Hi guys. Just a side note...you guys are mean. All I asked for was 58 reviews, that's all. But do I get them? NOPE! Whatever. Is it that hard to say "this is a great story" and press review? Gosh.. Well, here is chapter 14, written without love. And song you should here is Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace
CASSIDY'S POV
I pulled away from the hug. I wiped my eyes and straightened out my clothes. I took a few deep breathes and offered a small smile to Joe.
"If you tell anyone I cried just now, I will shave off one of your eyebrows and write the word "loser" in its place, got it?" I said with a joking tone. He smiled at me, "You're back to normal already".
"So...where exactly are we?" I asked, looking around again.
"I don't know, but I think we are still in New York" he answered.
"Where do you get that idea?" He smiled at me "Come on, you can tell when someone is from NY."
I nodded in agreement. "So...you look different." I said gesturing at him. "Yeah, wherever we are, they have a training room, and I have nothing else to do besides..." he shivered "...read" I just rolled my eyes at him.
"Ah.." was all I said. I didn't really notice it when we started talking, but I fell like there is something in between me and my little brother...and I don't know what was worse. The fact that I hadn't noticed it until now, or the fact that my little brother is really different.
"Are you okay Cas?" he asked delicately, like I was fragile. Since when did he talk to me that way? All of our lives, I've been the tough one...
"uh...yeah, I'm good."
"You sure, because-" suddenly, the double doors opened behind his back, and I spinned him around.
AMBER'S POV
After a while of talking *cough cough arguing*, we finally just decided to go around the city and look for anything suspicious. "So, where should we start?" Ava asked. I honestly didn't have an idea. I glanced at Nico, who looked...sleeping. I smacked his arm, and he opened his eyes immediately. We were sitting on the couches in mine and Ava's room. Anyway, Nico glared at me. Ava repeated her question. After thinking a while, Nico spoke up "Lets start in Albany,". I looked at him questioningly.
"Why?" I said. Why should he get to decide where we go?
He scowled at me "Because..." he said, his voice dangerously low, "You didn't offer anything and its the capitol of New York" I didn't have anything to say to that. Yesterday, we decided to get to know each other, and Nico kind of decided he hated us. At least, that's how he acts. I don't know, maybe he secretly wants to have a pillow fight in our pj's later? Yep...because that's totally what he wants to do.
NICO'S POV
I was kind of pissed. We had no idea where to start looking. I had no idea why I was on this lame quest, for someone I don't like. We had no idea what we were gonna do. I had no idea why I was on this freakin quest. I sighed. We decided to pack our things, and get up early tomorrow morning and head to Albany. Fun. As I was packing, I started thinking about the last time I saw Cassidy. She had punched me in the throat. What. A. Charmer. I don't know what thought I saw in that girl. I finished packing and climbed into bed. Today, sleep came easily.
THIRD PERSON'S POV
The doors opened, and in stepped a woman wearing a black dress that said she had power. A man also walked in, holding hands with the lady. He had upturned eyebrows and a crooked smile. His hair was like salt and pepper. Cassidy recognized him as Hermes. Joseph took a slight bow to them, and Cassidy was shocked. Why would he do that? To a man who abandoned us? Cassidy knew she should've bowed down as well, but she refused. Her rebellious side just wouldn't allow it. Nope, so not happening.
"Well, she does get that from her mother, doesn't she?" The woman, whom Cassidy thought looked really familiar said to Hermes, as if she wasn't right there. Immediately, Cas felt anger, the chaotic kind. Where you're aren't exactly thinking strait.
"What the hell...are you two...doing here?' she demanded through gritted teeth.
The woman frowned, but Cassidy wasn't sure why. After all, she had a right to know what she was doing in a room with her "dead" brother, her "father", and her kidnapper.
"Now...do you speak to your mother with that tone?" the woman asked.
"I don't have a mother... or a mom, or someone to call Mum or Mama or any crap like that. And you" She said, turning on Hermes "...what are you here for? You've never cared about me before, so why the hell now?" She was seething, and Joseph put a hand on her shoulder. "Cassidy...not now" At this, Cassidy wasn't sure whether or not to back-hand him across his face, or scream at the adult before her. She decided against both. She didn't say anything else.
"Cassidy. I know you are angry with me. I know you think that I abandoned you-"
"You did" she couldn't help it, she had to say it. He continued as if she hadn't said anything.
"...but it wasn't my choice. Zeus forbid the gods from seeing there children. But, that didn't stop your mother from watching over you."
"If I recall correctly, which I do, we didn't have a mother. We had Lauren,a drunk who, if sober, probably would've killed us eventually." Cassidy spit out.
"No, you do have a mother. And she is in this room." Hermes said smoothly, as if talking about the weather. I froze. The only other woman in here is my kidnapper.
"Cassidy, I am Nyx," at the sound of her name, the air grew cold. " I was born out of chaos and feared by Kronos himself. I'm even older that the titans. I am the mother of many things. Sleep...Death...and many monsters. You are my only daughter who is also a descendent of the gods." she paused and looked at me with a evil grin. " Hello, daughter mine"
