It takes him 3 days, 18 hours and 37 minutes to work up his courage.
He remembers hoping, thinking it would be him.
But he's over 100 years in the future again. And she's already passed away. Yet he just saw her 5 days ago.
But looking this up, seeing who she married, hurts more then that knowledge.
There's other ways, but he puts on the Giggle, and for a breath stealing moment he thinks he back sitting on his couch in Pickford, looking up their test results in advance. Then it passes and he takes a deep breath.
'Keely Teslow…. Married April 30th 2017 to…..' Phil feels his heart skip and he tries to swallow past the lump in his throat. Numbly he removes the Giggle, not bothering to shut it down and walks outside. He suddenly needs some air.
Barb watches it all from just outside the room. She knows what he looked up, and her heart clenches for him. She walks to the discarded device and reads the screen. Her eyes widen, and she turns to look at him, then back again.
Then she smiles. She knew somehow, someway, he'd find a way back there. In her heart she already misses him.
'…Married April 30th 2017 to Philip Diffy.'
