Hello, my subjects!
Sebastian: Greetings.
Erin: Ack! How the hell did you get in here!?
Sebastian: I'm simply-
Amy: One hell of a butler; we know.
Erin: No; he's one hell of an asshole.
Me:...If you guys tick him off, I'm gonna stand back and laugh.
Anyway, I feel like I've wasted enough of your time; and thus, let us move on with our lives and story!
Erin: HELL YEAH!
The cold wind whipped around the two, Sebastian carrying/dragging Erin onwards, towards the slowly but surely growing manor in the distance. Multiple times, Erin had tried to get away. She'd wiggled around, attempt to slap him, she even managed to get out of his hold once or twice; but every time he'd simply bump her up, fixing his hold on her, before continuing on with his stroll.
"Why don't you just give up, miss?" Sebastian suggested, "You don't want to be tired when we arrive. My young master isn't the most patient."
"Why don't you just let me go?" Erin countered, tempted to slap his ass, only to shake her head. She wasn't that desperate.
Yet.
"Young miss? We've arrived." Sebastian said, snapping Erin out of her head. She looked up, eyes wide as she looked over the estate. The place was fucking huge!
Lots of rooms to rob.
"I do hope you're not thinking about robbing us, young miss." Sebastian said, walking her up to the rather large doorway.
"Get out of my head, butler boy." Erin murmured, just as Sebastian opened the door.
Inside, the high ceiling made the room feel a lot more spacious than the base, with the cold brown marble as a floor, and a red carpet the led up the stairs before dividing along the wall. Many different pillars held up the ceiling, with doors on the left and right on the large room.
Just as Sebastian closed the door, a voice rang out, "Welcome home Sebastian- Hey, who's that?"
Erin turned to the voice, eyes attempting to convey that she could only put up with so much more tonight. The boy had red clips in his short blonde hair, bright green eyes so cheerful and happy. Judging by his outfit, he was a gardener of some sort.
"Ah, Finny. This is our guest." Sebastian responded, as if carrying a girl in over his shoulder was just another normal occurrence.
"Oh, wonderful!" The boy, Finny, grinned, clasping his hands together. Erin couldn't help but give him a look. Was carrying a girl against her will into this place just another Tuesday for these people!?
Before Erin could voice her concerns (read: yell, scream and curse the two of them out), the two were interrupted by the sound of loud, quickening footsteps, "LOOK OUT!"
It took a lot of willpower not to snicker, instead watching as a maid came running in from nowhere, nearly running head first into a pillar. It would have seemed that the large stack of plates had rendered her blind.
Sebastian let out what sounded like an annoyed huff, while the other boy, Finny, ran over, "Do you need help, Mey-Rin?"
"Just fine, I am!" Mey-Rin said, backing away from the pillar with unsteady feet, before looking Erin over, "Eh? Who's this, Sebastian?"
Before Sebastian could say anything, Finny jumped in, "This is a guest, Sebastian said! Her name is…I'm sorry, miss; what is your name?"
"Erin, Erin Dust." Erin said, attempting to do some sort of bow, "A pleasure to make your acquaintance and all that nonsense."
Finny nodded, seeming oblivious to her additional comment, before grabbing her hand with a surprising amount of force, "I'm Finnian; but you can call me Finny!" He grinned, before rubbing the back of his head, "Of course, I'm pretty sure that you've picked that up already!"
Before Erin could reply, Sebastian herded her up the stairs, "I'm sorry, but the young master is expecting her soon. Make yourselves useful and continue on with your current duties."
The other two nodded, before rushing off once again. "Quite a bunch you've got here, Sebs." Erin said, smirking almost evilly.
Sebastian sighed, sounding like a deflated single parent that just wanted to take a break, "Come now, miss, follow me."
Erin mocked him behind his back, before following the tall butler up the stairs. Each hallway looked the same, but, thanks to a lot of experience with her…line of work; she easily mapped the place out in her head.
The butler finally came to a stop in front of a much grander door then the others, before knocking, "Young master? I've brought the girl."
All Erin heard was a low grunt, before Sebastian opened the door, ushering her in, before closing it behind her. Inside, the walls were lined with bookshelves, with a large window in the back of the room. In front of the window-for-a-wall was richy himself, sitting behind a mahogany desk.
He leaned forward, glaring right through her with his one good eye, before shooting a look over at Sebastian, "You're late. Dinner was supposed to have been made an hour ago."
"My apologizes, young master. I assumed that Baldroy would have at least prepared something." Sebastian said, seeming to mutter that last part under his breath, before bowing,, "I'll be right on it."
Once the butler left, the two teenagers stared each other down, almost waiting for the other to crack. Finally, the boy sighed, "Let's begin."
