He knew who it was from before he'd even opened it; it was her handwriting that had scrawled his name and address across the envelope.
What it said was another matter. I've met someone. I can't wait forever. I'm sorry. All the possibilities flew through his mind.
He ripped the letter open; he needed to know. The six words that were written shocked him.
I love you. I need you.
The letter was clasped in his hand the entire flight.
And he was waiting when she returned home from work.
