I don't like author's notes that much either but I'm going to keep posting them at the bottom so if you write a review or add this to your follows or favorites I will acknowledge you down there (not all at once…wow can you imagine how long that would be? **I don't own anything except my OC and whatever convoluted thing that's not recognizable from the actual plot line. Also whatever else I decide to add – be it by someone else – all rights to them.
I looked up from the spell I was reading to Sarah as she stopped the car. "This is it." She sighed and turned off the car, "Erica and I waited a whole year for this advanced screening."
"Wow…that's really lame." Benny just had to comment.
"Just read your magic book, dork." Sarah scoffed back.
"Ohh, shots fired! Pew, pew, pew!" I clasped my hands together to make a gun shape while everyone just chuckled at me shaking their heads.
"The bouncer looks like one of them. You think he'll recognize us?" Ethan turned to Sarah.
"It's okay…" holding up a finger and taking out the keys from the ignition she started to open the car door, "I think I know another way in."
Ethan and Sarah left the car, Benny got out and I was going to follow when my cell rang looking down I saw it was my dad. "Clare?" Benny called out to me picking up the bag filled with the tanning bed light and a couple holy water spray guns.
Holding up my phone as I got out of the car I told him to go on ahead as I answered, "Hi daddy!"
"Little Bug! Where are you? Do you know what time it is!?"
"I'm so sorry! I forgot to tell you! I'm with Ethan, Benny and Sarah! We decided to go to the Dusk III premiere after all!"
"I thought Ethan's parents were having Sarah babysit tonight?"
"Weeellll…"
"Little Bug…did you three make Grandma Weir babysit Jane while you go out and have fun?"
"I'm sorry, I'll help her with her garden! I promise I'll make it up to her."
"Fine, but be home as soon as you can…you know I don't like you out there this late, have Benny take care of you alright?"
"You got it dude." I smiled and took off towards where Ethan, Benny and Sarah were headed.
As I ran towards the door I saw it was already open and could hear Benny exclaim he had found a spell that could make all the vampires vanish. As I got closer I heard him start to recite the spell, "…fera bat sententium neophoetus—" I yelled out a loud "WAIT BENNY!" but was too late because he had already finished the enchantment as I ran into the hallway. There was a bright white light and the book disappeared from his hands. Benny looked around confused at what had just happened as Ethan groaned in frustration.
"Benny, that makes whatever you're holding vanishes back to the point you first got it. So the book is now back with Gramma Weir. Nice job." I patted his back and shook my head.
"Oh well, next time I'll get it!" Benny excitedly raised his hand to high five me.
"Wait. Are you anticipating another vampire attack anytime soon?" I shrieked but gave an apologetic glance at Ethan after he shushed me.
"Guys, get your head in the game." Sarah smiled at me, "Everyone know their part and what you're doing?" We all nodded as Ethan and Sarah went one-way Benny and I went the other. As we were walking towards the front of the theater Benny grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him as we walked.
"So, I keep trying to talk to you but Ethan keeps interrupting."
"Yeah, I wonder if that's going to keep happening…I really hope not. It's really annoying and I really want to know what you want to say!" I stopped us as we stood by the counter and took off my jacket; it was getting way too hot in here. People were rushing past us and a couple was paying for their popcorn and milk duds.
" 'Use the force' Vintage Star Wars T-shirt…is that's new?! I've never seen you wear that…That is SO hot! That's it! Okay, you know what?" He turned to me and puts his hands on my shoulders as my ears turn red from his unexpected compliment, "Clare—"
"Hey, can I get you two something?" the girl behind the counter came up next to us.
"NO! I - uh – sorry it's just," he started waving his hand at her to move away, I started to say something when he sighed, "Screw it—"
And then his lips were on mine.
Benny.
Lips.
Kiss.
Benny.
Lips.
Kiss.
Benny.
Kiss.
Do Something! Move?!
I stood there, eyes wide and stiff. My shoulders had come up and scrunched by my neck, my face was getting hot. Red. Hot.
