Disclaimer: I do not own PJO or any of it's characters, just my characters and plot.

Hello my pretties!1 I know it's been while, but thank you all for your support. I just got back from a camping trip, so it's been kinda crazy. So, song for this chapta is Bad Romance (Cover) by Halestorm. It's a great cover, you guys should really listen to it. Anyway, I'm kinda of having writers block right now, so if you could maybe PM with ideas/suggestions that would be great. Here is chapter 16 of Death's Prankster.

CASSIDY'S POV

I had no clue where I was. I had been walking for about 10 minutes, wandering aimlessly. I had cooled down long before that though. I wanted to be mad still, to scream and yell at them for being terrible parents. But I was just tired. Tired of being treated like crap. Tired of not knowing what was going on. Tired. So tired. Before I knew, I had wondered in front of a small door. I reached out for the handle and turned it. With, a soft click, it opened. I slowly pushed on the door, and gasped at what I saw inside. All of the walls were covered in pictures of...of...of me and my family. There was one of me and Joseph when wearound 4 and 5. We were sitting in the laps of none other than Hermes and Nyx. But, that would've been impossible, because we were with Lauren (our mother-ish thing) at that time.

"Actually, you weren't." said a voice from behind me. I whipped around me, only to see Hermes. I raised an eyebrow, suggesting that he go on.

"You see, because Nyx is a very powerful, and very chaotic...creature. You have many of your mothers characteristics, and one of them is her tempter. When you are around her, you become easier to manipulate when it comes to temper and self-control. So, I figure, it will be easier to explain things to you without her here." He looked at me with a dazed expression, and if he was thinking about the past. I looked down at my shoes.

"Look...I...I'm sorry about running out like that, but you have to realize, the way she worded it, it just..." I sighed. "You both need to realize that Joseph is my only real friend. He's the only one who has always been there for me. He made me love life, when I considered...well...ending mine." Hermes' eyes widened. "Yeah..." I gave a slight laugh, thinking about how pathetic I was "...I came close to killing myself a few times. Of course, I knew deep down, I couldn't actually end my life. Joseph would be left with no one...and...and I couldn't...couldn't do that t...to him" I didn't even realize I was crying until I saw the tears fall towards me feet. I glanced up at Hermes sadly. He smiled at me with an apologetic look, and opened his arms, offering a hug. I debated whether or not to hug him, but in the end, I knew I needed it. I walked into his warm embrace. It was slightly awkward, but then again, we've barely talked before, much less had any kind of physically interaction.

"I'm so pathetic" I though to myself.

"No you are not. Don't ever say that again." I didn't realize I had said that out loud.

"Look Cassidy..." he held me at arms length. "...I've been watching over you since I left you with Lauren, and I know you can't handle your feelings well. I know what a burden you've been carrying on your shoulders, and I know, just how much Joe means to you. I know how many people you've threatened over Joseph's safety," he chuckled slightly, and a small smirk found its way my face. So, he has been making sure I was okay. This was kind of hard for me to take in. As he said before, I didn't handle my feelings very well. But I was so grateful towards Hermes. I went in for another hug. Softly, I mumbled "Thanks...dad.

NICO'S POV

After looking around the town, we found the source that the smell of food was coming from. It was an old Mexican shop. I opened the door for the girls, and followed them in. Ava turned around and said "Wow, Nico, had no idea you were such a gentlemen." I glared at her and she widened her eyes, and she turned back around. Man, it's like, I get that I'm a son of Hades and all, but why were people so frickin rude? I looked around the little shop. It looked normal enough, but I didn't feel right and I decided to voice my thoughts.

"Oh, relax Nico. We're fine. Now, let's go order" said Amber. But...I still didn't feel right. We all walked up to the counter, when a plump, short lady was waiting for us.

"Hello! What can I get you today?" He said, her voice sickly sweet. Something in my gut was stirring.

"Um...I'll have 2 beef tacos please."

"And I'll have a California burrito please." After Ava gave her order, she turned towards me.

"And um..I'll have...a steak burrito with a side of rice." I said, finally.

"Ooh...I'm sorry dears. But we are completely out of tortillas, and our meat is totally gone." once she said this, she turned around and started walking away.

"Wait, how could you be out of food. Seriously, how many customers could you possibly have?" Nico shouted back at the woman. She stopped short and turned around.

"Well, you see, child, why would I cook more food, if I could just eat you instead?"
