Chapter 2: The First Step is Always the Hardest
Author's Note: Holy crap... It's been a long time since I've been here... I'm really sorry I haven't been updating this story. To tell you the truth, school took over so much that I just didn't feel like typing up this story anymore, but I eventually got back into it. I built up the confidence to type this chapter up. No matter how long it takes, I will finish this story. I hope you enjoy Chapter 2 of The Lawyer, The Ninja, and The Assassin!
Phoenix Wright awoke to the sound of a trumpet blaring in his right ear.
"Wah!" he screamed as he fell to the floor. Deadpool's face popped out in front of Nick.
"Up, up, up, soldier! It's the big day!" Deadpool yelled as he had a commander's hat on. Nick just groaned.
"Don't be surprised about how he woke you. He placed a mouse on my face and watched me scream. I grabbed the mouse and threw it directly at him," informed Hiryu.
"I just hope you aren't my alarm all the time, Wade," said Nick. He got up out of his bed and headed for the bathroom. After showering and combing his hair, Nick checked inside the closet to see what to wear and said out loud, "Hey, do you guys know what we have to dress in today?"
"According to Anna, we don't really have a specific uniform for each day. We can wear whatever we want," replied Hiryu.
"That means we have to look good for the crowd!" Deadpool chimed in. "We need to wear something of the same color!"
"Well, how about something in red and black or gray?" Nick asked them.
"Sounds good!" Wade agreed.
"I don't mind. Just so you both know, our challengers today are Nova, Ryu, and Hsien-Ko," notified Strider. Phoenix groaned in annoyance.
"I'm not even a fighter, and going against a guy named Nova makes me certain that I'll get destroyed today," said Nick while picking out a gray suit, black pants, black shoes, and a red tie.
"Wait, did you say 'Ryu', Hiryu?" asked Wade with a big smile on his face.
"Yeah, why?" replied Strider. Deadpool's smile grew even wider than before.
"Wahoo! This is great! I can finally learn how to do a Shoryuken! I'm coming for you, Capcom!" said Deadpool while looking in another direction.
"What are you talking about? Are you okay?" Nick asked Wade. He only nodded, signifying that there was no problem at all. As Nick got dressed into his new suit, the telephone rang, so he walked over to it and answered the phone.
"Hello? Who's this? Oh, Anna, it's you! Good morning. How are you? I'm pretty good, kinda nervous, though. I still haven't unlocked my hidden potential. What's that? You want us to meet you in the ballroom? You got it. We'll meet you in about 20 minutes, then. All right. See you later," Nick said as he hung up the phone.
"What did she say?" asked Hiryu.
"We have to head to the ballroom. Anna and Finn will lead us to the area we are fighting in, the Danger Room. After that, we're on our own," informed Phoenix.
"Yes! Finally! I can finally k—Oops. Almost let it slip," Deadpool said as he giggled to himself. A confused look appeared on Nick's face and he asked Wade what he meant by "letting it slip". Deadpool just laughed and said, "Well, you see, there is a specific word that I can't say, or else I'll go really crazy, like, crazier than I've ever been. It's the 'K' word, just so you know. If I hear it three times, you might want to get away from me. This could be our secret weapon, so we must use it wisely. Just so you know, reader, Hiryu said the word back in Chapter 1, so two more times and it's Doomsday for everyone."
"So, one single word makes you go crazy… and who are you talking to, anyway?!" Nick questioned with an annoyed tone of voice. Deadpool ignored Nick's question, as if he didn't want anyone to know about his secret.
"Are we all ready to go?" Nick asked the two in front of him.
"Affirmative," Hiryu responded.
"My body is ready! I sure hope Nintendo doesn't sue me…" Deadpool said. The three headed through the halls and managed to find the ballroom from the party yesterday fully cleaned and polished. They looked around to find out where Anna and Finn were, and they saw the two socializing with Maya and the Judge as Missile sat there patiently. Finn took notice of the three men approaching him and said, "You guys finally made it. How do you feel?"
"I feel great!" Deadpool replied with a happy smile.
"I feel determined," Strider said. "A Strider is always ready for battle."
"I feel pretty good," said Phoenix. He wanted to say he was so nervous because of his low capability to fight, but he didn't want to let Finn and Anna down.
"That's just wonderful," Anna said as she clasped her hands together with joy. "I wanted you guys to come earlier to show you something pretty neat." She directed them all to the front stage with several rings on the floor.