"Not like I had anything better to do or anything." Erin murmured, looking around for a chair, only to find books everywhere, "Seriously though, hurry it up, would ya? I kinda have a life to get back to and all that."
"Then I'll try to make this quick." He insisted, before standing. He kept his glare on his one eye, "I would like the chance to get to know you better, Erin."
Erin laughed, "Is that so? Maybe you want to start this interaction like a normal person and give me your name, richy?"
The boy's eye twitched, "I am the earl Phantomhive, you dirty London thug! You will call me by my name only, Ciel Phantomhive."
"Wow, it's such an honor to make your aquaintance, little earl." Erin chuckled, catching his glare, "Fine. Seal."
Ciel growled, before leaning back, "I am prepared to make a deal with you, Erin. I'd like to make you a job offer.."
"Sorry, but I'm gonna have to turn you down." She said with a yawn, looking around until she spotted the clock, "Look, I love what you do here and all that, but, next time ya wanna chat, just fucking call me up and ask like a real man."
"I am not asking you, Erin." Ciel growled, rubbing his forehead. She was giving him a headache.
Erin, wanting nothing more than a night's sleep, groaned to herself. There was only one real way out of this predicament, and toying with this kid wasn't really helping her much, "…Fine. I'll hear ya out; for now." Erin murmured, before taking a seat on his desk, "What do ya want from me?"
"I've looked into your reports, Erin," Ciel said, a smirk climbing onto his face, "You're not very popular, especially with the Ashford family."
Erin grinned wider, "Not my fault. Many people don't like me."
"But no one has yet to have gone through with a special force to hunt you down now, have they?" Ciel countered, "Now, for my deal: I would like you to work as my maid. From Monday to Friday, you'll follow every order, command, and demand. Granted, you will have a room here and, due to your "full-time job", you'll be given time off in the form of weekends, breaks and whatever else you feel you'll need."
"What's in it for me?" Erin couldn't help but ask, "And there must be some bigger reason for wanting someone like me here. I mean, I've met some of the staff, looks like you've got enough help."
"True." Ciel said, forcing a smile onto his face. Erin couldn't help but wonder if that's what she looked like at times, "For starters, I'll keep the Ashford unit off of your scent. I've seen there papers, Erin. They have quite the library of information on you and your speculated wearabouts."
"I can take them." She murmured, "I've been doing so for about four years now, and lemme tell ya, I'm pretty talented in the elusive department."
"While I seriously doubt that, that's not all I'm willing to offer." Ciel said, "Work for me, and I'll pay you more money than you can spend in this lifetime."
Erin was ready to tell him off, maybe even burn the place down when she left, only to stop. "How much money?"
Ciel smirked. He just had to play the right pieces. Once he took her into account, it was easy to read her. What did a gang lord want most? Money. "Billions."
Erin faced the shorter boy, sizing the young kid up. Now that she thought about it, that last name sounded familiar, most likely from the stories that have been floating around for years. He may have been a kid, but he meant business, she could tell.
They had a lot in common, so why not?
"Will it be fun?" Erin asked, holding out her hand.
Ciel smiled, reaching out to grasp her hand, shaking it, "More than you'd ever know."
Erin nodded, smiling her mischievous smile, "Alrighty then. I'll do it."
Ciel smirked back, "It's about time we've met eye-to-eye."
"Well, enjoy it while it lasts," Erin said, taking her hand away, before bowing, "My little earl."
Ciel growled, "Make no mistake, Ms. Dust, we are not colleagues of any sort. You work for me, and I expect you to act in such a manner. Now, I order you to treat me with respect."
"Sorry," Erin murmured, smiling as she rose, "I'll try, but I can't make promises."
Ciel gave her a knowing look, "That's bullshit."
"Yeah, can't help it, I'm a bit of a compulsive liar."
Ciel scowled, before standing up, "Sebastian, enter."
Erin turned around just in time to see Sebastian come in, rolling in a cart, "For dinner, we'll be having a poached salmon, with a fresh garden salad served with a simple ranch dressing." Sebastian said, introducing the food as he set it out of the table.
Erin got up, smirking widely at the butler, "So, butler boy, looks like you'll be stuck with me for a bit longer."
Sebastian gave her a look of loathing, before smiling, "Oh? Did she accept the deal, young master?"
Ciel nodded, "She managed to alter it as well." He grumbled, scowling off at something in the corner of his office.
Erin laughed as if she were among friends, before getting up, "Look, it's been nice seeing you two and all that jazz, but I've got a life to get back to. I mean, it's way past my bedtime, so, I'll just, you know, let myself out."