He pulled away and stared at my face. His eyebrows were raised and waiting for my reaction. We stood there for a minute in silence.
"I'm sorry—I really thought that you maybe felt the same way…I'll just not—WHOA-"
I pulled him down by his collar to my level and smashed our lips together. This time I moved my hands to the back of his neck and held him close. His arms wrapped around me, pulling me even closer to him. It was a little difficult for him I'm sure, what with him being way taller than I am. He must have realized that, I squealed as he picked me up and spun me around, still kissing he set me down on the counter.
"I'm really sorry to interrupt but…um…you're not supposed to sit on the counter."
We broke apart, I looked at the girl behind the counter and gave a sheepish grin, I could tell my face was beet red and as I hopped off I covered my face with my hands. Looking up I saw Benny grinning down at m, "The force was with me Clare! It wants us together!" Suddenly he was giving me quick little pecks across my face as I giggled.
"Not to ruin the mood or anything but," I turned my head towards the blonde girl but Benny still kept giving me little pecks on my cheek, "We'll have an extra large, jumbo bucket of popcorn, with extra salt, extra butter, and extra popcorn." Looking back at Benny I grinned up at him, "Life's short, right?"
It had gotten very quiet since no one was in the lobby of the theater, Benny's phone pinged and he groaned but looking at the message he said, "Plan B is ready to go." He glanced up at me through his lashed as he put his phone away, "So…"
"So…"
"So…that's what I've been trying to tell you this whole time Ethan's been interrupting us."
"You've wanted to kiss me like that? When did you—I just never thought—I'm not even attract-"
"Don't even finish that, I've wanted to do that since we were kids. Well, I mean not kiss you like that...the kissing feelings developed later-not that much later but-GAH- did you just hit me? I know, I'm rambling. Clare I've never felt this way about anyone, ever since we were kids I knew we'd end up together. You've been my best friend through everything, you were there with me when my parents…and stuck up for me through all the bad times, and you don't take any crap from me...Clare…you're my Leia."
"And you're my Han, Benny." I gave a small smile and pulled him into a hug.
"Clare…do you want to maybe go out with me sometime?"
"Of course I do, Benny, I've wanted to go on a date with you for a really, really long time! I'm so happy Ethan wasn't here to cut you off again." I grabbed the popcorn bucket and started to munch on a couple when suddenly Rory pops up out of nowhere hissing at me. I toss the bucket of popcorn into his face and he jumps back yelling as the delicious snack burns him.
"Hey?!"
"That is such a waste of popcorn, Rory!" I lightly slap his arm and turn back to the girl behind the counter who was smiling and who wasn't even paying any attention to me…but to…Rory? Interesting…
"Clare, come on, I'm rocking the full on vampire mode, I gotta stretch my fangs some of the time!"
"Point those things at my girlfriend again and I'll go vampire dentist on your ass." Benny lightly pushes Rory back.
"Girlfriend?" Rory and I comment at the same time, although with different facial expressions. Rory's looked confused and excited while I was just grinning like the idiot I am.
"Well, I mean, yeah, should I have asked or was that-"
"I'd love to be your girlfriend." I place a quick kiss on his cheek and look down around when I see people start to rush past us out of the theater. "Hey, Rory…where did you-"
SNARL. HISS.
The little shriek I gave was embarrassing. Not gonna lie, but I guess it stopped the vampires long enough to get us moving into action.
Looking behind the counter Benny looks at the frightened girl and yells, "Plug me in!" As soon as she did Benny laughed out, "HA! HA!" and as he springs into action, he grabs two straws and holds them up in the shape of a cross.
I lunge for the bag carrying the holy water guns and quickly give one to the blondie after seeing a vampire try to get behind the counter and her throw some popcorn in their face. I turn and start shooting at any vampire that isn't Rory, "Clare?!" oops! (Not really, that was for scaring me).