"You see, during the party, these rings were used as different colored lights, but this time, we've manufactured and few things," said Finn. "These rings will be your transportation tools throughout the entire tournament. When you step on a ring, you must enter the location of where you are fighting on this keypad. After that, you just wait a few seconds and you'll be instantly warped to the place! Easy, right?"
"That sounds like fun! With the power of my teleporter and that teleporter, I will surely become Super Deadpool! Me first! Me first!" Deadpool said while pushing Nick and Hiryu out of the way. He went inside the circle and punched in the code "Danger Room" on the keypad. A golden light appeared around Deadpool and he waved goodbye to his friends. Before Anna and Finn could stop Deadpool, he discouraged in an instant.
"Damn it. Oh well. We should all go inside, then," said Finn. Both Anna and Finn led the rest of them into the other circles. After the two punched in the codes into their keypads, they all transported to their designated location.
Everyone arrived at the Danger Room in a matter of seconds. They found Deadpool waiting on a seat.
"What took you guys so long?" asked Deadpool as he tapped his foot impatiently. They all ignored his question.
"Can you please pull up your sleeve, Mr. Wright?" Anna asked Nick.
"Umm… sure. Why?" he asked her hesitantly.
"Don't worry. You'll see." After Phoenix rolled up his sleeve on his right arm, Anna took out a needle and poked him with it.
"Ouch! What is that?!" he wailed as he saw a bright red liquid being injected into his veins. Maya was scared of the sight of Nick getting hurt.
"Is that safe for him?" she asked Anna.
"Relax. He'll be fine. Mr. Wright, this is your X-Factor," Anna said to Nick.
"My What-Factor?" he asked her as he saw Hiryu getting injected as well, but he had no expression of pain on his face.
"Your X-Factor. This will be your secret weapon in every match in the tournament. You can use the X-Factor anytime, but you can only use it once, so use it wisely. The more contestants that are knocked out during a match, the more powerful X-Factor will be. All you have to do to unleash it is focusing all your energy into your heart. Pretty simple, right?" Finn informed them as he poked Deadpool with the needle. Wade gave an over-exaggerated scream.
"I guess so," Nick said as he rubbed his arm.
"So, who's going first in the team?" Anna asked the three men.
"I wouldn't mind going first," said Hiryu. "Either way, I don't care who goes first."
"I volunteer Mr. Wright as tribute!" said Deadpool as he grabbed Nick's hand and waved it up in the air. Nick tried to object, but Anna agreed.
"Great. I have a few more things to explain. Do you see that giant barrier in the next room?" Anna asked while pointing to the electric whit barrier past the gate.
"Yes…" they all said.
"Only one person from each team can enter the barrier at one time. If one person goes too far out of the barrier, they will be electrocuted. The only way more people can enter the barrier is this: if participants switch out with each other, if the participants from the outside come and assist the ones fighting, or if there is a crossover combination, meaning that all the teammates unleash an ultimate attack on the opposing team. Got it?" Anna informed.
"Yes," they responded.
"Every contestant has their own vitality bar for the whole team, as well as the entire team having hyper bars. The vitality bar is your life source in every match, so if you lose all your vitality, you will be electrocuted and knocked out of the barrier and the next partner will come in. The more you successfully attack your opponent, the more hyper power you will build up. You can have a maximum of 5 hyper bars at a time, but it can recharge. Remember, use the hyper bars wisely. Hyper combos used at their full potential can be truly powerful and deadly. Understand?" Finn explained. They all nodded to signify they understood.
"Great. So, now we need one last thing before we go," said Anna. They looked confused as she said, "We need Maya, the Judge, Missile, and Strider's Options back in their cards. They will be used for battle."
"What?!" both Maya and the Judge exclaimed.
"But, I don't want to go back in there! It's dark and scary! I was just getting used to hanging out with Nick again!" said Maya while clinging on to Nick's arm. Nick put his hand on her shoulder.
"Maya, everything will be okay. You'll be safe with the Judge and Missile. Just bear with me on this. After all this is over, we can watch as many Steel Samurai re-runs as you want, okay?" said Nick with a kind smile. Maya sighed and finally agreed.
"I sure hope you know what you are doing, Mr. Wright," said the Judge.
"Don't worry, You Honor. I'm certain I'm doing the 'Wright' thing here," Nick said with a smile. Everyone (including Missile) face-palmed at Nick's pun.
