I will either star-out or put something else if it swears.

Sam and Dean shared a look. They had not expected this, from her least of all. From what they had learned about the two partners they had thought that Agent Booth would be the first to believe them. If they ever did, that is. But Dr. Brennan? Now, THAT was unexpected. She seemed to be way too scientific to believe them.

"Well, um, a Rugaru spends most of their life human. Then, at a certain age, they feel a very strong hunger. The only thing that will satisfy this hunger is human flesh. It'll get so strong they can't resist and they just, well, eat." Sam told her uncertainly. Was she truly interested? Or was she just joking? Trying to trick them into somehow admitting that they did it.

Dr. Brennan nodded, writing something down. "Thank you for the help." She left the interrogation room.

A couple of FBI agents walked over to the brothers. Sam stood up willingly, though he wasn't excited about it.

Dean seemed to have a mini staring contest with one of them. His face looked determined, but the agents face was rock solid. "Dean." Sam said in warning. Something would definitely go wrong if he kept this up, it was bad enough that they had been arrested. They didn't need to have problems with the agents as well.

Eventually Dean grunted in barely willing consent. He looked very unhappy about it, but he stood up and allowed himself to be led back to the crowded interrogation room.

Brennan was sitting on the couch in her office. She was looking at the victim's X-rays on her laptop. Her earphones were in so she could listen to music as she examined them. Her eyes were sharp, picking up every little detail that they could about the bones.

"Sweetie." Angela said, Brennan didn't respond. "Sweetie!" she said louder, still no response. "Sweetie!" This time she sat next to her friend.

Brennan looked away from the screen, slightly surprised to see Angela. She pulled out her earphones and shifted her body so she was facing her. "Yes, what is it?" Her unique gray eyes focused on Angela for a moment.

"Cam finally got DNA results back on the weapons. None of the knives have Neal's DNA." She relaxed a bit more and got that look on her face when she spoke of something she found fascinating. "Apparently, each knife had traces of multiple different DNA. Some weren't even human." She noticed that Brennan was once again focused on the laptop screen, examining the skull. "Sweetie, are you even paying attention?"

"Of course, I am very capable of multitasking." She used her matter-of-fact tone, though she only briefly looked up.

Angela sighed. "Anyway, Cam is trying to determine what kind of animal the DNA came from."

Brennan looked up at Angel then back at the screen. "Look at the Occipital bone." she pointed to the back of the head. "It's fractured, along the patellas. Plus, the hands and arms show evidence of defensive wounds." she pressed a few buttons and the arm, hand, and knee cap X-rays were also on the screen.

"Oh my gosh."

"I propose this scenario; The victim was attacked, and ran. He tripped and fell on his knees, causing the fractures on the patellas. Then he turned and put up his arms to protect himself from his attacker, who managed to throw his head back. Fracturing the Occipital, and knocking the victim unconscious."

Booth sat in his office, Sweets in a chair on the other side of the desk. "I believe that any one of them could have killed him if they believed that he was one of the monsters they all talk about." Sweets was telling Booth.

"Isn't there some psychology magic you can do to make one of them confess?" Booth asked hopefully.

"No, I already tried." Sweets leaned back in the chair.

Brennan entered the room. She began immediately, speaking faster than they could comprehend, and telling them about the new evidence.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Slow down there Bones. Just calm down and tell us what happened." Booth leaned forward, using the tone he uses when he needs to calm someone down when it's urgent.

Brennan took a breath so she could begin again. "The victim was attacked before he was eaten." she put more emphasis on attacked.

Relief mixed with barely the audible expectancy of disappointment filled Booth's face. "So what Sam and Dean Winchester said couldn't have happened! They said that they just eat, I doubt that this 'Rugaru' would attack first."

Brennan clenched her jaw, and looked at Booth. It was obvious that she was upset.

"What?" Booth asked, unsure of what he had done wrong.

"You watched my interrogation." she responded.

"Of course I did! And frankly, I'm surprised that you even slightly believed their bologna. I mean, the evidence tells us that it's not true!" Booth stood up defensively.

"Actually, it doesn't. Fractures on the patellas and occipital bone tell us that he was chased. He was chased until he tripped. He turned towards his attacker and help up his hand to protect himself. The killer hit him so hard that he hit his head, and knocked him out." Brennan didn't look any less upset.

Sweets looked between the two. "Well it's obvious that Agent Booth must have broken some sort of unspoken rule in your relationships. We could schedule a time-"

"No." Booth interrupted, turning towards him angrily. "You aren't going to make us go into therapy again." He turned back to Brennan. "So you're saying that it could have been this 'Rugaru' thing?"

"Yes," Brennan replied. "That's exactly what I'm saying."
