AN: I'm sorry I've been gone for so long, I really have no excuse this time, I just kind of got sick of writing. But I just decided that with the long break that I would use this weekend to update most of my stories.
For those of you who are fans of Pretty Little Liars. I have started to write a next generation story on that. The preface is up right now, and the next chapter should be up tomorrow.
Emmett's POV
'BOOM' Rose gripped my hand as the whole helicopter shock for the thunder outside. This was not good for her, she is pregnant with my baby. My little Cassie or Royce.
"Luke?" I had trouble keeping my voice from shaking. If Rose heard how scared I was she would be done for. "Is there and island coming around soon?"
"Just about 2 miles away there should be one." He said nodding in front of him. I saw nothing but darkness and the occasional flicker of lightning in the distance.
I started to calm down. Just a little farther off 'til shore. My breathing started to calm down and I started to think about seeing Izzy again. I try to imagine the little girl who was still scared of the dark as a 18 year old. It was hard for me to do. But I knew that when I saw her again I would make up for all the lost time that I should have been there for. What could have been.
The stupid clock read six o' clock. It had to be broken it was 6 o' clock last time I looked. I just wanted to leave and be there for Izzy's graduation. True it was only graduation from 8th grade, but this not only marks the point of her becoming a young adult, but her second big milestone since out parents died. I must have been doing something right with her because she said she was getting some type of award tonight. I sat down at the cash register waiting for the next customer and 6:30 to come around. I tried to write a meaningful card to her(which didn't turn out) and finally I was able to leave.
I pulled up home and ran upstairs to go and change into whatever Alice decided I should wear. I was graduated a couple weeks ago and was about to go off to Brown with Rose, but yet I still let a freshman choose what I wanted to wear. For tonight she decided on a pair of tan khakis a black dress shirt and a blue tie. I changed quickly and ran downstairs to see Izzy standing next to Alice while Esme took a picture of them. Izzy looked beautiful she was wearing a navy blue dress that went to slightly above her mid thigh. She also had a brown belt around her waist, a knit grey cardigan, and our mother's silver necklace on. She also let Alice do her hair, which was surprising. It was in curls in a low side ponytail, with a few shorts hair sticking out on the other side. She had on light makeup and looked beautiful She looked much to old, and like I wasn't going to let her out of the house, but beautiful none the less.
"Izzy," I said smiling waling over to give my little sister a hug. "You look beautiful I said." She smiled and thanked me. "Now go and change." I said sternly pointing to the stairs.
She frowned and Alice laughed. "Emmett, Izzy's no longer a little girl she can wear that at least for tonight."
I shook my head and pointed to the stairs again. Izzy refused to move.
Esme laughed, "Emmett it's fine, besides you guys are matching." I looked over at Izzy's dress and back to my tie, she did the same and we chuckled together.
"Fine but only for tonight," I said sternly.
We drove to the ceremony together. Izzy telling me what it was going to be about, even the stupid parts, and I laughed at her reactions to a boy in her grade named Richie, or something, who was suppose to sing a song about growing up, but he got sick so her friend Callum had to do it.
They ceremony was long and boring like she said it was going to be, but I had an infinite amount of of joy when the words, "Isabella McCarty" came through the annoyingly loud speaker. She smiled at everyone before running over to her cheering friends. Izzy won the most outstanding student award because she had got straight 'A's' since 6th grade, has done volleyball, been in clubs, and has done a lot of volunteering for the school and community. That made me the proudest big brother on the planet. The Callum kid could actually sing, and even made some people in the audience cry from what he was singing. This almost made me laugh.
Afterwards I went to go and meet up with Izzy. Her and her friends were taking a group picture. What got me though was the she had her arm around that Callum kids shoulder and he had hers around his waist. I wanted to go over and teach that kid a lesson, but I told myself to calm down that it was just for the picture and they were friends.. When the group was done talking pictures, I walked over to take my own picture with Izzy.
"Congrats, Izzy," I laughed giving her a hug. I put my arm around her shoulder, and smiled as Carlisle took a picture of us. But Izzy didn't seem to be looking at Carlisle she was looking at Callum and smiling, and he was smiling right back at her. That would have to be dealt with, but right now I'm just going to enjoy my time with my little sister. Mom and Dad would be proud of us.