"All right. We'll put the cards out in front of us, and a beam of light will hit you guys, causing you to go inside the card," Finn said to Maya and the Judge. They understood what he meant. Finn pulled out three blank cards and aimed them at Maya, the Judge, and Missile; Anna held out three cards in front of her, each for Strider's Options to go inside. A beam of light shot out of the cards and to the partners. In an instant, they were each inside a card of their own.
"Here you go. Use them wisely," Finn said as he and Anna gave Phoenix and Strider their respective cards.
"All right. We wish you the best of luck. We know you can win. We believe in you," Anna said to the three. Finn and Anna began to leave through the door behind them. As they opened the door and went inside, the roars and applause of the audience could be clearly heard, but went back to silence as the doors closed. Nick had a nervous look on his face.
"I'm so nervous, guys. What if I can't fight and I lose this thing for all of us?" asked Nick.
"Look, Mr. Wright. All you have to do to win is to do what you do best," said Hiryu. Deadpool agreed.
"What do you mean?" asked Nick.
"You are a lawyer, correct? That means you must fight like a lawyer."
"Yeah! Throw some papers and evidence around and you'll do just fine!" said Deadpool. Nick smiled at his allies.
"Thanks, guys. I'm glad I could have friends like you on my side," he said to them. They both smiled at him, thinking how such different people could become good friends and partners.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the very First Round of Marvel vs. Capcom! We'll be having many matches featuring the best teams of all, so get ready for the epic brawls today!" exclaimed Anna as she gazed around to see the crowd cheering.
"all right! Let's bring out the first team of the day!" said Finn while looking at his clipboard. "Our first team is Team 7, with our the first member coming in, the rocket man of awesomeness: Nova!"
After his name was called, a man in black and gold armor flew out of the opposite gate and flew up to the sky, landing on the ground with force after.
"Nova… the guy who put the 'War' in 'New Warriors'," he said.
"Next, we have the famous karate man, who is known to be the greatest Street Fighter: Ryu!"
A man with a red gi, a black headband, and black wristbands came running out of the gate. He threw a few punches and came next to Nova, saying, "Come on… fight!"
"And lastly, we have a woman. She's the woman who's been fighting with her sister to save their mother: Hsien-Ko!"
A woman with purple hair, wearing a black and red traditional Chinese dress, and a hat with a golden paper on it swung on a chain to Ryu and Nova, but fell on her butt attempting to land. Ryu helped her up to her feet.
"You should run while you can!" Hsien-Ko said.
"This is great! Just great! Now we have to introduce the opposing team!" Finn started.
"From the group of ninja warriors called Striders, we are calling out Strider Hiryu!" Anna called out.
"That's my cue. See you guys outside," said Hiryu. He jumped up into the air and suddenly disappeared into thin air. Outside, Hiryu teleported in front of Team 7, held out his golden blade Cypher behind him, and stated bluntly, "Strider Hiryu, ready for battle."
"Next we have the merc with a mouth, Deadpool!" said Finn.
"See you in a bit, Wright-O!" Deadpool told Nick as he teleported to the outside. As he appeared next to Strider, he noticed Ryu and said, "RYU! I freakin' love Street Fighter! Autograph your spleen for me?' Ryu was confused by what Deadpool said, so he ignored it and just nodded in response.
"How the hell can these guys get teleportation devices and I don't get squat?!" Nick thought to himself. He awaited his name to be called up, for he knew there was no backing out now.
"And last, but not least, the ace attorney with a burning passion for justice: Phoenix Wright!" both Anna and Finn said in unison. Phoenix breathed in and walked outside the open door. Everyone stared in silence as he went up to his team; many people still could not believe a lawyer was in a fighting tournament.
"Nice suit, Mr. Lawyer," Nova said with a smirk. "Let's make this quick. I've got a universe to save."
Phoenix was scared of what Nova could do to him, but he breathed in and gave Nova a glare.
"I won't lose. Not to the likes of you!" said Nick as he pointed to the human rocket.
"Yahoo! Mr. Wright!" a voice rang in Nick's ear. He looked around to find out where the voice came from, and he saw Felicia (in her regular cat outfit) sitting on a front row seat. She gave a thumbs up and said "I know you can win!"
Nick blushed and tried his best to not notice the lack of clothing, so he smiled and returned the thumbs up.
"All right, guys! If we just work together, we can win! Let's do this!" Nick told his teammates.
