Disclaimer: All characters and world are property of Nintendo, I don't own any of this. Just wanted to write a Team Rocket adventure, which are sadly very rare. A lot of OC adventures, but only like four with Team Rocket… and sadly all abandoned so far.
Summary: What if Jessie and Meowth never made it out of St Anne alive, causing James life to change forever? "Mom, Dad… I will agree to marry Jessebelle, but in exchange you will help me become a Pokémon Master." AU
AN: Like I mentioned before, English is not my first language. I'm planning on getting a beta to check upon my story as soon as I have posted five chapters at the very least.
Chapter 2:
His desperation over lack of fresh air seem so long ago with the numbness feel that was rapidly taking control of his body. A paralysis overflowing with darkness, as James was soon to be welcomed by death, but such early meeting was never meant to be—as it was interrupted by the sudden arrival of a sound. A melodious sound managed to enter his ears, becoming stronger as if something was approaching him. And like a thunderstorm, battling against darkness, declared its power as it ran supreme and managed to succumb the overwhelming gloom. The precious light immediately let itself be known by the instant feel of hyperventilation. Fresh air began to enter his lungs so fast that the only thing he managed to see was the silhouette of a giant being carrying him on its back before he was reclaimed by darkness once again.
Margaret was currently running through one of the many corridors of her giant mansion. The maid, that was currently trying to catch up to her with no luck, had inform her of the news. Her son has been found alive, and the rescuers were on their way to bring him home. She couldn't stop herself from releasing her tears, she had been quite close from joining her negative husband on this. An entire week had passed since the ST Anne's incident, and a lot of things had happened since Pop Pop's arrival.
Flashback:
While her husband was making some vital calls on their way back, she had surprised his parents with the news that she had placed a tracer on a locket she had given her son when he was only three years old. Her husband was not as surprised, and even though he could had tried to use said locket to find his son long ago when he managed to escape after the news of the arranged marriage, his wife made it clear that he might lose something during his sleep if he had tried to use it for anything less as life threatening.
And with such hopeful news, she immediately left the limo after arriving home. Only to return, several minutes later, into the main reception, where the rest where kept waiting with some added maids, with a tablet at hand. "We can instantly track James location with this," she pointed out once again, as she activated the tracer only to reveal a map of the Kanto region at the tablet with a small red dot in the middle of it. As the tracer continued its work, the map started to move around and be more accurate of where the dot's location was currently at. And in less than a minute, it finally reached a conclusion. "James is not far from the shipwrecked," she sadly revealed, as this only meant one thing. James living chances had been drastically reduced.
"He didn't managed to escape with a Pokémon," Nanny quietly replied to the news.
"Don't give up hope yet, Nanny," Pop-Pop tried to comfort his wife with whatever hopeful spirit he had left. "Son, send the rescuers to wherever this machine is pointing to. He could still be alive," he soon followed, as he turned towards his son whom was still on the phone. He was responded by a nod, as Jimmy did exactly that. And two hours later he was practically celebrating with the cheerful news... four people were found at such site.
They arrived too late for one of them, but three odds where better than none in his eyes. His grandson might still be alive, even more so if James locket was pointing out to them. But time turned against him once again, proving him that he had celebrated way too soon, with the survivals arrival, and one lifeless body, at the mansion proving than no James was present. Finally putting an end to whatever hope he had left. There was a limit to how much an old man could bear, and his heart has reached his limits.
He joined his wife, as they left the room—leaving the survivors to be attended by their son's mother in law and housemaids. Their son had long left with the people in charge of the rescue team, and had yet to return.
Meanwhile, if Margaret was filling uncomfortable before… that was nothing compared to what she was feeling know, but not because of the reason all surrounding maids were thinking of. Well, they were mostly correct, but current developments had actually managed to do an impossible. She was actually thinking of something else beside her son's possible death.
When the survivors arrived to her mansion, she had immediately ignored them as none of them turned out to be her James. With a death body as the last option, and the tracer pointing towards it, she left her feelings and personal thoughts behind as she walked towards it and uncovered said body, which was previously hidden behind a black plastic bag, for the rest to see. Her shock was increased tenfold. Not only was the body in possession of her son's locket resulted to be a different person altogether, she was also welcomed by her past. A past she had done her best to keep hidden for many years. "Miyamoto," she mutely replied, as she covered said body once again.
After letting said name to dominate her thoughts for several minutes, she finally went back to her current and most important task—her son.
Flashback ends:
After that scene other developments soon followed; starting with the survivors being invited to stay in the mansion as the rescue mission continued its progress throughout the area of the shipwreck. And with so much movement, it was impossible, even for someone as powerful as the Kojiru family, to cover it up from the media.
By two days later, almost everyone in Kanto had heard of the tragical news surrounding the Kojiru family, and how their headstrong actions had managed to save the lives of three of the five people that were declared dead hours later after the shipwreck. The news had reached all regions by the fifth day, almost no one was ignorant of who James was by then, and for such reason it was totally understandable of Margaret's huge increase of 'discomfort' towards all the surrounding public, most of them reporters, at the entrance of her mansion as she waited for her son's arrival.
The media now holds a huge part of her grudge right now, not because of turning any last possible privacy her family had—nonexistence, but because they were largely at fault for almost making her lose hope towards her son. By the fourth day most of them began to call her a stubbornness crazy old mother who should learn to face reality and to stop wasting any of those people's (rescuers) time, but time prove them wrong. 'I will make them pay soon enough, but that will be for another day. Nothing is more important than my son right now,' she thought to herself, as she looked at the huge amount of bystanders standing beyond the fence of her home.
Several minutes passed, and she was now joined by the rest of her family and members of her house. Even people from the corporation, and workers in charge of other assets were present, and last but not least the trio of miracles, as the media now called them in honor of the Kanto's legendary birds.
"James, welcome back my son," she voiced with tears in her eyes, as a huge amount of flashes announced her son's return.
End of Chapter.
Hope you like the upcoming developments this chapter has revealed, I was planning to announced it later but the story went against me and made me reveal it sooner. Sorry for the long wait, but working six days a week doesn't give me much free time to write.
