A/N: Wow. It's been a terribly long two months now hasn't it? Sorry about that my lovely readers. I was so caught up with my summer project and luckily, it looks great! However, I've started school recently- 7th of September Dx Year 11 is a pain! Not only is it as boring as hell, the school decided to change the timetables and everything. Now, instead of five lessons a day lasting one hour, we have six lessons a day that lasts fifty five minutes! You can understand why I'm knackered right? At least maths is fun now. I have a badass teacher who know's how to TEACH properly. Well, properly enough for me to pay attention. The sky was full of wisps of dark clouds, keeping any source of light in the sky ambiguous. The wind was howling at an icy temperature and the bare trees shook in sync with the howling wind. Inside a specific room, the clock was ticking, displaying the time as nine in the evening.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap.
"Tails? Teirusu-San?" The fox boy was instantly snapped out of his trance of drumming the pencil on the table. He turned to the direction of the door only for his face to greet a familiar face.
"Eheh...Konbanwa, Cream." He lit up with a delighted smile.
"Chao!"
"And Cheese," He giggled as the little chao darted towards him and nuzzled his chest. At least it was better than appearing randomly in someone's face causing them to almost be scared to death. It never ceased to to work on Sonic though.
"Ne...Tails," Cream's inviting smile was now gone as she approached Tails and his desk. "Don't you think you should have a bit of rest? You haven't eaten very well for the past few days and-" Tails spotted her pale cheeks flushing for a bit as she hesitated "I don't mean to be very rude, ano...I can tell you haven't been sleeping well. You have bags under your eyes. They look horrible." Cheese chimed in with a 'chao' as if he was agreeing with her.
Tails scratched the back of his head and sweat dropped animatedly. His little mouth turned into a lopsided bashful smile.
"Ahah, Cream, doudemoii, I'll be okay. Besides, any reason you decided to drop by my humble abode at this time?" Tails eyed at her cheekily; a trait he probably picked up from Sonic. Cream blushed in response and held one hand to her cheek.
"Was I intruding? I'm so sorry!" Tails' blue eyes widened as he shook his head quickly. The last thing he wanted was Cream to be upset at such a small reason.
"Iie! Iie! Cream, ware," He pointed to the pencil he was holding on "I was just thinking of a way to get Eggman out of the way for a while. You actually came at the right time." He put one hand on her shoulder to assure her.
"O-ohhh? Okay," The smile he adored so much was back on her face. The familiar heat rose inside his stomach again causing his body to tingle and fidget slightly. Despite having an IQ of 300, even the boy genius couldn't figure out why this always happens when Cream is around.
"Before we start on that, Mama was worried about you. You're staying all alone in the workshop, working and not eating properly. I decided to make dinner for you, if that's okay?" Tails couldn't believe his luck. Not only will he be guaranteed with some great tasting food, he has a reason to have Cream around too. A simple nod was all that was needed for Cream to know he accepted her offer.
"Shai," Both Cream and Cheese beamed with an eager smile as they held Tails' hand to lead him out of the room.
"I recently learned how to make this really delicious Italian recipe that Emi-San makes sometimes."
"Ooh? Which one? Knowing Emi-San, she makes a variety of different food, especially pasta dishes." He was drooling inwardly at the thoughts of Emi's cooking. Especially desserts. If she wasn't too busy fighting on their side against Eggman, she'd probably be a master chef of some sort and maybe have a chain of restaurants global wise.
"I can't pronounce it really well. The pasta itself is a like a huge tube and it's filled with ricotta, spinach and lots of nice vegetables. I think it's called, ca...cano...cani-"
"Cannelloni? You learnt how to make cannelloni?"
"Mochiron~" Cheese chimed in with her sing-song voice with a 'chao!' as well. With newly found excitement, Tails' gripped Cream's hand tighter and they both ran down the stairs and headed towards the kitchen for a soon to be made dinner.
The sky cleared up of its clouds allowing the albino crescent of the moon, to shine down it's ghostly white aura in Tails' room through the window. On the desk, on the corner of a blueprint, you could see a pencil drawn doodle. A doodle of a hedgehog and fox, laughing with ice cream cones in their hands.