I see Benny grab the 'lightsaber' off the counter once it turns on, "Much better than batteries! Oh! Evil you are! Toast you shall be!" I hear Benny exclaim as his lightsaber zaps, hitting some of the vampires. I spray another vampire and hear a sizzling noise after throwing some popcorn. Looking around I quickly throw down the water gun when it runs out and pull out the dagger Grandma Weir gave us and turn when I hear Rory shout my name, he grabs the vampire in front of me and turns him in my direction. I quickly slash at his chest and Rory and I back up when the vampires cut starts to glow with a white light and he suddenly vanishes into dust. I glance at Rory to see he's looking at me with an expression of awe.
"That was so cool!" We yell together and high five each other before getting back into the action. We do this for another five minutes before all the vampires around us were either knocked out or had run away during the fight.
"Nice job Rory!" I grin.
"You too! Wait, shouldn't you two go help Ethan chase down Jesse and his box thing?"
"That's where we're headed off to. Now get out of here, you don't want to be anywhere near here if Jesse finds out you helped us. Plus…you're not going to like Plan B." He nods and after giving Benny and I a fist bump he zooms out of here.
"Is it bad that I want to see you fight more vampires because I think it's hot?" Benny grins.
"Yes, it is." I laugh out. We grab hold of each other and quickly kiss before running out towards the back of the theater where we had planned to meet Ethan and Sarah. As we quickly passed the theater seats a hand shot out and grabbed my arm, I screamed and quickly tried to stab it but Benny ended up being faster than me and pulled out his own dagger and threw it with really amazing aim into the vampire girls left eye. He quickly pulled me away as we watched he scream in pain and suddenly vanish in a white light, the dagger vanishing with her.
"Thanks, but I don't think you're going to get that dagger back." I pant and pull him towards the back as he lets out a laugh. We stop in front of the curtain just as Gord had finished going through it.
We peek through and see Sarah holding down Erica and tying her arm behind her back, "Hey! Let her go." Gord says walking down the steps.
"Over my dead body." Sarah scoffs but quickly backs away when he vampire speeds towards her roaring. Benny and I had shuffled in closer. Looking away from Benny who was focused on Sarah and Gord, I kept my eyes on Erica; she was struggling to undo the knot Sarah had done on her. She glanced up and saw me staring at her, for a moment I thought she was going to hiss but instead she looked sorry. We both spun to look at Benny as he yelled out, "Freedom!" and ran towards Gord who quickly held up his hand in a fist and knocked Benny out on his back.
Gord glance down and shrugged at an unconscious Benny, "A brave geek is still just a geek." As Gord turned back to Sarah, Erica and I had gotten much closer (we were slowly shuffling towards each other…oh god I hope she doesn't try to fight me) and saw Ethan jump in front of Sarah to protect her.
"Stop right there! I mean it!" He yelled.
Turing to Erica really quickly I whispered, "Help us!"
She just looked at me, "If I help you then I'm dead. I'm going to be on the winning side."
"They're going to lose don't you see that? Good always defeats evil."
"This isn't about good and evil, or the winning side…I've always been bullied and put down. Do you know what that does to a person?" she sighed and struggled with the chain again, "Now just untie this and let me go."
"Please Erica, you're a good person. I know you are!" sighing a grabbed a her and turned her around to start fiddling with the chain, "And I've been bullied too. She was always pushing me down and making me feel bad about myself. But you don't see me turning against my friends. I'm using that to fight back." Erica turned to look at me as I let the chain drop to the floor. We stood there quietly for a minute just wiling the other to understand. Suddenly two other vampires came up and to stand behind Gord. One of them looked over and saw me but before I could do anything she grabbed me and held me in a tight grip. I was struggling for a minute before I felt her be pulled away and thrown from me. Shocked I looked up at Erica who was holding a hand out to me, "thanks."