"Izzy's to young to be going out on a date!" I yelled.
"She's 15. That's older then you and Rosalie were when you guys started going out." Alice laughed.
"That's different," I growled.
"How so?" Rose asked.
I turned my gaze to her and said sternly, "Because Izzy's not going."
Rose glared and shock her head, "Your sister is the most mature girl I know, she's not going to do anything stupid."
"It's not her I'm worried about," I started. "It's the rest of the world."
Rose and Alice laughed, "Well, she's getting ready to go right now, and it would be rude to cancel this late, so she's going."
"Like hell she's going." I screamed. "Isabella!"
I she came running down the stairs at that moment. She was wearing short water downed shorts. A black tank top that had splashes of color in it. She was also wearing a pair of pink flats, our Mother's necklace, and her bracelet that says Isabella(That I got her for her 15th birthday). Her hair was straightened and in a high ponytail and she had on makeup that made her brown eyes pop.
"No way," I said calmly. "Are you going out on a date... let alone wearing that."
"Aw, Emmett," she laughed. "I'm not a kid anymore, besides we are just going to the museum."
I opened my mouth to tell her to go and change, but Esme came in and beat me to it, "Izzy! You look so pretty. This boy most be very special."
"He is," she laughed.
Just then the doorbell rang, "Don't you dare answer that."
"Emmie, stop being such a baby." She said walking over. "It's just Callum,:" she said opening up the door.
Callum. Him and Izzy had gotten so close over this last year. I should have known. The problem is I knew that he would never do anything to hurt her so I couldn't say another word.
"Izzy," he said. "You look very nice."
"So do you," she laughed.
She took his hand and they left the door without looking back at me. Izzy was growing up to fast, I wasn't ready for this. I followed her and Callum as they walked down the driveway. Izzy was going up, she doesn't need me anymore. I had a hard time swallowing this thought. Some she would be leaving home and not looking back on me. I watched as she left the end of the driveway. She turned the corner with Callum, but I still looked into nothing. A couple seconds latter she ran back to the driveway, waved, and blow a kiss at me throw the window. Then ran up to catch up with Callum again.
Izzy may be growing up and leaving someday, but she won't forget me, as she just has shown there. One day when she is grown up and married with her own kids. But she'll never forget about me. She will always love me no matter how old she gets.
That's how things should have been. Not how they turned out.
"Hold on!" Luke yelled driving me back to reality. The next thing I knew Rosalie was snuggled next to me my arms around her, Luke was desperately trying to do something. He was pressing buttons like no tomorrow. And what felt like 5 minutes latter we were in the water.
I gulped in water by the surprise the fall and felt all the pain as the water burned through my lungs. I felt myself sinking and I wanted nothing more then just to die. Death seemed so easy.
Then I thought of Rose. My baby. Isabella. I had to live for them. I had to save all three of them. I opened my eyes and looked to my left. Luke sat there with a gashed forehead and his arm half way out of it's socket. The water around him stained with bloody. I looked the my right and farther away I could see Rosalie laying on the ocean floor passed out. I tried to swim to her but felt my ankle dragging me back I couldn't feel anything for the knee down. I had to think, and fast. She had to survive, she had my baby in her, and their lives alone were a hundred times more precious than mine. I dug my hands into the sand the dragged myself over using that and rocks stuck in the floor. When I finally got to her I used all my strength to get her in my arms and push her up and out to the surface.
I followed shortly after her. When I got to the surface I used my one good leg to keep both my and her afloat. I coughed and sputtered. I don't know how I survived that. I put Rose up on a nearby log and did mouth to mouth on her. It took so long to get her breathing that most people would have given up, but I wasn't going to let her die. As soon as I heard her gasp to breath by herself all my energy was gone. I grabbed onto the log and looked slowly felt myself losing consciousness. The last thing I saw was the island in the distance. 'I was so close to saving Izzy,' I thought. As I fell asleep for what felt like the last time.