"Eugh...kuso..." Eggman gripped onto the pack of ice that was resting on the big bump on his forehead. This was done by none other than the Sonic Team, well, half of the Sonic Team since the other half seems to be missing! Despite that, his diabolical action of trying to beat the team today failed, again! This though, instead of getting tired out like he hoped they would, they seemed to get more and more irritated at him. It's like he's a pesky wasp that's very persistent and wouldn't bug off! How humiliating.
"For three days...three days that the stupid rat and his band of rats have been gone!" He banged his fist against the desk. However, he retracted back and whined about his throbbing hand since he underestimated his true strength. "If he's on a so called important mission, why didn't he take the stupid fox or echidna along with him?"
If a light switch was above Eggman's head, it'd be switched on now because a sudden realisation dawned on him. Something was fishy, very fishy indeed.
"Orbot! Cubot! Get that stinking can of tuna out of my sight you miserable bunch of junk!" The robot duo shivered visibly at Eggman's roar along.
"Hai! Eggman-Sama!" With Herculean speed, they picked up the stinky tuna can and dashed away for it to be disposed.
Eggman snorted at them and sat down once again to continue his thoughts.
'Now lets see. According to what the two tailed freak told me: Sonic, Amy Rose, Shadow and Silver are off to fight a supposed better villain than me. That's a very peculiar team shikashi it's a very good team indeed. They all have a variety of different strengths.' Eggman then paused his trail of thoughts and furrowed his brow. 'It's usually Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles that band together though. The blue brat hardly ever leaves Tails on his own.'
A visible sweat trailed down the doctor's forehead as he started to dwell deeper into his thoughts. 'Why on earth is Shadow involved in this in the first place? If it's so serious, I should've been one of the first few to know what's going on! The only reasons he would join in something like that is if a chaos emerald is involved. Last time I checked, the chaos emeralds are right-'
"MATTE!" Eggman dashed towards a small gadget and entered in the password before typing in a few codes and flipping through different things. Finally, he switched the chaos energy locator on and waited for a moment. Usually, with the invention, he's able to detect at least a fraction of the chaos energy that comes from the emeralds. It would've made a difference on making his job much easier if only Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles didn't have a keen institute though. It's like they're a walking talking chaos emerald detector themselves.
A couple more minutes passed and Eggman started to get frustrated. He should've got at least an indicator or measurement of the chaos energy around his area.
"Odd...it's like they're not even on this planet!" Eggman growled out. He supposed that the machine was broken- again, and decided to switch it to the chaos energy reading mode. He hummed in patience as the neon dashes flashed.
"BEEP! BEEP! CHAOS ENERGY LEVELS: ZERO PERCENT. CHAOS ENERGY LEVELS: ZERO PERCENT."
If only there was a camera nearby, Eggman's gobsmacked face would've been captured instantly due to its humorousness and how bizarre he looked.
FLASH!
Oh wait, Orbot and Cubot have already done it with the most cheekiest antic a robot could ever have. Luckily for them, Eggman was too into his shock to notice his minions just messing about. The photo may probably go viral.
"It's...no, no, NO! FUKENAE!" Eggman re-ran the scan only to achieve the same results. In his frustration, he tugged onto his mustache pretty hard and yelped in pain as he managed to pull of a few strands of hair. "This can only mean one thing-" He faced Orbot and Cubot making them stiffen in their position and hide the photos behind their backs.
"Nani?" Cubot asked rather bravely. Orbot added a little nod to show his curiousity.
"The chaos emerald...all seven of them...
...are gone."

"Erm...okay? But what's with the spooky face sir?"
"Yeah, it's quite irrelevant and judging on the situation by hand, I believe tha-"
"Yakamashii bakayaro!" The robot duos were silenced by the admonishing tone of their master. "Seriously, I cannot think with your constant yammering! Go get me a tuna sandwich and make it fast!" Orbot and Cubot blinked. "GO NOW! BEFORE I TURN YOU BOTH INTO A PILE OF NUTS AND BOLTS!" There was nothing but a smoke of air in the shape of their forms indicating that they took off at a frightening pace.
Eggman sat back down on his chair and dived back to his thoughts as well. 'Now that I think about it, the hedgehogs might be searching for these emerald. But, if the emeralds are now longer in this world, then,'
Eggman's glasses gleamed for a moment and his mouth twisted into a wry grin. A grin that could make you feel like the smallest thing in the world. A grin that looks as deadly as ever. A grin that makes you want to cry for your mother. A grin that makes you think if Eggman's a devil in disguise.
"Ho, ho, ho...Ho! Ho! Ho! ... HO! HO! HO! HA! HA! HA! HA!" The malicious doctor smacked his hands together and his teeth gnashed together in glee. "Oh why haven't I thought of this before? A clear genius like me should've been able to guess it right first time round! Mwa! Ha! Ha!"
"Eggman-Sama! Your sandwich." Cubot offered as both he and Orbot entered the room however, Eggman had other plans and smacked the plate out of his hands.
"No no-oooo my little minions! We are gonna have a party! A PARTY! Make PARTY food you imbeciles! Tonight, I shall celebrate my victory in destroying Sonic in advance! Oh-ho-ho-ho-ho!"
Goodness knows, what's in the mad cow's mind.

