I had time to update so it's here. Please enjoy!
Prussia was on the Hogwarts express, staring out of the window. In front of him was another teacher who seemed to be fast asleep. Professor R.J Lupin he read which was stamped across one of the corners of the battered case on the luggage rack above the man's head. I wonder if he's poor. Prussia thought checking out the man's shabby set of clothes. Well I guess it's none of my business.
He blindly thought of England who had been quite paranoid the past week. "You cannot allow anyone, anyone to know that you're a nation." England said frantically over the phone. "I know I know. Trust me a little will you?" Prussia sighed over. "Stop breathing on the phone! The noise that travels over here is terrible." England mumbled obviously irritated. "Should I bring a potato chip bag?" Prussia said seriously. "Please don't." England said exasperated. "I'll be fine. I've got everything ready just as you told me, and all records about me have been deleted decades ago. You know that." "I do," England replied, "But I just can't help but worry about the consequences when words go out." "Then don't. Listen I know you're worried about the damages you'd suffer if war breaks out again. I know how much the first wizarding war hurt you. I can't assure you that I'll be able to stop the war from happening, but if there is one thing I can assure you is that I'll try to help you in any way possible to prevent the worst scenario." The phone was silent for a while.
Prussia thought about saying something more when the silence started to be unbearable. But his thoughts was quickly interrupted when England mumbled, "I thought you like wars. What's in this for you?" Prussia stood surprised for a second, thinking about what was in it for him. But he quickly stopped thinking. "Am I not allowed to help a friend? Yes I did like wars, I liked it until it changed into a massive killing ground and not friendly fights and spats. You know how WW1 was like. Every nation bloody and hurt. That's definetely not what I want to see anymore. Nobody was smiling at that time." He paused for a second continuing now cheerfully, "And I like teaching anyways. Like I told you I have free time, and I was bored! The awesome me will be fine! Trust me! Oh and I also get black mail material for France and Spain. Kesesesese" he laughed at the end. It sounded a little strained even to himself, but he knew it would probably be enough to convince England. Always the drama queen, he thought. And god this is embarrassing.
"Thanks," England muttered who was obviously trying to hide his embarrassment on the other side. "No problem, see you soon Arthur." Prussia said as he cut the phone call.
He was blindly thinking how cheesy and embarrassing he was and a little down or un-awesome when he heard something on the other side of door. That must be Harry Potter, and his friends I guess. He thought as they opened the door and peeked inside. "Um, would you mind if we come in?" a red headed boy asked. Prussia shrugged and gestured them to come in. They came in, then placed their stuff on the luggage rack. They sat down awkwardly and Prussia cocked his head in question. Why are they… ahh. "My name is Gilbert Beilschmidt and I'm the new history teacher for this year. I'll be teaching all grades." Prussia said with a smile, trying to make the atmosphere a little lighter. He saw the eyes of the three widen in surprise, and Gilbert felt a little amused by their reaction. "And you guys are?" he asked. "My name is Hermione Granger, this is Ron Weasly and he's Harry Potter." The girl said, as she pointed each boy in turn. "I see," Prussia said as he nodded towards their introductions.
"Aren't you a little young to be a teacher?" Ron blurted out, which resulted in a slap from Hermione and a harsh whisper about how that was rude. Prussia laughed, shaking his head. "No, it's a good question. First, I'm a genius. I have a lot of knowledge, enough to be history teacher." Prussia said smugly, "Second, I had a few experiences in teaching. I've taught some people, not in a class but a homeschooler I guess." He said as he shrugged.
"May I ask what happened to Professor Binns?" Hermione asked. "I don't know what happened to the previous teacher. The post was open, that's why I took it." Prussia said nonchalantly shrugging. "I actually don't know who you're talking about anyways."
"Professor Binns had been our history teacher for the past two years. He's a ghost, but he's still… or was our teacher." Hermione explained. "I see. Did you like the dude?" Prussia asked smirking, already guessing the answer rom Ron and Harry's reactions. "He wasn't that bad," Hermione said as she also looked at the expressions the two had. "Are you kidding me? There wasn't a class I hadn't slept." Ron said rolling his eyes. "That's not something to brag about Ron!" Hermione said with another slap.
She reminds me of Hungary. Prussia thought. Except this one seems smarter. He smirked at his thoughts but it quickly turned into a frown, as he thought how she'd kill him if she'd ever found out he just thought of that. Ugh hate that frying pan. He thought.
"Do you know the man in front of you Professor Beilschmidt?" Harry asked, curious if they were friends. Prussia snorted then said, "I just met him here, but he was already asleep when I came in. Hadn't talked to him yet. His name is Professor R.J Lupin though." "How do you know that?" Ron asked. Prussia simply pointed up in answer. The three seemed to understand when they saw the case above Lupin's head, and seemed satisfied with his answer.
