yeah my mom, my girlfriend, my step-dad...what about you?" he ask "well I could ask my friends from my old school" I say "yeah you talked about them when I ran into you this morning...umm.. Sofia, Diana, and...Theo?" he guesses "Theron" I correct "right"
So this goes on for the rest of the hour planning out the project occasionally drifting to different topics then getting back on topic 'wow..i haven't ever made friends this fast...even with Theron, Diana, and Sofia it took about four days'
"Why? you seem cool how do you not make friends?" Percy ask "did I say that out loud?" I ask embarrassed and feel my cheeks get red as he nods "I'm just very social with new people" I explain and he raises an eyebrow "ok not social with large crowds and I can't make the first move I get nervous and stutter a lot" he looks confused "but what about Ryan?" he nods in her direction "she said hey first" I explain "so technically I didn't-HOLY ZEUS!" I scream the last part as Rock sneaks up on me the screams "OGABOGA!" in my ear
"don't DO that!" I say holding a hand over my chest glaring at her as she laughs "sorry dude but it was too good to resist! and did you just scream holy Zeus?" she ask still laughing I roll my eyes "YES" I say emphasizing the 'yes' "I already explained the whole 'Greek Geek' thing to you!" I say turning back to Percy "Greek Geek?"
"What my friends call me cause I love Greek mythology so they like to call me Greek Geek...its one of the nicknames we have for each other"(1) I explain shrugging
"okay class! I hope you have a plan! you have two minutes left rap it up!" Mr. Smith says "ok so I'll come to your house after school and we'll get started on the project?" Percy agrees and the bell rings
(1)- no offense to anybody who love Greek mythology I myself love it and it's just something that came to me so no offense or anything!