"Rosy-yyy! Please come out of there. Let me help you." Amy knocked on the locked door for the umpteenth time but, just like the past two hours, the door remained locked and the sound of objects breaking and screaming was heard on the other side of the room. If Rosy was an ordinary Mobian, then Amy and the others would've kicked the door down and calm the girl. Unfortunately, doing so could end up being a fatal move for all of them because she's NOT normal.
Sonic lowered his eyes in pity as he watched Amy's futile attempts on bringing Rosy out. The girl had so much sympathy and was determined to help everyone with no gains out of it. He leaned off the wall and placed a hand on Amy's shoulder with a frown. "Ames, she's not gonna listen to any of us. Just come, you need to rest."
"No. I'm fine Sonic but Rosy isn't. She needs to treat that bite mark on her neck otherwise she'll get lightheaded and maybe faint. I ju-" Sonic cut her off with a groan.
"For Chaos' sake Amy, didn't you hear what Kintobor said? It's a phase and it isn't the first time it happened either. She'll be fine, she's gone through much worse scrapes and cuts and injuries." His face softened at Amy's lowered head. "You need looking after too ya know." If the situation was different, Amy would've squealed and cooed at Sonic's acknowledgement; she was too concerned for Rosy and the outcomes of the dirty mark Scourge gave her.
"I don't need rest Sonic. I'm not TIRED!" She protested childishly and puffed out one of her cheeks. Sonic chuckled at her antics and tugged on her wrists. "Hey! I said-"
"I heard what you said but that didn't mean I'll listen." Amy scoffed at his smug remark. A hammer would've been shoved down his throat if it weren't for the fact that she was enjoying the heat transfer between his touch on her wrists.
"So-ooooonic!" Amy switched to her whiny demeanor "Rosy is hurt." Sonic only gripped on her wrists tighter and began to lead her out of the hallway.
"Don't worry," He winked "Kintobor will handle it." The minute he said those words, a pair of glasses flashed in the corner catching Amy off guard.
"He's right Miss Rose, only I can handle Rosy's little tantrums." Sonic nodded at Kintobor and the good guardian walked towards the direction of Rosy's room in the HQ.
"Are you hungry? I know I am!" He didn't even give Amy a chance to reply as he scooped her in his arms and dashed away to the dining room.
Kintobor looked at Rosy's door with melancholy visible on his face.
"Rosy dear, may I come in?" The crashing and screaming muted and a little shuffle was heard on the other side of the door. Rosy opened the door with tears staining her face and blood oozing out of her neck and dying her clothes. To others, she'd look like a savage, a criminal of some sort but to Kintobor, she looks nothing more than a young child who's confused of the world and has true innocence.
"K-Kintobor?" Before he knew it, her eyes watered again and she wrapped her arms around his torso burying her face into his stomach silently.
Kintobor gasped and hesitantly let his fatherly instincts take over. For the first time ever, they shared an embrace. A bond that could counter any father-daughter relationship.

"Rozu, stop playing with your food."

"Silver, stop tapping the spoon against the table."