"Right!" both Deadpool and Strider responded in unison. Annabelle and Finnegan looked at all the members in each team, ready to give the signal.
"Get ready to brawl… FIGHT!"
Deadpool, Strider, Hsien-Ko, and Ryu came out of the barrier, leaving Phoenix and Nova enclosed inside the electric walls.
"Energy Javelin!" Nova yelled out as he threw an anergy rod in the air. The rod then turned downwards and launched itself at Nick.
"Uh-oh!" Nick said. He jumped out of the way just in time. "Hey! That's no fair! I don't have any weapons!"
"Tough luck, kid. Anything goes in this game," said Nova as he smiled deviously.
"Mr. Wright! You told me you had a court case before all this happened, correct? Use the evidence in your possession as your weapons!" Hiryu advised Nick. Nick first began to think that something like that was absolutely insane, but what else could he do? He thanked Hiryu and took out the card with Maya's face on it.
"Help me out, Maya!" Nick said while holding the card out in front of him. In an instant, Maya popped out of the card, saying, "Leave this to me, Nick!" Maya used her spirit medium powers and created a shield for Nick. Nick thanked her and got behind her. Nick looked in his suitcase to find anything that would prove useful. Nova began to punch and kick Maya's shield, heavily weakening herself.
"Hahaha! You just can't handle my power!" said Nova.
"C'mon, there's got to be something in here that I can use! Ah-ha! This plunger was bad evidence in the case, but it has to do me some good!" Nick thought to himself. He pulled the plunger out of the suitcase.
"I can't… hold on… much longer, Nick!" said Maya. The force of Nova's punches broke through Maya's shield. She fell on her butt and went back inside the card. Nick thanked her for the assistance.
"Help, Strider!" Nick called out. Hiryu jumped through the barrier and teleported behind Nova, kicking him in the back to the ground. He bade his farewell and went back outside. With Nova vulnerable, Nick began to whack Nova with the plunger. He knocked him into the air and proceeded with an air combo, knocking him down to the ground with the plunger once again. As Nick landed safely, he had a confident look on his face.
"Wow! So that's the hidden potential Finn and Anna were talking about!" Nick thought to himself. After Nova got off the ground, his hand started glowing and he launched forward, unleashing a rocket punch. Nick took notice of this, and quickly flinched with the Maya card held out in front of him.
"I've got a bad feeling…" Phoenix said to himself. Suddenly, Maya came out of the card once more and fell on Nick's body. Maya had an angry look on her face. Nick had a face of disbelief. He didn't mean to send her out again. "M-Maya?!"
"Steel Samurai Maya Smelting Attack!" she screamed in anger. Maya ran forward, constantly swinging her arms. Nova's rocket punch was no match for Maya's attack, so he was punched numerous times and knocked to the ground after Maya tripped. "That's for being so cocky!"
Maya was sucked back into her card and Nick thanked her while standing back up. Nova got back off the ground with a furious look on his face. He flew at super speed towards Nick. Phoenix was only able to gasp as he was punched and kicked into the air.
"Let's bring it! Power of the Nova Force!" yelled out Nova while he covered himself with a giant orange energy ball. Nick took in every hit and fell down to the floor. Nova punched the ground after, causing Nick to bounce off the floor.
"Feel my power! Gravimetric Blaster!" Nova cried out as he unleashed a giant laser from all the vitality he lost. Nick too the final hit and his vitality dropped to zero. Nick wailed in pain as he was electrocuted and sent flying out of the barrier to the nearest wall, causing him to drop to the floor and groan in pain after. Strider, Deadpool, and Felicia all had worried faces, along with the audience gasping and having shocked looks on their faces.
"Mr. Wright! Are you okay?" asked Hiryu while giving Nick a hand. Phoenix took it and thanked the ninja for his help, considering he was losing balance from the pain.
"I'm hurting everywhere; I told you I wasn't a fighter," Nick told Strider.
"You are wrong," said Hiryu. "You put up a good fight for someone who has never fought before."
Nick was glad that Hiryu was proud of him, so he smiled back at him.
"Wow! That combo Nova pulled off was awesome!" said Finn while standing on a platform with Anna.
"Yeah, but now it's time for Team 18 to step up their game, or else they'll lose for sure!" Anna mentioned.
"You're next, Wade," both Strider and Phoenix told to the assassin.
