Hello Everyone.
My name is Marley, I am going to be taking over this story from my Aunt Meri. It's been 2 years since she has last written about Jennifer Hyde. I recently came across this story and I sort of threw a fit on my Aunt. How could she wright such a fabulous story and never finish it? She then reminded me she currently has two children now and another on the way.
I asked for her blessing in possibly continuing the story. She agreed with the condition that she will be proofing each chapter I post. She doesn't want me to go in a direction she doesn't enjoy.
A little about my relationship to my aunt.
I too am an avid That 70s show watcher and I have seen every episode on Netflix. I am just a little younger than my aunt because her brother (my dad) is actually 15 years older than her. We are very close and was even in her wedding.
So without further ado, here is my continuation of Are You Dizzy When Your Stoned. The end of this very short chapter was written by Meri.
Flashback Start
"What do you mean you are going to New York with her?" I asked my brother as he stuffed his things into his large suitcase.
I was sitting on his bed wearing my favorite oversized overalls and pigtails. My brother had recently met a girl named Chrissy who was almost perfect for him. No respect for authority, hated the government, she drove a vespa, she was perfect for him.
"I just wanna spread my wings Jen." Steven said throwing in the few clothes he actually owned. "I don't wanna be held back in this run down little town. I don't want to be tied down."
"I understand." I said shaking my head. "Can I come too?"
He looked up and shook his head. "Jena." He came and sat by me. "I'm sorry but I can't take you with me."
"That's ok, I mean, everyone else has left. You might as well leave too."
Flashback end
I awoke in the lazy chair. Mikey asleep in my arms.
My babysitting business had grown. Now with the inclusion of "Mikey" as Betsy called him. I was now babysitting four children. Sooner or later Donna's twins would be arriving. Then it would be six and they were going to have to hire someone else. I held little three week old Mikey on the couch as his sister read a book and the other children were sleeping in H.J.'s room. Betsy looked like she was begining to nod off, but she wanted to read one more chapter.
Betsy's IQ scores had come back nearly a week ago. She had come back with a 116 IQ score, which was apparently superior intelligence for her age. Kelso couldn't believe it, his daughter was practically a genius. She was currently reading a book entitled "The Velveteen Rabbit." I hadn't been forced to read that book till I was in the fourth grade. She was three. Maybe she could do my math tests for me soon.
I looked down onto the floor, she was asleep with the book curled up in her arms. I smiled and decided to just let her sleep.
I soon heard a knock on the door. I got up, figuring it was Kelso for Betsy and Mikey. Instead it was my brother and Jackie home early.
Jackie smiled as she saw me and asked if I was ok still with Betsy and Mikey, she really wanted to get a shower while H.J. was still asleep. I told her of course I didn't mind.
I continued rocking Mikey as my brother slid onto the couch next to me.
"Everytime I see a baby, it reminds me of when mom brought you home." Steven smiled at me.
I laughed. "That's a good thing right?"
"It was a good thing. It was a scary thing though." He said touching Mikey's cheek.
"Scary?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I was worried they were going to hit you too." He said rubbing his own forehead. "It was the first thing I thought of when they showed you to me. I didn't want something so tiny to be hurt either.
"I try to forget how much they hit you. First Bud, then some of the guys mom brought home." I said biting my lip and putting Mikey into the crib.
"They never hit you and it was what made me happy." He smiled. "I thought I had to protect you, so I would tell mom to not let them hurt you. She said she wouldn't let them because you were her little girl and no one should hit a girl. I still feel like I have to protect you. I guess I need to leave that up to Jason now."
"Yeah, you have H.J. and Jackie to protect now." I smiled.
"More than that actually." He said smirking. "Jackie is pregnant again."
I looked up at him and smiled. "Ok, you now have three to protect. Congratulations my brother.