"And for the LAST time you stupid blue idiot...YAMAROU!"
All eyes were now on the glowering ebony hedgehog. Silence filled the canteen while Shadow sent death glares at his three young companions.
"Honestly, why do you three have to be so fidgety? Can't you sit still for at least a Goddamn minute?" The noisy trio sighed but not because of Shadow.
"I'm worried for Rosy." Emi admitted and pushed her barely eaten soup away from her. "That wound looked really painful." Shadow's glare softened a bit as he sighed too. Unlike the others, he wasn't really concerned about Rosy. His main priorities were to keep Emi and Silver safe, stop Nicky from diving into trouble, collect the rest of the chaos emeralds and go home. Too bad it was easier said than done, even for the Ultimate Life Form.
"You can worry later, toru." Shadow pushed the bowl back towards Emi. It was like he's the father and she's the stubborn daughter. "You're too skinny and you're still injured."
"I'm not that skinny! Shadow-San!" His red eyes gleamed otherwise and as a result, Emi picked up the spoon and sipped the soup. "Besides, I don't think any of us are hungry."
"Yeah, the soup is rather...red..." Silver added. Both he and Emi pushed their bowls away simultaneously making Shadow growl. He rolled his eyes.
"Fine! You'll regret it if we get ambushed all of a sudden."
"Emi, Silver, as much as I hate to say it, Shadow's right. Getting ambushed is no longer a surprise for us and plus, you need these nutrients to help your wounds heal. Especially YOU," Nicky pointed his spoon at Emi "Young lady. You need flesh on your bones, you walking talking stick." Shadow raised a brow at Nicky but then he realised the speed demon's true intentions.
Emi glared at Nicky and began to sip her soup once again as quickly but quietly and neatly as she could. 'So winding her up was his way of getting her to do what she needs to do? No wonder he gets his rear kicked by her hammer.' Shadow thought 'At least she won't be starving. Now Silver needs to eat his food.' Shadow sent a harsh glare towards Silver's direction. As a result, the albino boy gulped and reached for his food as well.
"So, Shadow," The said hedgehog lifted one of his ears up to show that he was listening to his counterpart "We get to discuss our sleeping arrangements once again, heh." A bored look was now present on Shadow's face.
"And?" Emi and Silver were oblivious to Nicky's and Shadow's quiet conversation and were into their food now, their hunger now taken over.
"It's two beds in each room. Amy is probably gonna bunk with Rosy and Sonic, the lucky idiot gets his own room. Who's gonna bunk with who?"
"Personally, I think Emi should've gotten her own room and you could've shared a room with your stupid counterpart." A typical response from the moody guy.
"And logically?"
"Tch," Shadow scratched the back of his ear "If you wanted to sleep next to Emi then just say so aho." Nicky would've fallen out of his chair dramatically if he was in the mood.
"It's not like that! I want her safe."
"Like sleeping next to me or Silver would make things so much more dangerous for her." Shadow replied back sarcastically.
"She's a lot more comfortable sleeping next to me than with you lot."
"Are you sure about that? We're the ones with chest fur," Shadow then smirked at Nicky's twitching face "They'd make excellent pillows if she were to be scared and wants to sleep in the same bed as us."
"Urusai!"
"Hmm? Doushita?"
"Nothing Emi!"
"It sure didn't look like nothing?"
"It wasn't nothing Rozu."
"Shadow, if you don't keep your mouth shut, I'll spin dash you all the way to next week!"
"That's a dumb threat."
"I'll do the same to you Silver."
"I can just make you fly all the way into the ocean before you'd do so!"
"Yara yara..."
"Emi eat your food!"
"Don't tell me what to do,"
"I'm older than all of yous so listen to me or else I'll roast all your tails with my chaos spears! WAKARATA?"
"Alright Gramps! Take a chill pill,"
"Next time you call me that, I will shove a...a- A SHARK! That's right! I'll shove a shark down your ass!"
"Nani?"
"Silver...did he just say a shark?"
"Out of all things Emi..."
"I wish you had conversations like that with our Shadow Sonic," The quadruplet of hedgehogs immediately tensed at the sound of Amy's voice and muttered to themselves of not sensing both hers and Sonic's presence earlier on.
"No you wouldn't."
"Teehee~"
"Amy!" Emi was in front of Amy in a matter of seconds with worry etched all over her face "How's Rosy?" Amy bit her bottom lip and shook her head.
"She wouldn't talk to me but I think Kintobor is making her feel better." Emi's dread washed off slightly. "I'll be able to talk to her later on though, hopefully."
"Changing the subject now, what's on the menu?" Everyone sweat dropped in response to Sonic's quirky attitude. He could at least respect the sensitive situation underhand.

"You still love him."
Rosy didn't respond to her guardian but heard his sharp exhale of breath. Her wound was now all clean and patched up and she was changed into a simple white shirt and black shorts. Her fingers were fumbling with one another and her ears were drooping down.
"It's harder for me to hate him than it looks." Kintobor offered her a kind smile not wanting to pressure the young girl. Luckily for the entire rebellion team, Rosy was still sane and the only things she was smashing were odd bits and bobs.
"It's okay Rosy. I trust you. It's your decision to make. You could join Scourge and fight against us or your could stay and fight against him." She gawked at Kintobor and her eyes scanned for any doubts or uncertainties in his eyes behind the glasses. All she saw was warmth, honesty and tenderness.
All those years, she has been insane because of Scourge. Kintobor has helped her overcome those years in a matter of months and even though she has the potential to wipe out an entire army, he's allowing her to join the villain unscathed?
"I only want you to be happy little Rosy. You're like a daughter I never had."
'And you're like a father I never had...'
"I am not giving up on you just because of some stupid fake king!" Her decision was final "If Scourge wants me so badly, then I'll have him as a punching bag so he could see my face." This made the guardian laugh. His laughter was contagious and Rosy found herself giggling a bit along with him. For the first time ever, someone was laughing with her. Not AT her.
"Knock knock~"
"Ah, Amy! Good timing! Rosy has just gotten ready for bed. Er," Kintobor glanced at the mess around the room and the broken objects that were scattered all over the floor. "Just be careful of where you step, heheh."
"At least it'll stop intruders from coming in." Rosy piped up with a grin.
"What ever happened to the good old fashioned bucket full of water on top of the door trap?" Amy added dramatically and carefully made her way in the room.