"What?! Aw, man! This is bull!" Deadpool yelled out as he grumbled and marched inside the battlefield. "All right, buddy. Let's make this quick. I really have to pee."
"Sure thing. I'll be sure to knock you out quickly, just like your little friend there," Nova said while pointing to Nick. Nova charged up the power in his right fist and launched himself at Deadpool. "Human Rocket Punch!"
"BAM!" yelled Deadpool as he held onto his belt buckle. In an instant, he teleported behind Nova and launched him into the air, followed by an air combo. He knocked the rocket man back to the floor and took out his two katana blades.
"Katana-Rama! Chimichangas!" the assassin said as he sliced the opponent twice, causing Nova to get launched to the electric barrier. Nova was electrocuted, so he bounced off the wall after. Deadpool quickly took out his guns and aimed them at Nova.
"Wahoo! Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!" said deadpool as he continuously shot Nova. All of Nova's vitality went down to zero, causing him to become electrocuted and knocked out of the barrier. The audience cheered and applauded with much excitement.
"Nice job, Deadpool!" Nick said while both he and Hiryu gave Wade a thumbs up. Deadpool gave his thanks, but then noticed something. "Wait, the space man didn't die?! What the hell?!"
"Sorry, Deadpool, but we've down-graded everyone's weapons. There won't be any ki- I mean, destroying anyone in this tournament!" said Anna with a nervous look on her face.
"Damn it! This is even bigger poop than the poop that's found in my bathroom!" complained Deadpool. Both Nick and Hiryu were pretty disgusted by what the assassin said, but they then told him to not worry about it.
"Now it's my turn!" Ryu said while flipping into the stage. Wade could not contain his excitement anymore, so he continuously spoke about how much of Ryu's fan he was. Ryu disregarded all of Deadpool's gibberish and concentrated on the fight, so he jumped over him and started punching the assassin. Deadpool was launched into the air, followed by an air combo and a cry of "Tatsumaki Senpukyaku!", proceeding with Deadpool getting launched to the floor. Ryu jumped up and placed his hands in a certain position, causing them to charge up with a ball of blue energy.
"Shinku… Hadoken!" Ryu yelled as he released a mighty wave of blue energy straight down at the fallen Deadpool. The assassin then stood up in pain and looked at his wrist: 45% vitality and 3 hyper bars left.
"All right… No more Mr. Nice Assassin…!" said Deadpool as he took out two grenades. He yelled out "Pineapple Surprise!" as he threw each one at Ryu. Ryu blocked both of the explosions, but was then shot by Deadpool and launched into the air. Deadpool pulled off an air combo, but was stopped when Ryu grabbed his leg.
"What the…?!" the assassin questioned. Ryu flipped Deadpool over and threw him to the wall, causing him to get electrocuted and bounced off. Deadpool fell to the floor, but he then quickly stood up and took out his katana blades.
"Grr! It's cuttin' time!" said Deadpool. He literally rushed to Ryu with anger, using up another hyper bar. Ryu was prepared for the attack, so he charged up his right fist.
"Shin…" he said as he channeled his energy. Deadpool was moving way too fast to stop, so all he could say was "Uh-oh…"
"Sho!" Ryu punched Deadpool in the with his right fist.
"Ryu!" He punched Deadpool in the jaw with his left fist.
"KEN!" Ryu used all his might to punch Deadpool in the jaw once more with his left fist, causing Deadpool to fly in the air.
"I still get paid, though, right?!" Deadpool yelled out as he was electrocuted and launched out of the barrier, hitting the wall and falling to the floor after.
"What a nice counter-attack by Ryu! Deadpool really didn't see that one coming! Are we going to see a comeback by Hiryu?" Finn announced. Nick and Hiryu went to where Deadpool fell.
"You okay, Wade?" asked Nick while leaning down to the assassin.
"I've been better..."
"Next time, try not to get so cocky like Nova," Strider suggested. Deadpool grew angry and immediately stood up.
"Cocky?! Why you little-!" Deadpool was cut off as Hiryu turned around and headed inside the barrier, fully focused on the battle. Nick wished the ninja good luck gave him a thumbs up.
"I've had enough of this! We won't win these battles if we don't work together and have a strategy! I will finish this quickly," Hiryu thought in his mind. He jumped inside and glared at a prepared Ryu. "I must warn you. I am an A-Class Strider."
"I guess that will make this battle much more interesting," Ryu replied with a smile. In an instant, Strider pulled out his three cards and placed them in front of him.