"Don't mention it…really don't." she smiled a little but quickly grimaced in pain when the water from the sprinklers on the roof came down. Faster than I could think possible I found a blanket (or tarp?) on the floor and quickly covered her with it and yelled out, "Run!" she zoomed out of there and I grabbed Benny who was just starting to wake up but was still groggy. I helped him up and had to grip him hard, he's a pretty heavy guy oh my goodness. As we got out away from the sprinklers I saw Erica waiting outside.
Ethan grabbed Benny from me, "We need to move faster," and easily tossed him over his shoulder. I ran over and opened the car door for him.
"Erica, what are you still-" Sarah had started to say but her footing must have been of because the next second Erica was holding her and trying to keep her vertical.
"Tell Grandma to answer her phone!" Benny yelled as Ethan set him down into the car.
"Come on! Hurry, the eclipse is in eight minutes and we have to find Jesse." Ethan ran back to Sarah and Erica, "Did he say to you where he was going?"
Erica shook her head, still holding Sarah, "No, he didn't tell anyone. All he said was he was going to be close to family…which I'm assuming is…" she nodded her head towards me.
"Take the car…I'm too weak." Sarah held out the keys to me after retrieving them from her pocket, "The hunger is getting stronger." Erica was practically carrying her, as Sarah looked up to look at me I could see her eyes had shifted and that her fangs had come out.
"What? You have to come with us. We have to stop Jesse and—"
Both Sarah and Erica looked up at Ethan and yelled in a demonic voice, "Just go. Now!"
"Gah," I gasped and pulled Ethan off to the car. He got in the passengers seat and as I started the car I yelled out the window to Erica and Sarah, "Head back to our place. Maybe Gramma Weir can give her something to curve the cravings or give her a blood substitute or something!" I pulled away from the lot and started driving.
We were driving in the general direction of our houses for a couple minutes when Ethan decided to try and wake Benny. "Hey, so Jesse must be taking the nest of souls to wherever his followers are buried, okay? Um…where is that?"
"Yep. Found love at the snack bar, my friend. Ha! Ow…"
"Ignore him. Okay, the prophecy says, 'The dead take root, a barren orchard bears the devil's fruit.' Okay? A barren orchard…uh…Babe? Any ideas or are you still out of it back there?" I said stopping at the read light to look at Benny.
"It's all good baby! You know my address! Fifty-three Orchard Park. Come over any time." He winked at me which caused me to give a small small and roll my eyes.
"Wait…That tree! The tree from my visions! I know that tree! Wait- babe? Love at the snack bar? Are you two-"
"Ethan! Focus! Where have you seen the tree from your visions?"
"Clare…that's not possibly…just…head to my house."
"Ethan now is not the time for a potty break."
"Clare?! Please! Just-" he gestured for me to hurry.
"Fine but if this is some for something stupid…"
"I'm stupid on love my friends!"
"Benny!" Ethan and I shouted together.
Anyone find the High School Musical and Full House reference? That show was a big part of my childhood, I'm excited to see Fuller House on Netflix! If you haven't seen Full House I really recommend it…but…yes it is an older kind of show, so if you don't like watching old movies or tv shows then never mind. And the movie was like the shit while I was in Middle/High School so that's awesome lol :)

TiredOfBeingNice Thank you! That's so sweet ^-^ **Hugs** I know, Ethan has the worst timing…if I do the tv show (I will in the future when I have more time) I think I'm going to keep it like a running joke…see how many times he can interrupt them when they're being all cute and coupley.
Jenny-Sweet-Fire Thanks! I'm glad you like it! Definitely had Rory fighting back but I wanted to keep Erica's part kind of the same, but I did obviously change her to fight back as well :) Do I plan to make the tv series new stories? Right now I'm debating whether to just add them onto this one or to make them their own mini series. Also I need to figure out if I want to do an episode a chapter or if I'm going to break it up to add more of my own writing. But yes, I'm definitely going to continue with this…just when is the thing.
.gallifrey Yup! Definitely was! I really love the show…but to be honest with you I stopped watching once the 10th season come on. Personally I think the show has gone on too long but I still love it.