The three still seemed to be uneasy even though they all finished introductions. Prussia didn't think he was intimidating at this point so he was curious to what the problem was. "Are you guys alright? You didn't do something bad already have you?" he joked. "No sir, it's just. It's nothing sir." Harry said, as he fidgeted a little in his seat. Prussia arched an eyebrow in question but decided to not press him for answers and stood up. "Finish up your little talk in 10 minutes. I'll probably be back from the bathroom by then." He said as he looked down on the three and left the compartment.
He used the small bathroom to wash up a little. It hadn't took him long to finish using it, but he had promised the kids 10 minutes so he lingered for a while before returning. "I don't go looking for trouble, trouble usually finds me.*" He heard Harry say, as he opened the door to the compartment. "Enjoyed your talk?" Prussia asked with a sneer. Harry frowned a little and said, "I guess so,"
To Harry, with his appearance and way of speech, Professor Beilschmidt reminded him a little bit of Malfoy and he didn't like the teacher at this point. Ron had similar thoughts about him while Hermione was thinking of something completely different. He's albino right? But he seems to be fine in the sun… I wonder if he's half magical creature or something. Maybe I should go to the library when I get to school. Deep in her thoughts, Hermione was staring at Prussia although her consciousness was elsewhere.
"I know I'm cool, but I even the awesome me gets nervous when he's obviously checked out." Prussia said with a smug smile on his face. That snapped Hermione out of her thoughts, and she turned bright red at his words. Prussia laughed boisterously at her reaction. Children are just fun. He thought trying to stop his laughter but failing. "I'm only joking," Prussia said still snickering. "I know you're just thinking of my eyes and hair. Rare right?" he was wiping small tears from his eyes.
"Y-yes." Hermione answered, her face becoming all red. "I just thought, if you're albino why isn't the sunlight hurting you?"
"Truthfully I have no idea." Prussia answered, "Ya know I was just born this way. Can't complain about it." He said as he waved his hand casually. Harry and Ron seemed disturbed about the whole conversation. "He speaks like a Yank, don't you think?" Ron whispered to Harry as the two talked on. "I don't know. Never met a Yank." Harry whispered back.
"Hey, I forgot to ask you. What grade are you in?" Prussia asked Hermione. "We're in 3rd grade this year." Ron replied before Hermione had the chance to answer. "Is there something you're looking forward to?" Prussia asked this time to Ron with a small smile on his face. He's jealous isn't he? Prussia thought. He was amused about how Ron and Harry, but mostly Ron was protective of their friend.
"Hogsmeade," Hermione and Ron simultaneously answered. "There's this sweets shop called Honeydukes where they've got everything." Ron started. Hermione was also starting a little speech of her own about the historical aspects of Hogsmeade. Prussia was listening blankly since he didn't think either speech was that interesting, so he glanced at Harry, only to see him looking a little down.
"You're not interested in Hogsmeade?" Prussia asked. "No, I'm interested. But my parents didn't sign the form so I can't go." Harry sighed and that snapped the two off of their continuous talking. "You're not allowed to come? But- no way- McGonagall or someone would give you permission―" Ron said horrified.* "I'm not giving you permission," Prussia said before Ron had the chance to ask him. "I'm not your guardian." Prussia said a little seriousness creeping into his voice. Ron shivered a little at the man's sudden change in attitude.
"But," Prussia smirked. "Maybe I can ask the teachers to let you out sometime as my…. assistant to help me get supplies I need in my class." Ron and Harry had ecstatic expressions the moment they heard him utter those words. "Really―" Harry started but Prussia put his hand up and said, "Hold up, I'm not promising you anything, I just said I'll try. But it depends on why you couldn't get that signature. If you're guardians told you that you couldn't go due to safety reasons or some such then no I can't help you." Prussia said as he gestured for an explanation.
He knew Harry had abusive guardians since he heard all about it from England, but he wanted to know for sure. I can't get in trouble after all. Prussia thought reminding himself of what he promised England. Harry explained how he had his guardians promised him that they'd sign the paper if he stayed put during Aunt Marge's visit. And how he ended up blowing her in the end.
Prussia was laughing hysterically at the end of the story, wiping tears from his eyes. "Alright, I'll try to ask the other teachers to let you come under my watch. I wouldn't say that was good enough of a reason, but you gave me good laugh." He said when the door to the compartment opened. They were all greeted by the plump witch bringing the food trolley.
"Hey dude," Prussia said as he lightly slapped the Lupin in the arm. "The food trolley's here." But Lupin gave no sign of waking up. "It's alright dear, I'll be in the front with the driver if he's hungry." The witch said* as she closed the door.
They 4 kept talking for a while when the rain started to get stronger. The rain and winds were creating loud sounds, but Lupin still hasn't woken up. Must be an extremely heavy sleeper. Prussia thought, as he felt the train slow down.
Ron and Hermione were speaking at the back, but Prussia heard nothing as he felt cold. He felt piercing fear, he hadn't felt anything since… Oh mein gott nein. Prussia thought his thoughts starting to scramble. Lupin finally seemed to wake up, but Prussia noticed nothing as he simply clutched at his arms and shivered in his seat. "Professor? Are you all right?" he heard someone calling to him but he didn't know who.
-NO DON'T YOU CAN'T!
