Since someone asked so nicely ;-)

Here's a Guss fic… sorry it's kind of short. I coulldn't think of anything much longer, because Guss isn't really a denizen of my mind like some of the other companions are… but hey, it was fun to write… hopefully it's fun to read :)

"But, what about your wife?" The young woman on the holo asked, eyes glimmering.

The man looked down at her. "I don't love her… not like I love you…" He bent down to kiss her.

Guss sniffed. "I always hate this part—it's so sad that he cheats on his wife after she stood by him for years, even before he became a billionaire." Cecily and Risha nodded in agreement, eyes nearly glued to the movie.

Corso stopped in his place. He'd been slipping through the common area on the ship to the galley to get something to eat. He wrinkled his nose. "You can stand this stuff?" It wasn't romance that bothered him. He liked to think that he could be pretty romantic with Ceci when he wanted to, but those movies seemed forced, and he found watching them to be tedious.

Cecily looked at him, and she got that glint in her eye that usually meant that she was going to give someone—usually Corso—a hard time. "I think Guss is a true romantic, Corso. There's nothing wrong with that. In fact, I think it's quite the admirable trait in a person."

Risha had looked away from the movie by then, and she joined in on Cecily's game. "You could always leave Riggs and date Guss instead…"

"You know? I just might."

Corso groaned in surrender and shook his head, leaving the room. He knew better than to take those two seriously.

On the holo now was the man and his mistress, ardently making love. Nothing graphic, rather just the guy's bare chest, glimpses of her bare leg, and perhaps a passionate moan every now and then as they did the deed in a barely lit room.

Guss shifted uncomfortably. "Captain, I uh—I hate to say this to you, but I—I don't think you're really my type. I mean, you're pretty, and I'm sure you'd be good in—"

Cecily smiled in amusement, but interrupted him to stop his awkward dialogue, especially before he said something that might make the situation more uncomfortable for himself. "I get it, Guss. I wouldn't leave Riggs anyway. It was a joke."

"Oh. Okay. That's a relief." The mon calamari sighed. "But that's not to say that I wouldn't be honored, it's just—"

"Leave it, Guss."

"Right, captain."