The two watched as she walked over to the door, "Oh," She said, right before closing the door behind her, "Next time, when you want me over, just fucking ask. Okay then, bye!" With that, she closed the door, laughing as she walked down to the hall.
The two look at the spot that she once was, before Ciel sighed, placing his head into his right hand, "I didn't expect her to be ladylike in the slightest, but I didn't think she'd be that...childishly crude either."
"While it isn't the best of situations, young master, I don't see a reason to dwell on it." Sebastian said, pouring Ciel some earl grey tea, before placing it down next to him on his desk, "I've seen her fight, she'll be a great addition. Besides, there's more than just her etiquette and fighting ability we have to look into now, isn't that right?""
"Yes, but couldn't the girl have had a bit more manners?" Ciel murmured, "I mean, she acts as if she were raised out of the slums!"
"Well, a girl like her could have had that background," Sebastian reasoned, "But, I have the slightest feeling that she has more to her then simply that."
Ciel scoffed, "A girl like her? Sebastian, she walks around like she owns the place, she acts as if she is God. With an ego like that, isn't a miracle that she hasn't been killed yet."
Erin groaned, having finally found her way back to the base. She knocked on the door, Thomas quickly opening it for her, "Welcome back, Dusty!" He grinned, before his expression fell into one of confusion, "Wait, didn't I greet you earlier?"
"Windows, Thomas." was all Erin managed, yawning as she messed up his hair, "Listen, don't let anyone into my room, okay? If anyone asks, I'm out at another meeting with the gang lords or something."
"Yes, ma'am!" Thomas said, saluting, before saying, "Zig is up there, but Fang went back out."
Erin sighed, "Well, Fang is a free spirit, I can't really keep him cooped up here now, can I?"
Thomas shook his head, waving as Erin lurched up the stairs. She didn't even acknowledge Zig as she walked in, instead choosing to fall flat onto her face.
"…What happened?" Zig asked, finally looking up at the leader when she noticed that Erin made no signs of talking.
When Erin didn't say anything, Zig began to panic.
Erin NEVER stopped talking.
"Is something wrong?" Zig asked, getting up, before poking Erin's arm, "Do you need medical help!?"
Again, nothing. Zig's breathing became heavy, before feeling her forehead, "…My God, are you dead?"
"I don't know, is this hell?" Erin groaned, looking up, before smashing her face back into the bed, "Yep, this is close enough."
"Well, what's wrong?" Zig asked, leaning forward as she waited.
"Well, long story short; butler boy made me meet richy." Erin groaned, getting back up, "Good news and bad news; what do you want first?"
"…Good news." Zig decided, bringing over her account book. Call her hopeful, but she was really hoping that "Good news" meant "Money".
"I got a job. Like, a legit job." Erin murmured, "Richy offered it."
Zig's eyebrow twitched, before sighing, holding her forehead, "So, let me see if I understand this. You, Erin Dust, the leader of the Phoenix gang, decided it would be a good idea to get another job that could very well not only become a problem with your first and foremost responsibility, but also make it easier for nobility, and in turn the Ash Heads, track you down?"
"I'm too tired to argue specific points, so yes. That's exactly what I did."
"If that's the good news, I'm not sure I wanna know the bad news." Zig groaned, rubbing her forehead, "Not only do you have a gang to run, but you also chose to accept a job from the likes of them! What were you thinking!?"
Erin growled, "Well, you were the one who said the gang needed more money. Not only am I working on that, but now you get to go ahead and run the gang when I'm not around. I fail to see why you're so irritated with this, you're basically getting everything you want in this scenario."
Zig groaned, sucking in a breathful of air, before exhaling slowly. She gave the tired Erin a look, thinking her words out first, before starting, "…Look, Erin, all I'm saying is that you need to think this through. You'll be near the likes of them, and I know how much-."
"I'm very aware of the fact that I hate the rich people of this land," Erin sighed, rubbing her forehead, "But this isn't about me, it's for them."
Zig shook her head, standing up, "…You're such a hard person to understand, Erin."
Erin smirked, before leaning back, snuggling up under the covers, "Well, I can't allow myself to be as boring as everyone else, right?" She murmured, before her eyes fluttered shut.
Zig sighed, as Erin's breath became softer, "I only hope that you think it all through first, Erin. You're not God, you can't put everything on your shoulders and expect yourself to do it all. One day, you'll see that, and I can only pray that I'll be around when that happens. I pray that someone will save you, just as you've done for so many others."
With that said, Zig walked over to the table, blowing out the only candle, before going back to her bed. She made sure to draw the blinds over the window, before curling up on her own bed, yawning as she too slowly fell asleep.
