Chapter 15

Disclaimer: I don't PJO, unfortunately. Or any bands I mention.

Well, dat last chapta doe. Anyway, sorry I haven't been around for a long time. But thanks for not sending me mean reviews telling me to hurry up or anything like that. I was recently in a musical and it's finals week and life if hard sometimes. Sometimes, you just wanna stop growing up and become a burrito...man, does anyone NOT love Mexican food? Great...now I'm hungry. Anyway, song suggestion Bittersweet by Panic! At The Disco. See ya guys!

CASSIDY'S POV

I couldn't speak. Or move. Or function really. I know it's sounds cheesy, but it's like time itself stopped. I laughed mentally. To think, instead of caring for her children, Nyx dropped us off at a drunk's house from the beginning.

"Not true" said Nyx. I glanced at her. I gave her a questioning look. I was going to ask her what she meant, but there was no way in hell I would talk to this...thing.

"How rude. But, since you seem to be in denial, I will dismiss it" she added "for now."

I gave my father a glare, and stared at my feet.

"Now, I suppose you have a lot of questions, but save them until I'm done. Now, let's start from the beginning shall we. But, uh. Let's go somewhere else." With that, she walked out of the room. Hermes followed her like a puppy following it's owner. At least, that's how it looked to me, a teenage girl in denial about...well, everything. Joseph soon followed, but I stayed rooted in my spot. After walking a couple feet, Hermes turned towards me.

"I know I can't make you follow, but just know, you'll never know what really happened it you stay there" he answered. With that, he left. Joe looked at me, and walked out...wait, what? He would never do that. We always agreed on everything. I decided I would follow, reluctantly, might I add.

NICO'S POV

We were getting no where. And I do mean no where. We were so far no where, we were there. Kidding, in case you didn't catch it. After a while, we decided to eat lunch. Ava and Amber chatted away... hmph. Chicks. I put my headphones in and started listening to Five Finger Death Punch's Anywhere But Here. Suddenly, I got a tingling sensation behind my head. I nonchalantly turned my head, pretending to scratch my neck on my shoulder. I scanned the crowd, and someone caught my eye. It was a man, probably in his mid 30's. He had tan skin and shaggy black hair. He looked normal enough, until red flashed across his eyes. I knew it. It was one of my dads messengers. It was a demon. He sent them to me every now and then to tell me something, usually important. Great. I turned towards the girls.

"I'll be right back" I said in a low voice. They gave me weird looks, shrugged and went back to talking about...whatever they were talking about. Don't judge me. I casually got up a walked over to the booth it was sitting at. I sat down across from it. It gave me a wicked smirk.

"Your father says you need to head about 13 miles northwest of here. Somewhere around there, you'll find an old building. It'll be pretty large. Oh, and he wanted me to give you these" He handed me 4 coins. "You flip 'em. Heads gets you where you wanna go. Tails, takes you anywhere random in the world, except the place you wanna go."

"Couldn't my dad make anything simple?" I ask to myself. It just smirked and walked away. I blinked and he was gone. I looked down at the coins. They were ancient Greek coins. I walked back over to the girls.

"We need to go" I said and I walked out of the door. The girls quickly gathered their belongings and followed me out, before they could even bite into their food.

CASSIDY'S POV

Once we were seated at a large dinning table, Nyx started talking.

"Well then, I suppose I should start from the beginning. Hermes and I didn't plan on having children but when we looked each other in the eyes, we knew tha-"

"Okay! You can skip that part" I said, annoyed. Nyx glared, but continued.

"Anyway, when Cassidy was born Hermes and I knew we had to keep you secret. And just our luck, later we had you, Joseph..." she was going to continue, but I cut her off.

"Just for your luck?" I asked viciously, grinding my teeth together. I exploded

"JOSEPH IS NOT AND NEVER WILL BE A MISTAKE JUST BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T WANT HIM!"

"We never said we didn't-"

"I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAID OR HAVEN'T SAID. JOSEPH IS THE ONLY FRIEND I'VE EVER HAD! AND WHEN YOU..." I spit the words out, with venom dripping from my lips "...DECIDED TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE...LiKe..." my voice was cracking. "like he was dead?" before any of the tears could fall, I got up and stormed out of the room.

"Wait! Cas!" I heard Joseph call for me. But I didn't listen. I didn't know where I was going, but I knew I had to get away from my 'family'.

AMBER'S POV

Nico told us what the demon told him. Since we didn't have any better options, we headed northwest (A/N:like that baby). We took a cab, but halfway there it broke down. The guy said we could wait for the tow truck, or walk to the nearest town, which was only a mile and a half away. He didn't charge us, seeing as...well ya know. We grabbed our bags and started walking. Out of habit, Nico put his headphones in. I rolled my eyes. Ava and I walked in comfortable silence. I guess we were both kind of lost in thought. I couldn't help but wonder why we were the ones who were assigned the quest. I mean, none of us really knew each other that well, so why us? After about 15 minutes of walking, we entered the...town? It was the crappiest looking town I'd ever seen. All of the building had chipped paint, trash was everywhere. I couldn't even find a sign with the name on it.

"That's weird. The cabbie said a mile and a half, that at least another 15 minutes of walking."

"Well, I guess he was wrong." I glanced over at Nico. He looked tensed up, ready for a fight, almost. I scanned the area, but I didn't see anything weird, but I could smell something. It was...food. Good food. I realized I hadn't eaten since breakfast, since a certain butt face made us skip lunch.

"Sorry Nico" I said blankly.

He gave raised an eyebrow "For what?"

"Calling you a butt face in my head" I gave him a wicked grin and started to look for a fast food place. I swear I saw him flip me off out of the corner of my eye.