Nicky gulped as he was facing away while Emi was changing into a more comfortable dress that was suited for sleeping. How did he end up in this situation again? Oh right. Silver thought it was a good idea to lock the door the duo were in. Why? As soon as all four hedgehogs entered the room a spotted the one single bed and a bunch of other furniture, Silver and Shadow ran out trapping Emi and Nicky in the room. Now, not only do pink and blue have to share the bed, there was no toilets or bathrooms in the room so Emi had to change in Nicky's presence.
"I'm done." Nicky sighed in relief as he turned around to face Emi. She was wearing a dress similar to the white night dress she wore in No Zone.
"Eheh...okay-yyy."
"I don't know why it seems so awkward for you Nicky, we sleep next to each other like so many times."
"But not in a bed!"
"We did before."
"Demou! We were only little then."
"We still are little~"
"Shadow's observation over us doesn't count and- hey!" Emi climbed into the bed taking the side by the wall and took the whole blanket while she lied down. "You're hogging all of the blanket and the pillow."
"The pillow is small anyways. I'm really cold too."
"How do you think I feel? I have no extra clothing to keep me warm!"
"HEY KEEP QUIET THERE! SOME OF US ARE TRYING TO SLEEP YOU BRATS!"
The voices of the residents in the neighboring room made Nicky and Emi freeze instinctively. They weren't even speaking that loud. Nicky swept a hand through his quills and switched the lamp off before climbing into the bed and tugged on the blanket.
"I'll let you have the pillow but spare a bit of the blanket will ya." He growled out quietly. Emi turned around to face him and shook her head. "Fine then, if I get a cold, I will forever make you guilt about it."
"Or, you could just snuggle closer next to me and you'd get your fair amount of the blanket." Nicky grinned deviously at Emi and took her off guard by grabbing her waist gently and brought her closer to him. Their nose were touching now and their legs were entwined with one another. Emi felt her face go beet red. Nicky on the other hand smiled victoriously and covered himself with the blanket yet he returned his arms back around Emi's waist.
"This isn't fair Nicky."
"Hm? Naze?" His voice was just a tad bit above a whisper.
"...Erm..."
"Just because I'm the one getting you all flustered and not the other way round?"
"Shut up." Emi covered her muzzle with both her fists and looked down. Meanwhile, Nicky was enjoying the warmth of the moment.
"When do you think we'll be back home?" Nicky peered at Emi's face. She seemed like a shy little girl.
"Not too long. Why?"
"I just miss Cream and everyone else."
"Wha-aaat? Getting bored of me already?"
"I'm being serious."
"Okay, okay. If it makes you better, I miss home too."
"Honto?"
"Nope." Nicky received a little kick on his leg from none other than the pink one. "Oi! That's bad manners."
"Do I get a good night kiss?" Nicky now felt himself tremble.
"Go to sleep Emi."
"Aww, I was pretty sure I was gonna get one."
"No. Now sleep."
"Nicky-yyy~"
"Emi..."
"Fine, fine. I'll sleep."
"Hm? Nicky?" Emi gasped as she saw Nicky's eyes closed and breathing softly. How can someone fall asleep like that? She'll never understand boys. Feeling a bit brave, Emi kissed Nicky's nose and with a giggle, closed her eyes attempting to sleep. If only she saw that ghost of a smile on Nicky's muzzle.

The half dead trees outside swayed in a haunting manner. The night was absolutely silent. Dead silent. If a pin were to drop, you'd be able to hear it from miles away.
A huge group of Mobians swung from tree to tree led by a green blur rushing towards their destination. The green blur skidded to a halt in front of a specific tree and his gleaming white teeth flashed at the site.
"They're underground...interesting...I can smell her scent from down there. Very clever indeed."
"King Scourge! Shall we dig our way down?" One of the rogues spoke up in her gristly voice. The powerful King looked at her from the corner of his eyes and let out a 'Hee!'
"Well why not?"
He glanced back at the ground again.
'I told you Rosy, I will get you one way or another. What better way is to do that then slaughter everything that you've ever cherished right before your eyes starting with Kintobor...'