"Options A, B, and C! Go!" Strider commanded as the robotic tiger, eagle, and orb launched directly at Ryu. He took focus of only the animals, giving Strider the upper hand. The ninja teleported behind Ryu and managed to attack him. Strider launched Ryu into the air and proceeded with his air combo, followed by launching Ryu back to the ground. He then flipped backwards and shot his cards forward.
"There is no escape. Legion!"
The result of this was the use of another hyper bar. Herds of Hiryu's Options charged at Ryu and attacked him numerous times, causing his vitality to drop all the way down to zero. Ryu screamed in pain as he was electrocuted and launched out of the barrier.
"What a nice stunt from Hiryu!" said Anna in excitement.
"It sure was… but this is such a tight battle! Both teams are down to their members. I can't even tell who will win at this point!" replied Finn.
"Nice job, Hiryu!" Nick said. Hiryu nodded to the lawyer and noticed that Deadpool was waving a giant foam finger around with the name "HIRYU" printed on it.
"Where did you get that from?" Nick asked the assassin.
"Oh, you know… Amazon… That website has everything!" he replied. That response just made Nick sweatdrop… again.
"Oh, my turn? Okay, then!" Hsien-Ko said as she swung inside the battlefield on a chain. "This'll be fun."
"You don't know who you are dealing with, ma'am," Hiryu told her.
"Hey! I was just going to say the same thing! Well, except the 'ma'am' part," Hsien-Ko said while giving a smile to Hiryu. He became quite annoyed of Hsien-Ko's cheerful attitude in the middle of a serious battle, so he charged straight at the girl. Hsien-Ko saw this coming, so she disappeared for a few seconds.
"What?!" questioned Hiryu as he looked around. Hsien-Ko suddenly appeared in front of the ninja and attacked him before he could react. He was launched into the air and comboed, followed by him being launched to the floor.
"You're gonna get hurt!" said Hsien-ko. Her giant sleeves transformed into a single blade and she stabbed the floor, causing more blades to to emerge from the ground and stab Hiryu one by one. He fell to the floor after.
"Don't give up, Hiryu! We know you can do it!" Nick told him. Hiryu stood up slowly and said, "It's time to end this."
"Formation!" Hiryu yelled out. Two mechanical orbs emerged from his cards and began to rotate around him, making 3 more hyper bars to disappear. When he gave the signal, the orbs shot out many blue glowing energy balls straight at Hsien-Ko, never stopping for a second. To defend herself, Hsien-Ko blew the strip of paper (her sister) off her forehead, causing her entire body to glow a golden aura.
The two took their places, glaring at one another, eventually leading them to charge at each other! Hiryu continued to throw out energy balls and Hsien-Ko threw different objects directly at the ninja. The two screamed as both of their vitality bars were going down with every attack. The audience was silent and only watched in amazement. The two closed in on each other and striked, releasing a wave of energy behind. Strider looked at his arm carefully: 10% Vitality and 0 Hyper Bars. He turned around slowly and watched as Hsien-Ko dropped to the floor.
"We have a winner! Team 18!" yelled Anna! The audience applauded and cheered at the top of their lungs, along with the chanting of Hiryu's name.
"We did it! We won!" both Nick and Wade cheered simultaneously. Hiryu nodded and helped Hsien-Ko to her feet.
"You put up a good fight. Thank you for that," he told her.
"No… thank you. What you did in there was amazing! I now know what swiftness and speed really mean in battle. I will train just to be as great as you, Hiryu!" she responded with her unchanged smile. Nick and Deadpool shook hands with Nova and Ryu and they even came to terms with each other (Deadpool even managed to get an autograph from Ryu).
"Wow! What a great match! And this is only the beginning!" said Finn.
"We'll have more exciting matches on the way, so stay tuned!" said Anna.
Behind the audience stood two men.
"Did you see that?" the man in green asked.
"The match? Of course. I never took my eyes off of it for a second," the man in the black trenchcoat replied.
"You know what this means, don't you? These three might actually-"
"Don't say it out loud, you fool! They will not get in the way of our plans. I have arranged a plan that will surely kill those three off."
"Oh? And what might that be?"
"In due time. Come, Victor. We must head back to the laboratory," the man in black said as he began to walk into the shadows. The other man began to do the same thing.
"Fine… But this world will be ours. Nothing will stop us."
